Maila’s POV
“Get out!”
Was what I said to the Beta after I had asked him to send a capable she-wolf that would take care of everything.
I walked into the bathroom and took off my clothes, stepping into the shower with a heavy sigh.
I wasn’t shocked over the Beta’s obedience because it wasn’t Harvey present. But I was very surprised when he and Edith teamed up to carry Jace.
“He’s still an asshole, Harvey or not,” I whispered as the cold water poured on my body, making me look down on myself with a low sigh.
What was so undesirable about us?
I gritted my teeth and then moved my hands to my hips sadly. Even after dying, I was still fat; the only difference was that the chubby stomach was no longer there.
I slowly slid my hands to my full breast then touched my lips lightly.
“No kiss, no touch, and unloved,” I whispered as tears filled my eyes.
“Lonely,” I mumbled while I dropped my hands with tears running down my cheeks.
Because of his harsh words, we couldn’t even touch ourselves in any way; we found it so disgusting.
I wanted revenge, but Lillian was still scared to have the bastard reject us.
“For how long will you keep quiet? Do you want me to murder everyone that made us feel pain? Will that be enough to ease your pain? I was the one who talked like a child and was the silent one, so don’t you dare take my place, Lillian!” I exclaimed as tears continued to fall.
She was hurting badly, and so was I. That’s why I was trying to stand tall for us to gain the respect we were meant to receive.
When the door to my bathroom opened, I turned and looked at the elderly Omega with a murderous gaze.
She stood still, looking at me with blurry eyes filled with tears.
“Lilly,” she called, then rushed into the shower to hug me.
I wanted to push her away but stopped when I heard Lillian’s low, silent sobs. They weren’t of sadness but relief and happiness.
The Omega in front of us was the only one who had never abused us. Although she was tough on us a few times, she was the only one Lillian opened up to when asked about her fears. From not knowing how to swim to her dreams of one day having our bastard mate look our way.
“I’m naked,” I pointed out after I had turned off the shower.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” she answered and then quickly stepped out with wet clothes.
I too came out, and I was about to grab the towel when she moved and quickly grabbed it before me.
“I’m here to assist you with everything, so feel free to ask me for anything,” she said and then handed it to me.
I took it after a few seconds of hesitating, then wrapped it around my body.
“Come here,” she said after she had grabbed another towel which was folded on the wall shelf.
“No,” I answered seriously.
She sighed softly and then grabbed my hand and walked with me to the bedroom, which was already cleaned.
How was the place cleaned? Was it because I was deep in thought that I couldn’t even hear her walk in and work?
“Sit down,” she whispered.
I looked at her coldly, then sat down as she began tending to my wet hair with the towel.
Because of Lillian, I had a soft spot for her. No matter how casually she spoke to me, I couldn’t act up in any way.
“You must be surprised why I am here. The Beta asked me to take good care of you and explained everything to me,” she said as I bit my lower lip.
“Aren’t you scared of me?” I asked in a low tone.
She stopped drying my hair, then moved in front of me and looked at me with tears filled in her eyes.
“Silly child, how could I be when I had already taken you as a part of my family? Just because I couldn’t stand up against the Alpha, that doesn’t mean I didn’t try my best,” she answered.
“I treated your wounds every night when you were in so much pain and made sure I left some of my leftovers for you. I was happy whenever you came to talk to me, and I did my best to cheer you on. If I didn’t take you as part of my family, would I have done all that? I wanted you to be tough and rely on your own, because you weren’t the only one who went through such a fate. I too did for being an omega who couldn’t shift. Only when I was in my thirties did my wolf awaken. To be where I am right now, I had to make hard decisions, but never were they my regrets. My regret was not saying all this before your death,” she said as I sniffed.
Tears couldn’t stop running down my cheeks because of her words.
I had an idea that something or someone was helping us here and there, but never would I have guessed it was her because back then we were so pathetic.
She knelt down with tears running down her face then smiled.
“Now look at you, you are stronger than anyone,” she whispered.
“I want to destroy him,” I whispered huskily and then quickly wiped away my tears when I inhaled the Delta’s scent and heard his footsteps.
“Get up and wipe away your tears quickly,” I said as she promptly did and continued to dry my hair.
When the door opened and he walked in without knocking, I raised a brow.
“We need to talk,” he said seriously as I chuckled.
“Didn’t the Beta warn you?” I asked calmly.
“He did,” he answered.
“That means you are either stupid or suicidal,” I pointed out as he cleared his throat.
Just because he didn’t participate in tormenting us, that didn’t mean he was innocent. He stood and watched it all happen, and that made him an asshole as well.
“I will hear you out if you kneel down and kiss my feet,” I said simply, and that seemed to take him aback.
“What?” He asked in a low tone.
“I said, kneel and kiss my feet,” I spat with emphasis as my pheromones filled the room.
He frowned deeply and looked at me with a pained expression on his face.
“I…,” he began to speak but stopped and fell to his knees with a pained growl.
I watched helplessly as he began crawling to me.
I glanced at the Omega and noticed how she was slightly trembling in fear.
I wanted to apologize to her, but that would only make me look weak in front of the asshole.
When he touched my foot and looked at me with labored breath, I smirked.
The more they tried to fight it, the more amusing it became.
He leaned in and kissed my feet as I swallowed hard. It was disgusting, yet I still loved the sight of him on his knees.
“Perfect,” I whispered and then giggled happily.
