Peter quickly caught up with Ronald.
At that moment, Ronald looked like he was ready to kill someone.
Peter forced a laugh. “Hey, what’s up, man? Why’d you run off in front of Sarah like that?”
Ronald felt irritated, but he couldn’t pinpoint why.
Peter patted him on the shoulder. “Looks like Sarah’s finally given up. She won’t be chasing you around anymore. Isn’t that good?”
Ronald sneered, “What’s it to you?”
“Come on, you’re taking it out on me? That’s not cool,” Peter shook his head. “Are we still friends, or are you trying to have it both ways-your dream girl and your Cinderella?”
Peter hit a nerve, and Ronald snapped, “What are you even talking about?”
Peter chuckled. “Let’s just grab a drink. I’ve met some gorgeous girls-big breasts, tiny waists, long legs. You’ll love it.”
That night, a light rain fell over City N, and the neon lights flickered in the wet streets.
Ronald felt a deep ache, though he couldn’t figure out why. He was the one who had made this choice, but what hurt him so much?
When they reached the hotel, the staff helped with parking and held umbrellas for them.
A Rolls-Royce pulled up next to them, and the driver stepped out, opening an umbrella and the car door. A man in a black suit emerged, his side profile handsome and deep, exuding an air of cool indifference.
Peter glanced over. “Damn, that guy looks amazing! Which rich kid is he? I wish I could look like that in my next life.”
Ronald saw him too, his face stiffening as jealousy surged within him.
Holden noticed the attention and gave a slight smile.
Peter muttered, “Whoa, he seems pretty friendly.”
Ronald clenched his jaw and suddenly spoke up. “Don’t worry, Sarah’s just throwing a fit. She’s loved me for years; you think she’d give up that easily?”
Peter didn’t know why Ronald brought up Sarah again, but as a friend, he had to support him. “Of course! Who doesn’t know Sarah’s into you? She’s crazy about you! Honestly, she looked stunning today-way better than any girl I’ve seen.”
Ronald replied coldly, “She’s been calling me nonstop, and driving me nuts. Time to block her for a bit and have some peace.”
Holden kept walking, his expression unchanged, coldly instructing the driver beside him, “Have the hotel manager kick those two out permanently.”
The driver hesitated. “Young Master, but this hotel isn’t owned by the Smith family.”
Holden replied, “After today, it will be.”
Ronald and Peter called a few friends over to hang out, and filling a table with both guys and girls.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
The hotel manager looked apologetic and informed them that they couldn’t have a sex party and needed to check out.
Peter exploded. “Compensate us? Do you think I care about a little cash? We’re just having drinks and chatting; it’s not like we’re doing anything illegal! You can’t talk to us like that! I’ll report you so you’ll never work again!”
The whole group of friends, along with a few pretty girls, felt it was super embarrassing to be asked to leave.
Ronald tried to flex his identity, claiming he knew the hotel’s owner. “I’ll just call your boss.”
The manager smiled. “Sure.”
Ronald called three times without a response, completely unaware that the hotel owner had already blocked his number after receiving Holden’s assistant’s request to buy the hotel.
With so many eyes on him, Ronald was losing face.
The manager asked, “Do you really know our boss?”
Ronald was about to explode! He really did know him! That was his parents’ friend! At a party last time, he even called the guy “uncle” while sharing drinks.
This hotel was one of the high-end spots in City N; Ronald had to have crossed paths with the owner at some point.
But now, with everyone watching, he just couldn’t get through.
A young girl murmured, “What’s going on? Are we really getting kicked out?”
The manager politely said, “If you don’t leave, we’ll have to call the police.”
Peter started to panic. “We’re leaving! This hotel is trash! I’ll never stay here again!”
Among the girls he brought, some were from the escort scene, doing more upscale transactions. If the police got involved, a quick look at the transfer records could lead to trouble for everyone.
Neither Ronald nor Peter had ever faced such an embarrassing situation in their lives.
They wanted to impress the girls, but now they had lost all dignity.
Outside, it was raining, and while Ronald and Peter had a car, most of the girls had taken cabs. They had arrived looking stunning in their dresses and makeup, but now, getting kicked out had left them looking disheveled and miserable.
Holden had been having a business dinner on the hotel’s top floor, and he was just coming down.
One girl couldn’t help but complain, “Mr. Ronald, Mr. Peter, this is the first time I’ve ever been thrown out of a hotel! It’s raining; where are we supposed to go now?”
Peter wasn’t feeling great either. Her comment stung his pride. “It’s just a bad day. If they can’t give me face, at least give Ronald some.”
Ronald’s face was as dark as a skillet. Then he saw Holden. The driver opened the car door for Holden, and before leaving, Holden smiled at Ronald.
That was it-Ronald completely lost it.
Watching the girl still rambling on, Ronald shoved her, saying, “Stop being so dramatic! You’re just a gold digger, and you’re out here selling yourself, and you’ve got the nerve to complain? Who asked you to talk?”
The girl froze, too scared to respond.
Peter didn’t expect Ronald to push her; they usually didn’t do such low-class stuff. It didn’t look good for a man to be rough with a girl. He quickly tried to smooth things over. “Ronald’s just drunk. Everyone, just chill. I’ll call some cars to make sure everyone gets home safely.”
The girl he pushed was sniffing and quietly crying, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.
She knew that while Ronald couldn’t do much to the hotel owner, as a wealthy and powerful second-generation rich kid, he could easily make life difficult for her and take out his frustrations on someone like her.
