Lillian’s POV
“You are glowing,” Flora whispered softly while she folded my clothes.
“What?” I asked deliberately for her to repeat her words.
“Nothing,” she answered, then chuckled softly.
“Did the Alpha visit you today?” She asked as I quickly shook my head.
“No,” I answered and then walked to the door when I inhaled his scent.
I smiled widely and then quickly opened the door before he could knock.
I felt happy and my wolf was purring softly, seeing him in front of us.
“Hey,” I greeted in a low tone.
He raised his hand and caressed my cheek with a warm smile.
“Hey,” he whispered back and then tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
“Were you going somewhere?” he asked softly.
“Yes…,” I trailed off.
“Actually, no,” I answered honestly.
The reason I wanted to go out was in hopes of bumping into him. Now that he was here, I saw no reason to.
“Oh, then if it’s not too much to ask, would you like to join me for a walk?” he asked.
I turned and looked at Flora, who quickly nodded.
“I would love that,” I answered and then linked my hand to his surprise.
“What?” I asked simply.
“Nothing, I’m just happy to have you hold my hand first,” he answered, then gave me a light squeeze.
“Flora, I’ll be back soon,” I said and then began to walk with him.
“She really does worry and care about you a lot,” he whispered while we went downstairs.
“I know, and that’s how she has always been with me. To be honest, there were a few times that I feared her,” I answered, then frowned deeply.
“Were you going somewhere?” he asked softly.

“I know, and that’s how she has always been with me. To be honest, there were a few times that I feared her,” I answered, then frowned deeply.
“She’s the only she-wolf who truly cares about me like a mother would,” I said seriously as we walked out of the pack house.
I kept my gaze fixed on the road, but a few times I couldn’t help but steal some glances at him.
Although he looked great as usual, his facial expression was different. It was as if he was bothered by something.
“Hey,” I called, getting his attention.
“Are you okay?” I asked with concern.
“Yes, why did you ask?” He asked back.
“Because usually when you are with me, you talk, even if it’s small talk,” I answered and then chewed on my lower lip.
Was I sounding too forceful?
“I am quiet because there is something that’s bothering me,” he answered.
“If you don’t mind, you can share it with me,” I said softly.
“Leah…” He began as I flinched and immediately pulled my hand away from his.
“No, it’s not what you are thinking,” he said loudly as I glared at him coldly.
“And what am I thinking about, Alpha?” I asked in a disrespectful tone as he sighed heavily.
“She crossed the border without consulting anyone or asking for our permission,” he answered as I huffed and then folded my arms.
So what was wrong with that? She did whatever she wanted without having anyone’s permission for years.
“I don’t know why, but I have a bad feeling about everything. When I told her I was ending things with her, I expected her to retaliate in some way or even throw a bad tantrum like she did in the past when things didn’t go her way, but she just pleaded and then seemed to accept it all, and that was a bit strange,” he said as I kept quiet.
So he really was looking forward to her causing a ruckus over him? Was he really serious about me?
“But either way, she broke the rules of the pack, and for that, she is being punished,” he said as I stopped walking and looked at him.
“What?” I asked.
“Yes, she is being punished as we speak right now. She crossed the border and went against the rules of our pack. I don’t care if she did that for a good cause, reason or not. All I know is that she was to be punished like any pack member, and that’s exactly what I did,” he answered.
I felt like jumping and kissing him passionately for what he had done.
Never was there a day that she was punished, no matter how she acted.
“I want to see her,” I said as he raised a brow.
“What?” He asked.
“I said I want to see her,” I answered as my wolf huffed.
I wanted to believe him, but I just couldn’t. Not until I saw it with my very own eyes.
He was so in love with her, almost all his teenage years. There was no way he was treating her like everyone else so easily.
“Fine, let’s go back to the pack house,” he said and then extended his hand, which I reluctantly took.
We went back in silence to the pack house, and when we walked in, my heart began to beat rapidly.
It was a lie! Those words began to play in my mind with each step we took going downstairs to where the secluded empty rooms were.
Also, a lot of questions were going through my mind. Was Sylvia still alive? Did someone unlock the door for her? I needed to check up on her and see if she was dead. But for now, my main concern was to see if Leah was being punished or not.
When we reached a certain room, we found two warriors standing there, guarding.
They quickly gave a bow to show us respect.
When we walked in, the very first thing we saw was Leah sitting on a chair with silver chains around her body from head to toe. Her head was hanging low, and her hair looked a mess.
She slowly raised her head and looked at Jace with a pained expression on her face, then smiled.
“It may not kill me, but it still hurts, Jace,” she whispered huskily and then ground her teeth.
As soon as her eyes met mine, her smile vanished.
“Why is she here?” she asked bitterly.
“She is here because she is my mate and your Luna,” he answered seriously as I smiled at him.
Hearing him say that right in front of her was what I had dreamed of in the past. It felt so unreal.
“Is this supposed to be a joke?” she asked in a cracked voice.
“No,” he answered seriously.
I placed my hand on his shoulder and then smiled softly.
“Can you please give us some privacy?” I asked seriously.
“No, she may…”
“Jace, I’ll be alright,” I whispered softly.
He hesitated but nodded and then walked out.
“What do you want, bitch!” she yelled as soon as the door closed.
“Me? Nothing, I’m just here to laugh my lungs out,” I answered and then burst out into laughter.
“How da…”
“You see, a few years ago you were high in your own world and thought the world you live in would bend to you very well and existence. But what you didn’t realize is how powerful a mate bond is,” I said and then moved closer to her, leaning in.
“Do you not realize?” I asked as I let Maila take over for a minute.
“He is mine and he will never be yours. Dare to challenge me again, and I’ll rip your head off,” she growled loudly and then gave me back control.
She had tears in her eyes threatening to fall, and she was trembling. Seeing her like this made me feel excited.
“Bugs know their place, so why shouldn’t you? If I ever find out that you were talking to him, or even looking at him, or breathing the same air in the same room, I promise you on the moon goddess that I will make you regret ever being born,” I said in a low tone and then cleared my throat.
“Jace,” I called loudly in a cracked voice.
The door burst open, and he rushed in as I quickly went to his side and wrapped my arm around his waist with tears threatening to fall.
“I want to go back to my room,” I said, faking my sadness as a tear rolled on my cheek.
“Lillian, what’s wrong? Did she dare to disrespect you in any way? Did she hurt you?” He asked in a low growl.
“Well, she called me a dead runt and said she was going to kill me once she was out of this room,” I answered as tears continued to roll down my cheeks. His expression instantly turned murderous.
“Lillian, would you mind stepping out,” he asked coldly.
I wanted to say I did because I wanted to see what he was going to do to her, but then again, he wouldn’t want me to be here if he was going to be violent.
“No, I don’t. I really don’t want to be here with her,” I answered and then walked out.
When her loud whimpers reached my ears, I smirked.
The bitch was finally getting what she deserved. A taste of her own medicine.
