Sol’s POV
I instantly turned into my human form, not because of the fact that I knew what she was to me, but because I wanted to talk to her and find out what she was doing in the woods when it was clear that she was not one of us.
She looked at me from head to toe with a raised brow and then smiled and flipped her hair back again as if attempting to seduce me.
“Oh, h…”
“What do you want?” I asked seriously without letting her finish her sentence.
She frowned deeply for a second and then composed herself. She looked shocked at my words.
Just because she was my mate, did she expect me to drop to the ground and worship her?
“Um… I’m assuming that you are the leader of these rogues, right?” She asked in a stupid note.
“I believe you can tell without asking,” I answered coldly.
She kept quiet again and then chuckled softly.
“Can we talk in private?” she asked, annoying me.
I wanted to say no when my wolf growled loudly at me. He wanted to hear what she had to say to us.
“Fine,” I answered and then extended my hand to her, which she quickly took with a smile.
I stood frozen in one place for some minutes, feeling shocked, amazed, and dazed at the beautiful tingles that were spreading throughout my entire body. Her scent was heavenly too, and it instantly calmed me and my wolf.
“Shall we?” she asked softly as I nodded.
We walked away from everyone in silence, and once we were sure no one could hear our conversation, we stood facing each other.
“Speak,” I demanded seriously and then pulled my hand away.
I wasn’t going to let her influence me in any way.
“Is it that you are playing dumb, or is it that you don’t know who I am to you?” She asked seriously as I laughed softly.
“Is this what you are here for? To act all bitchy just because you are my so-called mate?” I asked back as her expression turned cold.
“What’s wrong with you?” She asked loudly.
“Me? Nothing, but what is wrong with you?” I asked back seriously.
She sighed deeply and then smiled widely.
“What do I lack?” she asked as I looked at her from head to toe.
Honestly, she lacked nothing. She was perfect from head to toe. She was actually gorgeous and breathtaking. Sadly, I was already married to another and had pups with her. There was never a day I wished to meet my mate because I was happy and content with the life I had.
I wasn’t a banished Alpha. I was actually an Alpha who stupidly left his pack behind after the ambush that affected everyone. I was insecure and scared to talk to anyone, thinking they would blame me.
I couldn’t protect them as an Alpha because I was so damn weak. How could I face them knowing I was a failure? That’s why I had to leave. But leaving was a blessing in disguise. Not only did I meet others who were willing to stay with me, but I also met my wife who gave birth to two beautiful pups whom I loved more than my life.
“You lack nothing,” I answered honestly.
“I’m so relieved to see that you are sane,” she said, mocking me.
“Keep your anger in check,” my wolf warned as I sighed loudly.
“She-wolf, what the hell do you want?” I asked a little loudly.
“I want you and everything that comes with you,” she answered as I kept quiet for a minute and then burst out into laughter.
She was insane despite looking gorgeous!
“I see you have nothing important to discuss with me. So I’ll give you a friendly warning. The next time my pack warriors find you, they will do as they want with you, and I won’t stop them,” I said and then turned to walk away when she laughed loudly, making me look back.
“Knowing that I’m your damn mate, would you let me be in danger?” She asked loudly as I smirked.
“Not only would I let you be in danger, I wouldn’t help you even for a second,” I answered honestly as her expression turned deadly.
“Why is it?” She asked with a deadly expression.
“Because you mean nothing to me,” I answered and then began to walk away.
“Where are you going?” She exclaimed.
“Me? I’m going back home,” I answered simply.
“Alpha!” She called loudly as I rolled my eyes and turned to look at her.
“Woman, what do you want, seriously?” I growled.
“I told you already, and it seems you want to ignore me,” she answered.
“Tell her,” my wolf urged.
“You won’t have me because I can’t belong to you,” I said seriously.
“What does that mean?” She asked with a glare on her face.
“It means I don’t need you, I have a mate and two beautiful pups with us. Having you is like a distraction that will go wrong,” I answered as she took in a sharp breath.
“What, does it shock you that much?” I asked with a smirk.
“Is this supposed to be a joke?” she asked loudly.
“I don’t see you laughing,” I pointed out simply.
“Do you realize that I’m your mate?” she exclaimed.
“How many times will you say that? And it’s so obvious that I can’t ignore it,” I answered honestly.
“Then what do you mean when you say you have someone you cherish and you have pups?” she asked loudly.
“It means exactly what you think it means. Is it so hard to understand that I don’t want you? I already have a family that I won’t let you break apart,” I answered at the top of my voice.
I instantly tensed when she laughed loudly.
“Fine, but that still doesn’t change the fact that I am here to negotiate,” she answered, surprising me.
I was so sure that she wasn’t going to easily back away. Most mates tended to fight for their other half unless they both seemed to agree on rejection. Did she already have a lover as well? Just that thought made me feel uneasy.
“And what is it that you want to negotiate about?” I asked.
“First of all, I won’t come between you and your partner, and to top it all off, I will offer you my pack and every beneficial good that you can have. If you want, you might as well take the land and every she-wolf that belongs in it,” she answered.
“And what do you want in exchange?” I asked seriously.
“I want the Alpha. To be honest, I don’t want you too. I want to be the Luna of my pack, not yours. I want to be the one that rescues my Alpha in front of every pack member when you ambush us; that way, his loyalty will remain only to me and no one else. To assure you that I’m really sincere with my words, I’ll accept your rejection so that you can live happily with your partner,” she said as I felt an ache in my heart.
This was a good deal for me and my partner, yet I couldn’t help but feel sad over her words.
“Accept the deal, you know how we really love our partner and pups,” my wolf said.
I saw no reason to ambush her pack. But if it meant getting rid of her forever and having a land full of wealth to sustain us all, then it wasn’t a bad idea.
“Fine, I accept,” I answered as she smiled happily at me.
I had a very bad feeling about this, but I didn’t want her in my life.
