CATHERINE’S POV
I do not want to really leave Burke because my heart is with him, I know what he did to me was really heartbreaking but I needed to put an end to this Hayley of bad news and I can only do that if I’m here with the pack, in the mansion, I won’t be able to do that in Chicago. I only said those things so that Burke would feel bad for what he did to me.
I hurried to Nikky’s room as she was the only one who understood what was happening, she was there when I was kidnapped and manhandled by Hayley.
“Mum, how many times do I have to tell you to always knock before entering, it’s proper courtesy, Mum, you know these things”, she said rolling her eyes.
“Well, at this point in our lives we do not need courtesy, all we need to do is to be up and active”, I replied.
“Yeah I know, and besides you are the one that said we are going to Chicago, what a good way to be up and active “, she replied Sarcastically.
Don’t talk to me that way someone needed to put your father in place, he hurt me you know, I don’t even know why I can’t find myself leaving him, it’s like leaving the right place, with him my heart is in the right place”, I said out loud without even caring about the fact that she is just a child.
” Oooh well, mum, slow down slow down, I don’t know what you are talking about and if it’s something really important, I shouldn’t be the one you’d be talking to about it you know”, she said jokingly.
” Don’t laugh at me you know, you’d be in that situation one day, in a situation where one person would make you vulnerable and it would feel like you are nothing without that person”, I said with a smile on my face.
” Okay, okay that’s enough, what are you here for mum, when you walked in here you acted like it was really important?”, she asked with her brows up.
” Yeah, yeah, it’s about Hayley, you know she has been up to some bullshit lately, ooooh my goodness sorry about my language but you get what I am talking about, though and Nikky you are a powerful witch you have to find a way to stop her, you know I never really told you I stole grandma El’s body because I wanted to implicate her with the dead body but somehow the body managed to slip out of my hands”, I said with my face down, I couldn’t look up to her face because I felt ashamed of what I did.
“Oooh mum, that was you, it all makes sense now”, she said.
“Wait, what, I don’t understand?”, I asked curiously.
” Well, I saw the body at the coven, I thought it was one of the witches that took it, you know because of all the numerous rituals that needed to be performed because Grandma El was also a witch, and then it went missing, and then suddenly the death potion, you dead a dead witch body for a death potion spell to work, it was when Hayley came with the death potion spell that I knew she would be the one that stole the body from the coven, but I never could have thought you moved it from here”, she answered.
” Wait, it was Hayley who took the body, Gosh I should have known”, I stamped my feet on the ground.
“How is she always a step ahead of me?”I grumbled.
“Well, what can I say, thank the moon goddess that you have a powerful witch like me in your life. That was a shitty move for you to make mum,” she teased.
” Language, language girl, you are still a child and besides it was Ava who gave me the idea I was desperate so I bought it, it would have worked you know but Hayley had to be a step ahead of me”, I said.
” Okay okay, let’s scratch that, it’s all in the past now we are supposed to be focused on getting Hayley out of our lives for good, oooh mum before I forget do you know dad is not responsible for her pregnancy?”, she asked happily.
“Yeah I know, I found out, but don’t be too happy she and your dad are having an affair by the way, there is no use, all I want for her now is for her to pay for her crimes, do you have any idea on how we can pin her down?”, I asked.
“Nah, I don’t but give me a little time to figure things out, she wouldn’t know what hit her this time”, she said.
Before I could utter another statement the door came off, like a truck had passed through it.
“Look, are you two, twats, cunt, idiots, looking for how to get to me but would never be able to, because as you have said earlier I am always ahead”, she laughed …
” You slimy little bitch you show your face here and still dare to eavesdrop on my conversation?”, I asked.
” What so special in your conversation, oooh I know the fact that my name was mentioned, I understand why you are so paranoid now, and as for you Nikky, I gave you just one job and you screw it up, you are as foolish as your mother”, she said.
I got pissed by her statement, “You don’t talk to my child that way”, I said angrily.
” Take a chill pill Catherine I’ll get you out of my way soon, you’d be wishing you never met me”, she laughed.
“Leave, I got up from the bed and headed to the door to show her the exit, ” I said Leave Hayley”, I yelled at her.
