Chapter 132 She Loves Him

Book:My Unexpected Billionaire Husband Published:2025-2-8

David looked at Sarah, feeling a bit uneasy. He was actually a little scared she might hit him, so he took a small step back. “I can’t believe it, Viola and Monica actually got arrested. I thought they were off somewhere on vacation or something.”
“By the way, I heard about that project from Mr. Reuben. It seemed really hot, and a lot of people were eager to invest in it. Since I wasn’t in that circle, I didn’t put in a dime,” David recalled. “I think the Martin family invested in it too. I wonder how that’s gonna turn out. Normally, the Martin family wouldn’t put all their money into something like that. But I heard they haven’t been doing so well lately, so if this deal hits them hard, it could really drag them down another notch.”
Sarah walked over to her car.
David noticed the silver Aston Martin she drove up in and said, “Hey, you got a new car?”
Actually, the car wasn’t Sarah’s; she hadn’t bought a new one recently. The Lamborghini she usually drove was in for maintenance and a color change.
“It’s Holden’s car.”
David looked a bit envious. “He really is generous. I never lend out my sports car to anyone.”
Sarah put on her sunglasses. She still hadn’t finished taking off her makeup. She wanted to head home to change.
When they got to the Smith family house, Sarah took off her white coat and tossed it on the sofa.
Lucy’s eyes lit up. “You’re back, Lady? I’ll go make you something to eat!”
Lucy, the chef Butler Ted had brought in from a high-end restaurant, only focused on cooking. However, Mr. Holden was rarely home for dinner, and even when he did, he never praised her cooking.
Lucy’s biggest joy was when Sarah came back, and she got to hear compliments about her food.
Sarah glanced at her phone and saw she had indeed received a transfer notification from Mr. Brown. She stood up to head upstairs just as Butler Ted and Holden walked in from outside.
Butler Ted was following Holden, chatting as they walked. “It’s pretty much what you expected. This amount is huge; Mr. Reuben will be looking at at least fifteen years in prison. Mr. Samuel heard about it, but he’s not getting involved-he’s too busy dating a model.”
Sarah leaned against the stair railing and waved at Holden. Butler Ted smartly stepped back, not wanting to be a third wheel.
Holden walked over, glanced at what she was wearing, and smirked. “Nice outfit.”
Sarah was still in her costume from filming-a black velvet dress that accentuated her slim waist, making it look even smaller. The curves of her body were obvious beneath the fabric, and the two strands of pearls around her neck highlighted her fair skin.
Her ears suddenly flushed red. “Do you want to come to my room? I need to talk to you.”
Holden looked at her outfit and instantly understood. The last time Sarah had shown him her unique pajamas at the hotel, nothing had happened. Today, she probably bought something else to tempt him.
Noticing her flushed earlobes, he chuckled softly. “Sure.”
Once they entered Sarah’s room, Holden casually loosened his tie. Sarah pulled a bank card from her small bag.
Holden squinted. “What’s this about?”
“There’s eighty million in here,” Sarah explained. “The money my dad asked you for last time is in this card. I’ve gotten it back, and now I’m giving it to you.”
Holden honestly didn’t care about that amount of money. For him, dealing with things with cash was the easiest way to handle them.
While he wasn’t fond of Sarah’s troublemaking stepmother and sister, Mr. Brown was still her father. If he could solve things with money, he wouldn’t need to resort to other methods.
He didn’t expect that Sarah had somehow managed to get that money back.
Holden replied coolly, “You trying to cut ties with me?”
“Oh, not at all,” Sarah said, feeling a bit shy. “I just…”
She wanted Holden to know that she loved money, but she loved him even more.
But saying that out loud felt awkward, so she tried another approach. “I’m your wife. This is my salary card for you to keep. You know the password.”
Holden had given her his spare card, and now Sarah wanted to give him hers. Sure, it might not be enough for him to swipe a few times, but it was the thought that counted.
Holden took the card. “You only give this to me, or does anyone else get one too?”
“Of course, it’s just you. You’re my husband.”
Who else would she give her bank card to other than Holden?
He pocketed the card, his deep-set eyes scanning Sarah. “Is there anything else?”
“Nope,” Sarah said.
Holden asked angrily. “You brought me to your room just to give me a bank card?”
Sarah corrected him. “This isn’t just any bank card; it’s a super fancy one with at least eighty million on it. It represents my pure, innocent heart.”
Holden let out a cold laugh and pulled her into his arms. “Sarah, you still have a heart?”
“Of course I do! Want to feel my heartbeat?”
As Sarah took his hand to place it on her chest, she suddenly felt uneasy. It didn’t seem right to let him touch her there.
Holden was reserved, so he probably preferred a more demure woman. She decided she needed to be a little more ladylike.
Noticing her hesitation, Holden turned her hand over and held it firmly. “What’s wrong? Are you shy?”
Sarah nodded.
He kissed her forehead gently and wrapped her in his embrace.
Sarah found herself distracted-one moment thinking about Lucy’s delicious food, and the next wondering if Holden was planning to sleep with her. She didn’t know if it would hurt, but the last time she used her hands to help him meet his physiological needs, she was so tired and sore for several days……
Lost in her thoughts, Holden’s big hand pressed against her chest, his voice low and icy. “Sarah, are you starting to love me?”
She murmured, “Yes.”
Of course, she loved him. It was the only time in her life she had felt such a thrill. She probably really, really loved him.
He held her gently, his lips brushing softly against hers, then deepening the kiss.
As he penetrated her, a tearing pain spread through her, and he kissed her tenderly, helping her adjust before gradually quickening his thrusts…
After a long, long time,, Holden held her wrists, lowered his head, and kissed her palm. “You took my first night,” he murmured, “and since you touched me, you’re never going to touch anyone else.”
Even Sarah, as bold as she was, couldn’t help blushing deeply at his words, her pale face turning crimson. After a moment, she whispered, “So… does that mean you’re not divorcing me?”
Holden’s cold, thin lips brushed against Sarah’s fingertips. “If you dare to mention divorce, Ronald is as good as dead.”
Sarah couldn’t quite figure out why mentioning her divorce with Ronald would mean his doom. But looking at the current situation… it seemed like Ronald wasn’t doing so well without Holden’s support.
Whether that unfortunate guy lived or died really didn’t concern Sarah at all.
