CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND FIFTY-EIGHT
BURKE’S POV
I stood there shocked, I couldn’t even say a word, why would she let Hayley come in between us, “cat, cat I can explain we don’t have to do this, we haven’t gotten to this stage of our lives”, it was a misunderstanding.
“Yeah I know, there is always a misunderstanding with you Burke, you’ve hurt me countless times and I can’t seem to understand why, I’m done, I’m fucking done with you Burke”, she cried.
“No no no cat, come on I’m going to put an end to this Hayley problem once and for all, you can just want to leave me like that”, I said.
She came out of the water with her, beautiful physique staring right into my face with her beautiful blue swimsuit which took the shape of her body. I mean who can I lose this goddess, I’m not that stupid.
“Burke that’s good for you and for me and the kids we would be out of your hair in a few days I’ve reached out to a few of my people in Chicago, they would be here to help me pack up my stuff, I’ll leave you mansion for you and your mistress to have the time of your lives all by yourself”, she replied me Sarcastically.
” The kids, you can’t do that Cat, they are also my kids and besides we can sort this thing out you do not have to move out”, I said kneeling but Catherine blatantly chose to ignore me.
” Your kids? “, she chuckled.
” You’ve been out of their lives for how many years and guess what we didn’t bother missing you, and the few years you come back all you want to do is ruin my children’s childhood. You know what fuck you Burke, you are a fucking cunt and I regret ever Falling in love with”, she burst into uncontrollable tears I couldn’t help but rush to her and place her on my chest so she could lean on something.
“I’m sorry cat, I am so so sorry”, I whispered I’m her ears.
Well, my words fell on deaf ears as the cat pushed me off her. “Get the fuck off me, I do not ever want to see you close to me again”, she said as she ran off.
Damn, at this point I do not know what to do. I let the woman I love down over and over again. I wouldn’t even look her in the eye if I were a cat, I understand how she feels betrayed.
I ran after her hoping that I could find her but I stopped, she didn’t want me around, she needed a lot of time to herself and I was going to give her space. All I can hope for now is that Diago’s men give me tangible information, as I was lost.
I went up to rest my heavy head and have been doing a lot of thinking lately and none of my thoughts has even come out tangible.
I heard a knock on the door “Who is it?”, I asked
“It’s me, no it’s us, Daddy”, the triplets voice came from outside it was chaotic.
I went to open the door and they all rushed to hug me.
“Daddy, Daddy, mummy said we should pack a bag and that we would be going to Chicago for a while, I am really happy, I miss Chicago, hope you are coming along Daddy”, Ricky asked excitedly.
“Sure, sure I am, I want to see what makes you all excited about Chicago that’s not here in the mansion”, I gave out a fake smile.
“Well, you will know soon”, Nikky replied, jumping all over the place.
I was about to caution her running around when Diago walked in
“My Lord, can I see you for a moment”, he looked really worried.
“Okay kids, Daddy has some work to do, don’t worry when I am done, I’ll come spend some time playing with you guys”, I quickly dismissed them and shut the door behind me.
“What’s the matter, hope you found something tangible?”, I asked worriedly.
” Yeah, well my guys did some digging and tailed Hayley and she ends up in this cunt’s house in Chicago, I don’t know who he is but I feel like everything she is onto is kinda connected to this guy because from the information I got from my men, they were arguing about a child, somewhat like an unborn child but he wasn’t sure”, he said.
“Hmm, sounds strange why would Hayley argue about her child with someone else, I know they don’t have any brothers, but I think you would have to take me to see this man,” I said.
“Okay, that’s no problem, just get ready I’ll take you to my informant, and from there we will go and see how this person looks and I will be by your side all the way because this kind of thing is dangerous and you cannot go all by yourself”, he said.
“, yeah, yeah sure I’ll be ready in a minute”, I replied.
I’ll be downstairs waiting for you, he stood up from the sofa to open the door, once the door came open I couldn’t help but call his name
“Diago, thank you for all you do for me and my family man”, I said.
” Yeah, you are welcome, you are my family too, hurry up I’ll be down”, he said.
I hurriedly put in one or two, I don’t know what made me say I want to see this mysterious man Hayley’s been talking to, I guess it’s my curiosity.
I hurried down and we drove off to his informant’s place. He is a tall, dark-skinned, fiercely looking man, who is about 6 ‘2, inches tall. He is definitely not a man who likes pleasantries or greetings so I kept my greetings to myself.
We hopped into the car and drove off, in no distant time we were in Chicago, and we monitored the house from where they saw they Hayley and her mysterious man came out for but there was no one there, I almost fell asleep while waiting for someone whom I thought would never show up and then boom someone comes out of the house ..
“There, there he is, that’s the man she was arguing about with her unborn child, he was telling her to pay up the money or he comes clean with the identity of the baby”, Diago’s informant said .
” Wait, what, baby, what baby?”, I asked as I strained my eyes to get a glimpse of who it was .
” Jaxon, that’s Jaxon, cat’s ex”. I said in disbelief.
At that moment I realized that Jaxon is responsible for Hayley’s pregnancy.
