Isabella
We were done packing and we both took a shower together after a hot make-out session. Right now we were back in the room and Tristan had gotten dressed up in his pajamas, while I was already in my night water but was still drying my hair.
“Let me help you with that,” He said and collected the dryer from me. He looked at me from the mirror before kissing the back of my neck, causing me to smile.
“Thank you,” I relaxed while he helped me dry my hair. He continued for like two minutes when he called my name with a hint of fright.
“What’s going on Tristan?” I asked him, the moment he paused staring at something which I couldn’t see.
“What happened,” I turned around and I could see the shock on his face.
“I didn’t do anything, was just brushing my fingers across your hair, and then this happened,” He looked freaked out, and I was as well as my eyes landed on it.
My hair was pulled out, I put my hand on my scalp and tried to confirm myself, and immediately a few more left my scalp frightening me.
“Is that supposed to be normal?” He looked worried as more came off.
“No,” I responded and rushed to the bathroom sink, staring at myself in the mirror, as more hair fell out.
“Was this the sign Doctor Eddie talked about?” I thought staring at myself in the mirror as tears fell from my eyes.
“Muffin,” he called, and immediately I closed the door stopping him from coming in. I didn’t want him to see me this way, I didn’t need him to know.
“What do I do?” I sighed and dried my face before washing it again. I stayed there staring at myself for a few more minutes until I felt better.
“Are you okay?” He asked me immediately after I got into the room.
“Yes,” I smiled and got into the bed.
“Muffin?” He joined me in bed, and I looked at him trying to hide the sadness I was feeling.
“Please don’t shut me out if something is happening, okay” He looked at me, and I nodded while he kissed my forehead.
“Can you hold me,” I said to him.
“Of course,” he replied and pulled me to his chest until I fell asleep.
*The next morning*
We had arrived at the private airport and had boarded his private jet. Unlike the last time when we came for this trip in a hurry and were tired this time, we had enough sleep and had packed our backs a day before our trip.
“Isabella,” he called out my name in a serious tone. That wasn’t what scared me, it was the fact that he called my name in full. Tristan only does that when his pissed with me or pissed in general.
“Yes,” I dropped my wine glass and turned giving him all my attention.
“I want to talk to you about something,” He cleared his throat.
“Go on, I’m listening,” I told him truthfully.
“Okay,” he smiled
“You recall the visit we had from grandfather,” He started and I nodded in response.
“You know I mentioned he wanted to talk about the inheritance?” He added and I gaze at him, nodding my head when I finally recall.
“Well the truth is the whole inheritance thing, has been brought down to Brett and me,” He explained and I looked confused.
“What about Leonard? I thought he was interested just like the rest of you” She stated
“Yes Leonard is a Dominic but right now he’s a Campbell,” He explained.
“So he didn’t ask for any part of it?” I asked him. I knew that Dominic’s had business in almost every sector and Leonard not being a part of it confused me as hell.
“Plus I thought Brett was going to take over from his father,” I asked him and he sighed brushing his head backward.
“Apparently Brett has no passion for hospitals or running a hospital either,” He stated.
“Leonard took over it, he now runs every hospital, clinic, and pharmacy belonging to the Dominic groups,” Tristan explained.
“So you are up against Brett? What’s the catch?” I asked him, a bit worried.
“Brett is going to play dirty. He wants the company’s shares in the housing sector, but he’s been unable to get it,” He explained.
“But your new product launch was a success, and Brett hasn’t done anything remarkable,” I stated.
“Well, that’s not what the data says,” He sighed.
“My intel has it that he’s been buying small shares and promising positions in the oil and gas companies,” I gasped in shock.
“That’s going to give him an upper hand. He can’t be the highest shareholder,” I said.
“I know, good thing I still have grandfather’s heart but I don’t know how long that would be,” He was right, grandfather would have to make a decision eventually, and just being his favorite grandson might not cut it for Tristan.
“You need to make a move, a big one too,” I said to him.
“How about meeting up with some of the grandfather’s old friends, especially those you had a good relationship with and still had partnerships with,” I suggested to him.
“That was the reason I had to marry Lily Allen,” he said in anger, and I felt my whole body reek I’m judgment.
I am ruining things for him, my marriage to him might cost him his family fortune.
“And your friends? No one can help?” My voice wasn’t as audible after the mention of Lily’s name but I knew he heard me.
“They are helping already, but Brett could also use it against me. He could say I couldn’t get things done, and just strike an easy deal with my friends,” He stated.
“He would use the not hardworking but connection card on me,” He explained and I scoffed.
“Are you kidding me? People have connections to make life easier. And he thinks he can talk to you when he plays dirty games?” I scoffed.
“It wouldn’t matter, investors and boards of directors would see it as brave,” He said to me and I scoffed.
“Then you play dirty too. But beat him at his game, make sure you do,” I held his hands staring at him. I cared about his happiness, and right now I know this meant a lot to him, since I started working for him, he’s been consistent, hardworking, and focused for this moment, and in all those times, Brett has truly been an obstacle. Since my incident with Brett at the family dinner, my dislike for him increased and I didn’t want Tristan to get involved with him. But I also wouldn’t just stand by and allow you get beaten like that
“Isabella,” he wasn’t so pleased with my idea, but he never disregarded it as a bad one too.
“Just think about it. Don’t be Brett, find a way to play your own game. Unless you miraculously have a shortcut for this,” I joked with him, but unsure of whatever I said.
“There’s a way out, “his eyes gleamed but were quickly replaced with sadness immediately I noticed.
“What way? Say it,” I urged him with all curiosity.
“I’m not sure of how you would react to it, ” He stated a bit nervous.
“The first person to produce an heir can take over,” His voice was a little too quiet.
“What? An heir? You’re the heir?” I responded truthfully not getting the concept yet.
“No, an heir?” He looked at me, raising his brows in an attempt for me to get her what he meant.
“An heir, oh do you mean,” I brought my voice down.
“A child?” I whispered my eyes widened.
“Yes,” He replied to me.
“What?” I screamed and immediately covered my mouth with both my hands noticing how loud I was.
“A child? Are you kidding me?” I thought staring at him astonished.
“This family is crazy. First the arranged marriage and now a baby?” I still gaze at him completely stupefied by the whole event that just happened.
