Jace’s POV
I was very upset over the fact that I had been standing outside for half an hour now, and no one seemed to want to invite us in or offer us a damn seat!
“Dominic, I suggest you go in there and drag your mate away from your evil look-alike twin or whatever he is, because we can’t stay here any longer,” I said seriously.
“I wish I could, but I know that won’t be possible, and I’m not going anywhere without her,” he answered seriously.
“Damn it, then I will be the one to do it,” I said, then walked to the pack house’s entrance.
“Jace,” Lillian called in concern.
“Don’t worry, I will be just fine,” I answered.
The Alpha of this pack was very strong, but his anger was definitely directed more towards Dominic than towards us.
“I’m sorry, I can’t let you in,” the pack’s Beta, who had left with the injured warriors a while ago, said as he approached me.
“Do you realize that my Gamma is in your pack house?” I asked seriously.
“I do, that’s why I apologize, Alpha. Unfortunately, I still can’t allow you to go in,” he answered.
“He at least has respect; maybe we should try to talk to him nicely,” Ridge suggested.
A few minutes ago, he was very upset over how we were welcomed, but now he was trying to be nice. He really was funny.
“Fine, then call your Alpha here and let us talk. If not, I will force my way in,” I said.
“That won’t be necessary,” the Alpha answered.
He was with Glen’s mate, and he looked calmer than when we first met him.
“First, you intruded on my pack, and secondly, you tried to take my mate away. Now you want to force my Beta to submit. Do you have a death wish?” he asked as I glanced behind at Lillian, who smiled at me.
“There is always a peaceful way to settle things,” she mind-linked me.
I looked at the Alpha, who was standing in front of me seriously, and then at Glen’s mate.
“I have seen you before at the party; I’m guessing you must have seen me too. My name is Jace. I am Glen’s cousin, and I am an Alpha. Right over there is Lillian, my mate, and the witch you saw is called Edith,” I said with a smile.
I knew that if I could introduce myself and my Luna, she would do the same.
“I’m Harley, and next to me is my mate, Sky. His Beta is called Riff,” she responded.
“Sky,” I called as he glared at me.
“I would have called if I had a way of getting to you; unfortunately, I didn’t. When Edith made a spell to create a portal that might lead us to Harley, we had no idea that it would work. So it was to our surprise that it led us here,” I lied.
“Is that your fucking way of apologizing?” he asked as I took a deep breath to calm myself down. He was getting to me with his harsh tone and words.
“Look, can we come in and talk this through?” I asked.
“You are not getting into my fucking home,” he answered as I groaned in frustration.
“Listen here, you pathetic excuse for an Alpha. We’re not here to get into your little pack house or to talk to you. We want the girl to listen to Glen’s apology and whatever he has to say. You can either let her go to him, or goddess help me, we will make our way into that fucking pack house, and you won’t stop us,” I said furiously as Ridge partially took control.
We were tired of his fucking disrespect.
When his eyes switched to that of his wolf, Ridge and I prepared ourselves for a fight.
“Stop it, both of you,” Lillian’s voice came from behind, and that seemed to shock Sky because his wolf stepped back.
“Harley, I understand you are upset over what Glen did, but are you seriously not going to hear him out? I mean, all he wants is to hear you say how you feel. He may not be your boss, but he is still Molly’s boss. Have you thought of what might happen to her?” she asked as she stood next to me.
“I will cover Molly’s expenses and make sure she lives a healthy life. If she wants, she is welcome to be a part of my pack,” Sky answered.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you, Alpha Sky, but there is no way Molly can be a part of this pack or stay here because her mate is a part of our pack. If you want, we can ask her, but I know and can guarantee she will go with Paul,” she said seriously.
Harley looked at Sky and then linked her hand with his.
“They are right, Sky. Molly won’t accept staying here. Her life is in the territory I come from, and if she feels how I feel towards you, then she will absolutely go with him. I know you hate the idea of me talking to Glen, but I have to if it’s the only way he will leave,” Harley said.
Sky let go of her hand and then leaned in, kissing her forehead gently.
“If he does anything stupid, just call me,” he whispered to her.
“I will,” she answered and then walked past us to where Dominic was.
“Now then, how about a drink? I’m thirsty,” I said with a wide smile.
“No, you are not getting into my pack house,” he answered.
“I’m fine with standing here, but are you seriously going to let my woman stand outside for hours?” I asked.
He looked at Lillian and then sighed heavily.
“Fine, Riff, please escort her and the witch into the living room,” he said.
“Edith,” I called loudly and then waved at her.
She approached us and stood close to us.
“Go in with Lillian; I’ll be right here if you need me,” I said.
She nodded, and then they followed the Beta when he went in.
I looked at Sky from head to toe and then chuckled softly.
“What? Do you have something to say?” he asked.
“No, well, maybe a little. I like your Beta; he is very well-mannered, just like my own,” I answered.
He raised a brow and then looked at Harvey.
“Hey Beta, get over here!” he said loudly, surprising me.
“Alpha, is he calling me?” Harvey asked through our mind-link.
“Yes,” I answered.
Harvey slowly approached us and stood in front of Sky, bowing low.
“Alpha,” he greeted.
Sky laughed softly and then patted his back lightly.
“He sure is polite, just like you said,” he said when Harvey stood upright.
“I know,” I answered proudly.
“If not for that abomination that looks like me you brought to my pack, I think we could have been very good friends,” he said, making me laugh.
Somehow he was right. If not for Dominic, I too felt like we could have been the best of friends.
