Ravine pulled up in her car, minimally dressed and looking stunning in whatever she was wearing. She sees Alex standing outside, and the information of collecting her goes to him.
They haven’t told any of their family members about the little rift they had. But Ravine, on the other hand, felt incredibly uncomfortable with Alex looking at her.
‘Don’t look at me like that. It doesn’t suit your fucking face, Alex.’ Her thoughts remain within, she wouldn’t say that aloud.
“Ravi-” passing by with a cold shoulder, she opens the door and begins greeting everyone with a fake smile, especially a much-reputed member, Framton.
“Where is the birthday girl, please?” She asks with a small smile, looking polite. Louis stands up and towers over her, Ravine’s smile collapses.
“I have heard all that I need to bear about you and Darla.”
“Well, I’m willing to change myself. Also, the birthday girl allows only me to enter. If anything evokes your interest,” she shrugs.
“Upto you. My car is waiting right outside and I’ll leave in a second.” Says Ravine.
Framton laughs out of the blue. He gets up and pats on her shoulder slightly.
“That’s a confident girl right here! Well, young lady, you should know that these siblings of hers will never forgive anyone even if Cassandra forgives them. They’re her brothers, sworn brothers. Not born to one mother.” Hence, the bond is valued too much than a sibling pair born to one mother.
“Understood.” Slightly indicating her willingness to be calm, she is shown where Cassandra’s room was. She enters.
The low dim lights switch on when she comes inside.
Ravine almost drops the box of makeup accompanied by herself.
“Oh… my… God.” As she says, Cassandra smiles widely and pulls her further into the walk-in cabin which had a useless vanity attached.
“Thanks!” She says. Sitting down on the stool.
“Before I begin,” Ravine opens the huge kit on the counter as she says, “Why’d you wanna put your trust in me? I’m one of the two people who used to bully you…”
“Well, I forget everything bad and forgive as well. The moment you said yes to me, I knew you’d change as well. I give second chances to everyone.” Says the younger girl. Ravine halts herself to look at the girl smiling at her.
There was such a toxic amount of purity in her that she felt as if she was losing herself.
“Thank you,” Ravine says, but the words do not reach Cassandra’s ears.
“Do you have fifteen minutes?”
“It’s still just 7 pm. We’re going to the Friday Gold today, at last. Have you gone there as well?” Cassandra conversed with Ravine as though they were close friends of a sort.
“I’ve been there three times already. It’s nothing special.”
“Now now, don’t kill my excitement. It’s gold! Everyone loves gold!” Cassandra argues while turning around to face Ravine on command.
“I don’t. I love silver and diamonds.” Saying, Ravine winks at Cassandra, who teases her with an “Eyy~”.
After fifteen minutes, Ravine taps Cassandra’s shoulder to open her eyes.
Cassandra turns around to view herself and has another heart attack for the day.
“How the fuck is every girl I know talented in doing bomb-ass makeup except for me…?” Ravine laughs at her words, dusting the extra product of her brush away before placing it back.
“That’s because you never took interest in it. All rich girls, genuine rich girls are the same.” Says Ravine. Cassandra stands up to face her, letting Ravine check her out and decide that her makeup accented with her dress.
“Good luck. You’ll look great in tomorrow’s newspapers and magazines.”
“Never forget the paparazzi~” The two girls laugh; they’ve had their experiences differently, but both could relate as famous and rich girls.
Cassandra begins to leave the room. However, she feels the need to turn back and run towards the taller girl. Ravine gasps when two arms hug her waist gently, her chin against her shoulder.
“Thank you for being my first-ever friend.”
And, she leaves to surprise her brothers and father and the special guest.
Beside Framton sat a woman with a tall witch hat and a black lace top, frizzy bell-bottom jeans.
“Ah! Here she is, Krille. My beautiful baby daughter.” Says the old man before a collective “Whoa…” is heard from the five brothers.
Getting shy, Cassandra walks towards the centre of the living room, under the light.
Krille claps her hands while so do the others.
“To both of you! The designer and the model!” Framton cheers, Dan blows a loud whistle while Alex pats Cassandra’s bum to praise her.
“I’ve never seen a more beautiful woman, Cassandra. We have another artist to cheer for, isn’t it? Call her.”
“Yes!” Lifting the gown, Cassandra runs back to her room to drag her new friend out.
“What!? Wait-” Before Ravine could protest, Cassandra had already pulled her in.
“Woo-hoo!” The cheerful boys hoot and whistle to the three girls. Framton, in a failed attempt, tries to copy Dan’s theatrical whistle as they all laugh and make the night bright.
After Krille and Ravine are safely sent back home, at 8 pm sharp, the Johnson family take two cars to reach the destination with hired drivers for the night.
“There’s a beautiful girl! Oh my God…” It was as if Cassandra sprinkled her love charm on every media person and paparazzi out there. At the entrance of the richest restaurant Friday Gold, hundreds and hundreds have accumulated to take just ONE good picture of the birthday girl.
But it seems she looked good from all angles.
She was the star of the night, a name that would be in everyone’s mouth for the next few days.
Cassandra, while walking up the tall, open set of stairs as the security held back any unwanted visitors, she suddenly turned back.
“Thank you for the night, everyone!” She yells loud enough to be heard in a video.
The flashlights sparkle even more after her propaganda.
And it was her Happiest Birthday Ever.
