We were back to being in an amazing place and today we were going shopping. I wanted to get a few things before we eventually left this place.
“What do you think Grandpa would like?” I asked Tristan who followed beside me, and he looked surprised by my question.
“I thought you wanted to shop for yourself alone,” He asked instead.
“True, but I wanted to get a little something for everyone,” I smiled at him.
“Everyone?” His eyes widened in shock and he looked at me with those eyes making me chuckle.
“What do you mean by everyone?” He asked quickly, causing me to laugh.
“Grandpa, your uncle, and aunty, your cousins, your friends, my friends too,” I laughed as I listed, and his expression worsened as the list went on.
“I’m pretty sure my friends do not need any gift from you, and neither do my cousins,” He stated immediately.
“Is Brett included? God no,” He shook his head in refusal making me laugh.
“What! Everyone needs a gift. People like it too,” I stated to him, while we continued to walk around as my eyes searched for something.
“Are you going to spend my money on these people?” His question threw me off guard, and I looked at him and shook my head laughing.
“Yes,”
“Nooo, they are rich already,” he rushed to say like I didn’t know that.
“What,” I laughed at his comment.
“Are you with my card?” He didn’t care about my laughter.
“No, of course not,” I lied to him, and he sighed in relief instantly.
“Love, can I use your care for my personal shopping?” I asked him calmly.
“Of course love, get anything you want, ” He smiled at me and my mouth hung up in shock at his response.
“So it’s okay if I’m spending your money on myself, but not on others?” It was clear but I still need to ask.
“Yeah,” He responded simply.
“You’re kidding me,” I shook my head in disbelief but he didn’t seem to care.
“Fine,” He groaned.
“Grandfather is an exception,” He sighed and I stared at this man. He had the money and his whole behavior right now made absolutely no sense to me.
“Okay, maybe Aunty Diane, and Uncle Trevor,” He said it like he was forced to, causing me to laugh.
“You know what, never mind,” I waved my hands at him and walked away.
“Please don’t buy anything for my friends,” He yelled following me behind while I just laughed.
“What the hell is wrong with Tristan? How is whatever his saying making sense to him,” I thought to myself shaking my head as I chuckled and continued to walk away.
“What can I get for Grandpa?” I said not asking him in particular, but he didn’t say anything and just followed me into the drink section. I intended to buy him an expensive Bourbon but right now it didn’t seem to click.
“Does Grandpa still play golf?” I asked Tristan and he did his head smuggling.
“Perfect,” I smiled and pulled him with me. We got to the sports section end I asked if I could customize golf balls and they agreed.
“Could you please print ‘JDC’ (Jared Dominic Chen) in capital letters?” I asked kindly and the staff smiled and nodded his head. He brought out different formats and styles it could be printed, and then I picked the one I found more suitable.
“This one,” I tapped on the design and he collected it getting to work, while I sat down waiting for them to be done
“A set of three please,” I reminded and he nodded. I sat there for three minutes, and the whole time Tristan rested his head on my shoulder like he was a baby, but I was supposed to be the baby. I stared at him and rolled my ears the moment he excused himself.
“Please do you know where I can get the keychain?” I asked the person at the counter, and he pointed out, while I nodded. I quickly rushed there, picked one, and got back before Tristan returned.
“It’s ready,” I heard and quickly stood up to receive my items and make payments. The packaging was top notch which made me satisfied.
“Here,” Tristan gasped the moment I brought out his black card for payment while I just smiled at him.
“Let’s go,” I said to him, and he grumpily followed me. I got to the perfume section, I got for Aunty Diane, Uncle Trevor, and two for my girls too. After that, we walked to the watches section and I got four watches. I got three for his friends, Tristan looked devastated throughout the selection process and most, especially the payment time. He was forced to select his friend’s watches and the last one I picked out on my own before paying.
“All done for everyone,” I exhaled in relief.
“You didn’t get anything for yourself?” He asked.
“We are doing that now,” I smiled and then he looked a bit cheered up hearing that.
“But first, I’ll get a few things in the male’s section,” I told him and he followed me. I picked out shoes, fragrances, clothes belts, and watches, with a new set of long sleeves and a polo with beautiful colors.
“Who are all this for?” He asked brushing his hair, a bit worried.
“Don’t tell me it’s for my friends? They don’t need them,” I laughed and he sighed.
“It’s for no one,” I rolled my eyes at him, and when it was time to pay, I brought out my card and paid with it.
“Why are you doing that? I’m just kidding?” He said pointing at the card.
“Finally you said it,” I stated. “But don’t worry, this is different,” I smiled and collected the items before we went to the ladies’ section.
“Come on, let’s shop for me,” I told him and started to pick out bags, shoes, and purses I wanted. And once I was done I paid them all work his card.
“Thank you so much,” I squealed as we got outside the mall.
“Are you that happy, happy?” He asked while rolling his eyes.
“Yes!” I giggled.
“Thank you, husband,” I teased and kissed his cheeks.
“Let’s have dinner?” He changed the topic, but I nodded my head because I was already starving.
*The next day*
It was our last day, and last night here, and I couldn’t contain my joy. This trip had been nothing but fulfilling. It had helped bring Tristan and me closer, and it had made me realize how much I di love him. It has also been a source of strength for me to live and I couldn’t have asked for more.
“So,” Tristan said as we entered the room, we just got back from an amazing boat ride. I lay on the bed and stared at him.
“So,” I repeated waiting for him to say what he had to say.
“I got something for you?” He said and I looked at him like he had read my mind.
“I got something for you too,” I said to him and he stared at me in surprise.
“So how do we do this?” He asked.
“Let’s both bring it out together,” I told him and he nodded. He grabbed his box and I did the same with mine and dropped it in front of us.
“Here,” He said and we exchanged our boxes. I looked at him with a smile and opened the box.
“Muffin,” I gasped staring at the necklace.
“Thank you,” I smiled brightly at him.
“A key chain,” he stares at it.
“Read the words,” I instructed him.
“Oh,” He laughed.
“Think of me, ’cause I think of you always,” He read out and looked at me so lovingly.
“Oh muffin,” he kissed the chain and moved to me.
“Help me with it,” I said and he helped me wear my necklace, while I touched it as I got it on my neck.
“I love you,” He hugged me.
“I love you too,” I replied, and we stayed that way for a minute.
“Come on, we need to pack,” he pulled away and I nodded my head agreeing with him.
