It was a surprise that Christian was there with the way his eyes were admiring me, o almost lost my balance, I clutched hard to the door handle and waved at him.
CHRISTIAN.
“We’re done for today, tomorrow is an even bigger day” Klyee said stretching.
“Are you tired” I asked her and she shook her head, I knew she was lying I could see how pale her face was from the stress.
A couple of others left after saying their goodbyes.
“Of course I’m tired” she finally admitted.
“Let’s leave then, we’re driving behind Mr Sandy because I don’t know the way to his house ” I told her, she stood up and looked outside the window.
“The sun is setting, your girl and Blue would still be in building?” Kaylee asked.
“I should call Jenna” I said pulling out my phone.
“Need ” Klyee said, I raised my head to see Blue running in to meet her dad, then I turned to the figure standing shyly in the door, a look of adoration was on her face as she watched Blue hugging her father.
I was frozen in time that was the best and only explanation I could give. She was so beautiful, too beautiful, I gasped feeling my chest caving in with multiple emotions. She turned to me and she smiled instantly, she was like a sweet dream. She raised her hand and waved at me.
“Daddy meet my friend, Jenna… Come on, come over here and say hi to Daddy” I heard Blue say, Jenna turned to me then she gave me a short nod.
She went to meet Mr Sandy.
They talked for a very short while, she made her way towards me.
“I’m going to get our car ready ” Klyee said and she left.
“Hi” Jenna said when she was up close, I took her hand and led her to sit on my laps.
“I miss you” I told her hugging her first, then kissing her.
“I missed you too” she said to me.
“Awe. Look at the both of you” Blue cooed.
“Hope you took good care of my girl?”
She rolled her eyes.
“I tried” she said coming over to hand me the card.
She pulled Jenna from my lap and clutched to her.
“Jenna and I are now besties, it means I’ll not be sharing her with anyone else. Please stay away” she said raising a finger and she pulled her out of the conference room.
“Your daughter is stealing my girlfriend away from me” I told Mr Sandy.
He smiled and turned away from the door, he had watched the both of them leave.
“Blue hardly ever makes any friends Chris. If she’s calling Jenna her friend then she really means it”
Jenna hardly ever made any friends too and her best friend turned out to be an enemy at the last minute. Blue was a good girl, if not I wouldn’t leave Jenna in her hands.
“I say we get going Chris, I’m starving and I need a home cooked meal ” Mr Sandy said he sounded happy, seeing his daughter with Jenna really brightened him up.
I nodded and stood up, Kylee was at the door waiting for me.
“Jenna and Blue are driving home together, I guess you’re going to be seeing less and less of your Baby girl” Kylee said, she bumped shoulders with me. “Jesus, look at that frown, I’ve never seen you this conflicted” Klyee said.
“Hopefully they don’t insist on a sleepover in the same room” Klyee said again painting in my head pictures of myself alone in bed. She pushed the elevator button.
“If Jenna wants it, she can have it, I’m not going to ruin her fun because of my selfish wants and needs”
“This is so unlike you Chris, I love the man Jenna is turning you into”
“I don’t think that’s true, I don’t think I can leave her, they better not have that sleepover unless I’m ruining it, she’s sleeping in my arms tonight ”
“That’s more like it” Klyee said throwing her head back in laughter.

“I have a big brother ” Blue said.
“Don’t tell me his name is red” I said with a laugh.
“Good one” she joined in with the laughter and just shook her head.
“His name is Dave. He comes back from his trip tomorrow morning” Blue said taking a strand of my hair.
“How do you get your hair to be so healthy?” She asked and I shrugged.
“I don’t really use heat on it, I like the natural waves” I told her.
Someone knocked on the door.
“Who is it?” Blue yelled at the top of her lungs.
The door came open, Klyee sneaked her head into the open space.
“Jenna, please can you come and stay with Christian, he’s angry and sad. I know I came twice before and you said you’ll be there soon, but he’s bombarding my phone with calls and I can’t sleep ”
This was the third time in the space of thirty minutes that she came to call me. I figured it was enough to leave.
I climbed down from the bed and Blue groaned.
“Tomorrow when they are in their meeting, we can continue talking ” I said to her and she nodded.
“Thank you ” Klyee said turning the other way.
“Where are you going?” I found myself asking her.
“My room is downstairs ”
“Oh.. good night ”
“You too”
I walked to the door of the bedroom where Christian was staying and I knocked, there was no reply, I wondered if he was asleep already.
I turned the door knob and pushed it open.
“I thought you wouldn’t come in” Christian said, he was sitting on an arm chair and a laptop was on his laps.
“How did you know I was the one knocking?” I asked him.
“Who else knocks as if the door has feelings?” He asked me with a grin.
It was true, I never knocked hard.
I closed the door behind me and I sat on the bed and faced him.
“How was your day, did you enjoy it?’
He asked me.
“I did, thanks for the black card, Blue and I went wild”
“I’m happy that you’re happy, you can go on another shopping spree tomorrow” he said dropping his laptop aside.
“Uh, did you see the amount of what we spent?” I asked him and he nodded.
“I did, you can go another round tomorrow ”
I blinked frantically trying to register what he said, another round?
Fuck yes, so this is what having a rich boyfriend felt like.
He didn’t walk directly to me, he just turned off the lights and then he made his way to where I was sitting.
He kissed my lips, I kissed him back, missing the taste of him. I moaned on his lips and he smiled. When I was out of breath, I pulled out and he buried his face in my neck.
“I love you ” he whispered.
