Lillian’s POV
I felt nervous as I looked at myself in the mirror.
When Edith gave me the dress last night, it was so beautiful that I immediately wanted to reject it. If it weren’t for her nagging me to take it over and over again, I wouldn’t have accepted it.
It was stunning-an elegant, floor-length gown in a striking royal blue color, crafted from a smooth, glossy fabric.
It showed all my curves and fit me perfectly. I was happy that it covered my arms because it was a long-sleeved dress with embellished cuffs, which I was dying to show Jace.
“I love how its high neckline is adorned with intricate beadwork,” I said softly.
“I love everything you are putting on, Luna,” Flora answered as I brushed my hand through my hair.
My hair was fixed into a braided bun by Flora. She was so skilled that it looked like it had been done by professional hair stylists.
“I feel like there is something missing,” I whispered softly.
“Here,” she answered as she pulled a small box from her dress pocket and opened it.
“When I saw the dress Edith gave you, I knew there and then that they would go with these diamond halo drop earrings that have been in my family for a long time. Back in my teenage years, I had no time to go to fun parties because I was so focused on doing my best for the pack to impress my parents. I am past the age of even showing them off; that’s why I want you to have them. Not only would they look perfect on you, but I would be happy knowing they are in your hands,” she said as she handed me the small box.
I slowly moved and stood in front of her.
“Flora, I can’t accept this,” I whispered softly.
“Nonsense,” she said, and then picked them up and carefully put them on me.
“Gorgeous,” she whispered with a smile.
I smiled back and hugged her happily.
She really was like a mother to me, and I loved her dearly.
“Lillian, are you done?” Jace asked loudly from outside my room.
“Yes, I’m coming,” I answered, and then walked to the door carefully because it was hard to walk fast in blue peep toe glossy mid heels.
When I opened the door, I felt as if my breath was taken away.
“Wow,” he whispered.
I was amazed at how handsome and sexy he looked in a dark blue mandarin collar business suit; his hair was brushed stylishly back, and his black piercings were still on.
“You look…”
“Very handsome,” I said, cutting him short.
“Thank you, and you look breathtaking. No words can explain how amazing you look right now. I feel like you deserve to be taken to a king or queen’s party,” he answered as I shyly raised my hand, waiting for him to place a kiss on my palm.
“As they did in the old days, kind sir,” I said playfully when he grabbed my hand and kissed it lightly.
“Shall we go downstairs where the others are waiting?” he asked with a smile.
“Of course,” I answered.
I glanced at Flora and smiled, then went to the living room arm in arm with her.
When I entered, I couldn’t contain my joy or how shocked I was.
Edith wore a strapless gown designed with swirling black and nude-colored patterns, adorned with numerous sparkling embellishments, while Harvey wore a classic black three-piece suit.
Paul wore a dapper classic red tuxedo, and Light wore a white tailored-fit, double-breasted, six-button, two-piece suit.
“You all look absolutely amazing!” I exclaimed as they all smiled.
“Well, not to brag, but Paul has amazing taste in clothes; he was the one who made sure that we looked this great,” Harvey answered.
“I wonder why he even has a damn golf club. If you ask me, he should have swapped businesses with you, Harvey,” Light said as I frowned.
What businesses were they talking about?
“I know that look on your face too well now. I’ll explain on the way about what he is talking about,” Jace mind-linked me.
“Okay,” I answered happily.
“Let’s all go; we have a long drive ahead,” Jace announced as Edith raised her hand, getting everyone’s attention.
“You may all have forgotten, but magic is my playground,” she said as we all kept quiet, wondering what she meant by that.
“We don’t need to drive there when we can use a portal,” she said as Harvey raised a brow.
“Won’t we end up being the first ones on that side when we do?” he asked seriously.
“Not really,” Jace said before the party started. “There was a huge possibility that Glen would meet with the important guests to talk about business. Only after he is done will they all start the party. Seeing how Jace is very important, we can all be present and be a part of that business talk. It may even end up being beneficial to our pack for all we know,” she answered as I looked at Jace.
“Well, I like that idea, but don’t take us to some unknown territory. I have no time to fight today,” Jace said simply.
“Got it,” she answered happily and then walked to the wall and placed her hand there.
She chanted a few words, and the wall disappeared, revealing a portal in its place.
It was funny how we all forgot how strong and capable she was. We were so used to her that we kind of forgot what she could do.
“Let’s go,” she said, and then walked into the portal.
“Well, all of you be alert, just in case we find ourselves in some unknown territory,” Jace said, linking his hand to mine.
“I trust my woman completely,” Harvey answered, walking in, followed by Light and Paul.
“Come on, the others are waiting,” I said, and then walked forward, with Jace following behind.
When we stepped in, I looked around, amazed at the colors surrounding us that looked like a wave of water. In front of us was a huge mansion that looked like nothing I had ever seen. Our pack was huge and amazing, but it looked nothing like the mansion I was seeing. Edith and the others were already at the gate waiting for us.
When we stepped out of the portal, it disappeared, and the gate in front of us opened.
As we walked forward, Edith’s eyes were on me.
“What?” I mouthed the words in silence.
“When you feel tired, in pain, or afraid, tap your right hand on your hip, and you will thank me later. The magic I fitted into it is quite refreshing,” she said as I nodded.
I was looking forward to what would happen after doing that.
