POV: Raphael
The moment I saw the timing, I realized it was done after I canceled his contract. He knows they have me now, he knows that with me on their side, they will fight for the company. That’s why he wants to destroy the company before they can get out of the hospital.
“What do you need me to do?” Carl asked me as he got into my car and sat in the passenger seat.
“Call the cops and go in there. Get that bastard arrested for hurting Victoria. Get her mom moved to a new room and place a guard outside her room. Let me know when it’s done.” I instructed Carl. nodded in understanding and stepped out of the car. I saw him making a call while he walked into the building.
“Where do you want me?” Felix asked me after Carl left. He has been standing beside my car all this while, waiting for my instruction.
“Get to the control room before anyone else does. I need the footage deleted. Make sure this incident is not published in the papers tomorrow.” I instructed him. He left as well and I was left in the car. It wasn’t up to five minutes after they both left that I spotted Nathan and a pretty blonde girl coming out from the hospital.
He came out with that rude bitch that is supposed to be Victoria’s step-sister. I’d seen her in the hospital room as well, I saw her going in with her parents. She had been so mean and rude to Victoria, and I meant to teach her a lesson. If she had stayed with her parents to keep harassing Victoria and her family, she would have been picked up by the cops when they came to arrest her parents.
But now that she is going to get into the same car with Nathan, it’s way better. This would teach them both not to threaten my woman. I smiled proudly as I watched them walk towards his car in a hurry. He had his hand around her waist and she wouldn’t stop giggling excitedly. It’s obvious they can’t wait to get a room and devour each other.
The cops arrived a few minutes after Nathan’s car left the hospital carpark. I waited in my car for Carl to handle everything. They must not find out that my ailment is fake, it would put my life and family at risk again. Until I expose all my enemies and their evil plots, I have to keep pretending to be sick.
“This is all a big misunderstanding, it’s a family issue and I demand that you let us settle it as a family.” Me Keller complained as the cops led them to their car. His wife kept asking him to do something about it, pushing him to offer huge bribes to the cops and get them out of this mess.
“I don’t want to go to jail, Austin, please do something, anything at all,” she prompted him. I smiled when he approached one of the officers to whisper into his ears. I picked up my phone and called the captain of the precinct,
“There was an incident at the Dunes hospital near Glamour hotel. Two people were arrested for assault and destroying the hospital’s property. I want them charged and taken to court. No leniency must be accorded to those two bullies else you’ll have me to answer to.” I told him firmly.
The officer was already bargaining with Mr Keller when the call came in. The moment he received instructions from his bosses, he pushed the money into Mr Keller’s hands and forcefully shoved him into the car. The female arresting officer for his wife did the same thing to her as well.
They sped off after the arrest, I smiled in satisfaction when the captain sent me a text message to inform me that he would make sure they spend the next few days buying back all the equipment they broke and paying for the hospital bills If the victim.
I called Carl and asked him to stick around until Victoria’s mom has been moved to another room. Felix got the footage copied and deleted before the cops got to him. I sat in my car waiting for Carl to update me on what was happening. The call from Mom distracted me from my thoughts about Victoria and what she had just gone through tonight.
“Your cousin brother was involved in an accident along with his girlfriend. Be sure to send flowers.” She advised. I laughed at her advice, she wasn’t even concerned about his health and welfare. I’m sure she never asked about the severity of the accident. She only inquired about the hospital so she could send flowers and pretend to be concerned about him. I texted my Secretary to send him flowers on my behalf, that’s the best I could do.
I kept working on my tablet while I waited for Carl to return. I’m trying to find the money Mr Austin stole from the company. I’ve been on it for a few minutes now and I still couldn’t find it. Instead, it keeps redirecting me to Uncle Reynold’s IP address, I couldn’t get access to it. He has an impenetrable firewall for his company.
Hacking Mr Keller’s computer was easy, I’ve checked all his bank accounts, including his wife’s and daughter’s accounts too. The money was not there, and now my hunch is telling me that my uncle may know something about it. I found a document that shows that he is in business with Mr Austin Keller. He invested some money with him, I have screenshots of all the documents. But I still have no idea what business they were into.
“It’s done, boss, she has been moved to a different room and her bleeding has been attended to.” He told me firmly.
“Good, get in let’s leave here,” I told him sternly without looking up at him. I hurried with what I was doing on my tab, getting ready to leave.
“Ermmm, what about her?” he asked me curiously.
“What about who?” I wanted to ask back, but when I raised my head, I came face to face with Victoria, standing by the car, looking so disheveled and hurt.
“Fuck those bastards!” I swore within me, turning my eyes away from her to avoid seeing her face that was sore and red. I knew it would be difficult to see her tonight and not lose my temper. I’d wanted to just drive home and then handle this tomorrow.
I feel sad for the pain she’s suffering and I’m also pissed off at her. I didn’t want to deal with her today, but seeing her looking this way, I had no choice but to hear her side of the story.
“Get into the fucking car!” I told her sternly.
