*Day twelve attempt twelve*
It’s been a massive fail so far, the only progress he made was on the first day and after that, it was like Isabella had developed a thick skin and had become so stubborn that all his attempt was an epic fail. He had tried to recreate the boat cruise on their trip, the friends over dinner even the watching a movie relaxingly moment. But it was as if Isabella got a hint of whatever he was trying to do every time and just made sure he failed. He even took her to the office, maybe something would happen, instead of spending the rest of the evening having fun with Micah, making it another fail.
“Are you ready?” He said from outside her door as he waited for her.
“Is this another of your attempts?” She said and opened the door, dressed in a hoodie and joggers.
“Perfect let’s go,” He said and started to walk away leaving her stunned.
“What?” She rushed and followed behind him. She thought maybe he was planning on a fun date or a romantic outing for them, so she decided to dress off, but taking from his reaction he didn’t seem to care, which made her bother.
“Where are we going to?” She said down in front while Tristan drove them.
“You’ll find out soon,” He smiled and kept his eyes on the road, but Isabella felt uncomfortable hearing that.
The unknown scared her, Tristan scared her, he was the unknown in her mind, but the last twelve days had been nothing but him trying to make her remember who he was.
It bothered her, it made her curious as she wondered why she would forget someone as important as he had claimed to be.
“Are you trying to kill me and dispose of my body,” he laughed at her wild imagination.
“No way,” He chuckled.
“I’ll die for you instead,” He looked at her and smiled. But she heard a loud-pitched voice in her head as he said that. She closed her eyes and turned her head trying to make it go away, as her hands, grip the edge of her hoodie, holding tightly onto it as she tried to catch her breath.
“Are you okay?” He looked at her, as he took a turn and parked the car by the roadside.
“Yes, I’m fine” she lied. “Can I please get a bottle of water?” Her hands were stretched, trying to reach for it, as she shut her eyes close.
“Here,” He said and placed it in her hands.
“Thank you,” She immediately gulped down, and breathed out immediately.
“Are you okay?” He asked her and she nodded.
“What happened Isabella?” He asked concerned.
“Let’s go okay, I said I’m fine,” She half yelled and immediately he started the car. The rest of the drive was in silence until they arrived at the destination.
“What’s going on?” She looked confused staring at her family who stood beside a mansion, waving at the canvas they entered into the gate.
“We are here on time,” He smiled and parked the car, before getting down from the car. He rushed to help Isabella out, but she beat him to it.
“El,” Her face was full of smiles as she spread out her hands, and immediately Ella hugged her.
“I miss you so much,” El said sniffing in.
“Don’t cry, I’m here now,” She kissed her forehead and rubbed her cheeks, before moving her gaze to her elder brother who was already crying.
“Jug face,” She moved in his direction glaring at him.
“At least you can make a joke now,” He sniffed in and ran into her embrace.
“I miss you,” She breathes out.
“I miss you too,” Gerald said and closed his eyes enjoying her warmth.
“So what’s going on? Why are you make here?” She asked them, hugging her parents.
“Tristan got us a new home,” El squealed pointing at the mansion in front of them.
“What?” Her eyes navigated to Tristan and then to her parents, looking at them in shock.
“Here’s the key sir” He bowed in respect and gave the key to her father. In all her twelve days of staying with him, she had never seen him bow or be so respectful.
“Thank you so much son,” her mom said and hugged him, while Isabella just stared as everything displayed in front of her.
“Let’s go inside,” Her mom collected the key from her dad and rushed to open the front door.
“Let me help you with your bags,” he collected Isabella’s mom’s suitcase and she just stood there watching.
She was confused, very confused indeed. She looked at how freely everyone was with him. Her dad didn’t seem strict and her brother didn’t seem as possessive of her line as he used to, instead, he laughed freely with Tristan.
She wondered how close they were, and how much effort it must have taken him to get them to be comfortable with him. She is curious and truthfully wants to know about him, like everyone else around her who knew him, she also wants to know him like they do.
“I’ll send a little help soon,” he said to Mrs. Colin, who nodded her head and collected the last box, leaving Tristan and Isabella alone.
“Great,” He mumbled to himself and turned around to leave when her voice made him halt on his track.
“Why did you do it?” She asked, her voice was hoarse, as she looked deep into his eyes, looking for answers.
“I don’t understand,” he looked at Isabella confused.
“Why did you do it?” She threw her head in the direction of the house and it made a little sense now.
“Oh, the house?” He smiled.
“Cause you said you wanted to be close to family,” Tristan answered without thinking twice as he walked into the driver’s seat of the car.
“What?” She was taken aback by his response.
“So you would do anything for me?” Isabella asked him jokingly, as she brought her face closer to his, causing his breathing to hitch.
At that moment, Tristan almost lost his breath staring still at her. Her face was so close to his, that all that went through his mind was to kiss her.
“Yes Isabella, I’ll do anything for you,” He didn’t look at her eyes as he said that, he stared at her lips instead, speaking to her confidently like it was nothing….
Tristan
Things hadn’t changed yet, she still doesn’t remember me, but she was kinder to me. Kinder with her words, she sometimes even so are me a glance. But it did feel like she was conflicted with her feelings. She feels like I’m a danger to her, but at sane time I feel she’s drawn to wanting to know what’s going on with me, I spike her curiosity and that was enough progress for me.
I got ready for work, about to leave the house, while I lifted my head to stare at her. Since the return from her parents home, she would always come out to watch me as I leave for work.
“Byee, I will see you soon,” I told her, even though I wasn’t going to get a reply.
I walked further to the hallway leading to the front door, and before I could open it, the door bell rang, and I immediately opened the door.
“Lily,” I said stunned.
