Paul’s POV
Instantly, we parked the car and found the whole family waiting for us outside.
“Well, what a good welcome,” I said when I stepped out of the car.
“You guys sure missed me, didn’t you?” I asked as I walked to the other side to open the door for Molly.
She stepped out with a smile and grabbed my hand, which I had extended to her.
“We did!” Edith answered loudly.
I chuckled softly and then approached them.
When I stood in front of Jace, he moved his hand to my shoulder with a smile, then looked at Edith, who quickly moved and hugged Molly.
“You are late,” he said playfully, making me chuckle again.
“I am sorry,” I answered simply.
I let go of Molly’s hand and hugged Lillian lightly, who stood next to him.
“Congratulations, Luna, on your pregnancy,” I said as I pulled back.
“Thank you, Paul,” she answered and then moved to give Molly a hug after Edith had pulled back.
I looked at Harvey and then at Light, who were looking back at me coldly.
“I’m here now, so stop looking at me like you want to murder me,” I said seriously, then smiled when both grabbed each side of my hand, pulling me in and hugging me.
When they pulled back, they laughed softly.
“We really thought you were rooted in human territory,” Light said, making me laugh softly.
“I just wanted to spend more time with my mate and allow her to adjust to what I truly am,” I answered honestly.
“We understand,” Harvey said simply.
“So then, are we going in?” I asked with a raised brow.
“Yes, we are,” Jace answered, then grabbed Lillian’s hand and walked in with her as the others followed behind.
I looked at Molly and then smiled widely.
“Shall we?” I asked softly.
“What about our luggage?” she asked.
“I’ll mind-link the warriors to take care of it, or Light will do it,” I answered.
She nodded, and then we walked in.
Being back home felt good, but what made it special was having my mate by my side.
When we walked past the living room, Molly looked at me with an expression that seemed to be asking why we hadn’t gone in.
“We will join them later,” I answered as we walked to my room.
When we reached it, I opened the door for her.
“Get in,” I said softly.
She hesitated but stepped inside.
I also entered and closed the door behind us.
“This will be our room,” I said as she quickly turned and looked at me with widened eyes.
“What?” she asked loudly, making me laugh.
“I said this will be our room,” I repeated.
“As in… we will be sharing a bed?” she asked seriously as I laughed loudly.
“Of course,” I answered.
“Is there no spare bedroom?” she asked with a concerned expression on her face.
“Enough of teasing our mate,” Snow growled at me.
“I’m kidding; this will be your room alone,” I said as she sighed.
“Is that relief I hear?” I asked seriously.
“I do love you, Paul, a lot. But…”
“I understand,” I answered before she could finish her sentence.
“I understand completely; that’s why I will give you all the time and space that you may need,” I said, then walked to the closet, pulling it open.
“This is my room, so you should feel comfortable whenever you want to relax or do something. You know, like paint it or decorate it in any way you want,” I said as I grabbed a few of my clothes.
“Where will your new room be?” she asked seriously.
“We do have a lot of spare bedrooms in the pack house,” I answered simply.
“Then can I see the room you will be in?” she asked.
“Of course,” I answered, then walked to the door, opening it with my free hand.
“Let’s go,” I said softly.
She quickly moved and joined my side.
We got out and walked to the next room.
“I wanted to pick a room that is upstairs, but then it hit me how you, my mate, would be on this floor,” I said as I grabbed the door’s handle.
“Being close to you gives me and my wolf the comfort that we need. And knowing how close we are to protecting you if anything arises eases our minds,” I said, and then opened the door.
When I walked in, I glanced behind and saw her smiling happily.
“You are invited to visit me, sleep over, or walk in without knocking. Think of this room as your own,” I said once I had put the clothes I was holding on the bed.
“Thank you,” she answered softly as she walked in.
“I told you everything there was to know about my kind, so I am sure you will fit right in,” I said, then spread my arms wide open.
She smiled widely and quickly moved into my embrace.
I held her closely, taking in her amazing scent.
“How are you feeling?” I asked softly.
“A little scared because I have never left home to be with someone else before,” she answered.
“I know; that’s why I feel so lucky to have you with me,” I said honestly.
“I am also concerned,” she whispered as I attentively listened to her.
“What if I’m hated for being human?” she asked.
I pulled back and looked at her seriously.
“That’s pure nonsense; no one could ever hate you. You are my mate, so they will definitely respect and love you,” I answered seriously.
“You know, this pack is like a kind community. I admit that back then, when the Alpha wasn’t mated, it was a little bad, but things changed when he accepted our Luna. Everyone changed, and it became peaceful and respectful,” I said, then moved my hand to brush her hair gently.
“It doesn’t matter that you are human. What matters is that you are a part of this pack and you are by my side,” I said seriously, then dropped my hand.
“I am happy that I came with you,” she whispered with a smile.
“I am happy as well,” I said, then grabbed her hand.
“Let’s head to the living room; I’m sure they are waiting for us,” I said as she nodded.
We left the room and walked to the living room.
“I want one warrior to take care of the luggage in my car. Handle it with care because there are a few breakables my mate packed,” I said through the pack’s mind-link when we entered the living room.
Edith quickly grabbed a bottle and an empty wine glass from the table and approached us.
“Here,” she said, handing the empty glass to Molly.
“We want to make a toast and really welcome you to our pack,” she said as she poured wine into her glass.
Molly smiled widely and then looked at me as I smiled back at her.
