Glen’s POV
“Alpha, a few important guests have arrived,” Sophie whispered in my ear as I looked at Alpha Ian, who sat with his mate, Amelia, gazing at me coldly. Their Beta, Neo, refused to sit for some reason, and that was really a bad sign.
Dominic and I felt so intimidated, not just by Ian but by his mate, who was a very well-known and respected Alpha Queen managing the biggest territories we knew of in their country. We had to pretend to be calm when we weren’t.
“Is it the purebred vampire and her bond?” I asked, then tensed when Ian sat upright with a low groan.
“That purebred vampire has a damn name; it’s Samantha. If that name seems so fucking long for you to use, then you may call her by her nickname, Felix,” he said in what sounded like a warning.
“Of course, I meant to say Samantha,” I answered quickly.
“Sophie,” I called for her to tell me who it was.
“It’s Alpha Whitney and her Beta mate, Leomord. They also came with the twin Deltas and their mate,” she answered in a respectful tone.
“Quickly, let them in,” I ordered.
“Alright,” she replied, then bowed and quickly rushed out of the living room.
Whitney, Leo, and the twins were all Alpha Ian’s family and very important guests to me. The fact that they were even left to wait outside was disrespectful towards the Alpha Queen and Ian.
“I am so sorry about her behavior,” I apologized sincerely.
“For a Beta not to immediately let them in shows how lacking you are as an Alpha. In packs, as Alphas, we inform our Betas ahead of time if someone is coming to visit, be it our ally or other people we know. That way, when they do arrive, they are quickly welcomed and shown to the living room or office,” Ian said as I swallowed hard.
Did he not see that my place was not a pack house? Things were different from his territory.
“I apologize,” I answered as he chuckled loudly and then stopped.
“Are you an Alpha or a fucking Omega? This is the first time I’m coming across someone who says sorry more times than I can count,” he mocked as I clenched my hands into fists.
“Ian, don’t be rude to him, please,” Amelia said, then smiled at me.
“Please don’t mind him. We were supposed to have our alone time away from business and our pack; that’s why he is grumpy because we couldn’t,” she said as I took a deep breath and relaxed.
“I understand. I really do appreciate you coming here,” I answered.
When Whitney and the others walked in, I quickly stood up with a smile.
“Welcome, and please do have a seat,” I said.
“Thank you,” she answered, then smiled at Ian and moved to sit on the couch on the left with her mate.
I frowned when the twins stood at their side.
“Won’t you take a seat?” I asked after the twins’ mate had taken a seat between Leomord and Whitney.
“No,” one answered.
“Why?” I asked seriously.
“It’s only natural for us to stand until our Alpha Queen tells us to sit down,” they answered together.
They were clearly lying because in all my years, I had never heard of such a thing!
Sophie walked to where I was standing and leaned in.
“We also have other guests who have arrived,” she reported.
“Who now?” I asked softly.
“It’s Alpha Jace and his family,” she answered as I smiled widely.
“Quickly, let them in,” I said.
“Okay,” she answered, and she was about to go when I grabbed her hand.
“Next time an important guest arrives, immediately let them in,” I ordered.
“Yes, Alpha,” she answered and then left the living room once I dropped my hand.
When Jace walked in, I quickly moved to his side, extending my hand to him. Finally, there was someone who was my family and capable of standing unfazed by others and beside me.
“I’m glad you are here, cousin,” I said, stressing the cousin part for everyone to understand that he was my relative.
He sighed heavily, then shook my hand and turned to look at Alpha Ian.
“This is Alpha Ian, his mate Amelia, his Beta Neo, and their family: Whitney, the twins, Leo and Lexi,” I introduced.
“Pleasure meeting you,” Jace said simply, then gave a bow as the others did the same.
They weren’t showing their respect to Ian, but to his mate, who was an Alpha Queen.
“Ian, this is Jace and his mate Lillian. Behind him are his Beta and mate, and on his side are his Delta and Gamma,” I introduced.
“Great to know them. Now get on with your business talk because I’m getting bored,” he said as Jace chuckled softly and then went to sit down.
I could feel the tension building up even when no one was talking.
“Of course,” I answered.
I was about to sit down when Felix walked in with her family.
“Welcome,” I greeted her and her family. She nodded and then walked to sit down as if she didn’t know Ian, even though they were best friends.
“Great, now that we are all here, we may….,”
“Excuse me,” Sol’s voice came through the passage.
When he walked in, I smiled widely.
Sol was someone I knew because of the help I rendered to his pack when he was rebuilding.
“Sol, welcome,” I said happily when he walked in with his mate.
“Thank….,” he cut his sentence short when his gaze landed on Jace.
“Jace,” he called, a surprised expression on his face.
“It’s good to see you, Sol,” Jace answered with a warm smile.
“You too,” he said, then looked at Alpha Ian with a raised brow.
“That’s Alpha Ian and his family,” I introduced as he gave a bow to show respect to the Alpha Queen.
“It’s a pleasure meeting you all,” he said, then went to sit down too.
I was about to continue my talk when I heard light footsteps. I stopped talking and waited patiently for whoever it was to walk in.
I smiled happily when Garren, the leader of the Coven vampires, and his mate, the Alpha Queen, walked in. Behind them were Felix and her family.
Finally, everyone was here! What was left to do was convince them to be a part of my upcoming project. After that, we were all going to the party, which was the main theme. I was hoping wholeheartedly that everything would turn out for the best. If they all agreed to what I was about to say, then I was going to be the talk of each and every continent.
