EVOLET
With all what Cadell had said, we decided to leave Wolf Fall before that sorceress and the Queen pay us an unexpected visit.
We didn’t want to take that risk by staying back to find out.
Who knows what that old woman has gathered to use against me, if she suspects me to be the spirit wolf.
“But we have been so careful from the very beginning. How did that woman get a hint?” I pointed out, following Cadell from the side, since he was holding mine and Mom’s hand.
Trent was with Derby, following us from behind.
We had no time to take anything from the house, except our phones. Our steps grew further away from my home and straight into the Woods.
“She’s a witch after all. Surely she must have done something or noticed a mistake from our end. But what exactly?” Trent shared his own point, getting restless about this problem.
We were all troubled and needed to get away from them as soon as possible.
Just then, Cadell came to a halt, stopping us from moving further.
“What happened?” I asked, noticing how he hovered his eyes around, suspiciously.
Before he could speak, I began to pick up the scents of a lot of werewolves in the woods!
The smell was familiar. I was astonished when I recognized where I’ve perceived those wolves from before.
Cadell and I weren’t the only ones who noticed their presence.
“We have to fall back for now,” Trent said, placing his hand on Cadell’s shoulder.
He too had picked the smell.
That’s the scent of many guards in the forest, waiting for any drama to unfold!
I can’t tell the number. They are a lot!
This is Thelma’s doing. She must have predicted our next moves and placed these guards in the forest, under the pretext of protecting Wolf Fall from the vampires and the rogue.
She saw this coming.
Cadell didn’t argue with this but agreed to Trent’s words. But he made it clear that we won’t be heading back to the house, just to be on a safer side.
“We need a place to stay until the coast is clear,” Cadell said, making a U turn immediately.
As we followed him, Trent suggested a place for us to hide in. “I rented that apartment for Derby during her crises with her family. The place is still available for us. We can stay there,” He said.
“That will do. Let’s go.”
Quickly, we hurried back into the pack and made our way to this place Trent spoke about.
When we arrived at the location, we were suddenly saved by the Goddess from the enemy’s eyes!
“Look!” Derby had alerted us when we stepped into the building.
We haven’t even entered the building fully when we saw the royal family’s cars zooming into the road that leads to my home!
They’re coming for us, just like Cadell said!
“Goddess!” Mom gasped, clinging to me worriedly.
Her grip said a lot. She’s afraid of what would happen if the sorceress and the Queen gets their hands on me.
When she turned to face me, I felt my confidence dying down slowly. It became hard to smile without thinking about my life being in danger.
I still need to know what our mistake was, Goddess.
What did we do wrong?
My racing heart came to rest when Cadell’s arm came around me. He sensed my fear and said with a smile on his face, “You’ll be fine. I won’t allow anything to happen to you, I promise.”
His assurance gave me strength.
I smiled back at him and nodded, clinging myself to my pervy wolf.
Together, we went over to the room and hid ourselves there.
Cadell decided to step out and find a better way out of the pack without anyone, not even the sorceress, knowing.
I didn’t want him to leave, but I gave in since he’s the only one who can move around without being caught by the Royal family or that old hag.
“I’ll get us out of this, okay?”
“Okay,” I nodded, feeling Cadell’s hands cupping my face passionately.
My pervy wolf is trying to make me feel better, even though he’s troubled about my safety the most.
He doesn’t want me to get scared no matter what.
“Remember you aren’t the weak omega of before. What you have is greater than any werewolf that has stood before you, even me as well.” He pointed at my necklace, indicating the spirit wolf inside my body.
“When we leave this place to a safer ground, I’m going to tell you something which you must know. It will answer all your questions about this gift in you,” Cadell said, making my heart skip.
Finally, he’s going to give me all the information about how and why I have the late Luna’s wolf inside of me.
I really can’t wait to know why she picked me. Is it because my parents helped Cadell years back?
So many questions and answers to be attended to.
“No one should leave this place until I’m back. Trent will also stay here to watch over you three. It’s best for him as well,” Cadell said, directing his eyes to Trent’s direction.
Kitty had Derby in his hold, calming her fear just like Cadell was doing with me.
He nodded at Cadell’s words, obeying his order.
I believed he wanted Trent to stay because of what happened at the arena. We aren’t sure if Thelma recognized something from him after his first appearance at the pack.
The big man is keeping everyone safe from danger.
“If you end up missing me too much, don’t forget to squeeze this while picturing me in your head,” Cadell said with a naughty smile, pointing at the necklace around my neck.
“I’ll fly down here and give you all the kisses you want, okay?” He winked.
My face came blooming at his words. He’s such a crazy pervert, and that’s why he’s my pervy wolf.
I love him so much.
Emotional, I buried myself right in Cadell’s hold, and said, missing him already, “Don’t stay too long.”
“I’ll try,” he said, squeezing me tight.
After speaking to Mom to comfort her heart, Cadell left to find a way out for us.
I would have asked him why he didn’t allow us to take the chance with those guards at the forest, but It seems Cadell didn’t just pick their scent but felt something else.
Otherwise, when Trent advised us to step back, he would have taken the opposite move and made sure we all leave the forest quickly.
“He must have felt something. Maybe Thelma placed a trap around the woods to prevent me from leaving,” I suspected, looking down at my necklace.
“If I had a bit of the power unleashed, maybe I’d have felt it. But that would have given my location to the sorceress too. Goddess, help us!” I groaned, falling into bed.
“Are you okay?” Mom asked, sitting beside me.
I sat up and replied her, “A bit. Just worried about our safety.”
“I understand you, dear. This troubling feeling is really disturbing. It reminds me of the intense battle with all the creatures many years back. That fear to step out into the open and end up being caught by the enemies… It’s like history is repeating itself in a different way,” Mom said, taking my mind to Luna Violet.
The way she was betrayed and killed by her own friend brutally, and even taken away from the one she loves… I won’t allow those two to get to me.
I need to be strong.
“This time, everything will be different,” I said to Mom, getting my confidence back.
“Before they get to me, we’ll make sure their truth is exposed completely to everyone. They need to know that their Luna was taken away from them by Chriselda. But in order to get this done…” My attention fell on Trent, who sat next to Derby in a corner on the floor.
An idea was popping into my head. One I hope and pray to the Goddess that it’ll work without it leading to a disaster.
“Trent,” I called, getting the attention of the two lovebirds.
“I have a plan that might help us after we leave this place. It will involve the entire Werecat armies,” I said, surprising them.
I explained myself to the trio, so they’ll see where I’m heading at.
“If the whole werewolves see the Werecats with me and I get to reveal myself to them as the late Luna’s bearer, then we have a chance against Chriselda and Thelma. I’ll get to expose and end their reign,” I pointed out.
Derby and Mom found this idea great, but Trent wasn’t fully satisfied with it.
He made a point which I had to agree with him on. “Won’t that witch claim you’re under the Werecat’s control or something? You know they mostly blamed my kind for the Luna’s death?”
“Unless it’s not just the Werecats that show up with Evolet, but two different creatures. That will surely make an opening,” Derby pointed, making another path in this plan.
That’s when I thought of someone who we need to convince on this plan too.
“Looks like we’ll be needing the Vampire Queen’s help. We need Scarlet,” I said, getting bothered about this.
Convincing her is going to be a hard task, but we just need to find and make her understand we aren’t enemies.
“That woman? Ah Geez,” Derby groaned, feeling uncomfortable.
Trent also had something to say about the vampires. He doesn’t like them one bit.
Only Mom asked, “Are you sure there’s a chance in convincing that Queen?”
“I know I have a chance if I show her my other side. Scarlet… she’s no stranger to Luna Violet,” I added, flashing to the vision I had.
“I know I can get through to her.”
Trent sighed and accepted my plan. He agreed to show his support and get his men to join us when the time is right.
“It’s a good thing that sorceress Thelma’s shield is no longer standing in our way. She’d have picked the aura of all the armies coming into the pack and gotten herself ready to fight back,” Derby said, laughing on that.
But her words brought about a shocking realization to me! One I never thought of till now!
“Crap!” I exclaimed, placing my hand on my forehead.
“What happened?” They all asked when I reacted that way.
I had no choice but to share it. After all, this involves us all.
“When the shield was still up, Thelma could easily tell who went in and out of Wolf Fall. It was that same shield that helped in proving those cubs didn’t cross into the pack but got kidnapped instead.”
“Yes, that’s true.”
“But why the shield? It’s long gone.”
“Yes, it’s long gone. But at that time, Cadell couldn’t cross it because the sorceress had used something to make that shield strong enough to trace him no matter where he goes,” I shared, surprising them.
“Seriously? I thought those things can’t work on him?” Trent asked, still amazed by this.
I responded, “It’s the same thing I just asked myself, Trent. And I now know why such magic was made possible. That’s…”
“That’s because a part of the late Luna was used to create it,” Mom completed, delivering the right answer.
Derby and Trent were surprised by this discovery.
“A part of her?” Derby uttered, holding her stomach in disgust.
“By part, I meant her power,” Mom pointed out.
“Cadell can’t be affected by other spells placed by sorcerers or sorceresses, except for the spirit wolf. He had a deep connection with the late Luna and her powers are also strong,” she added, giving us more insight on this matter.
Trent was amazed. He then asked, pointing at the pendant taken by Thelma, “But she took the dust belonging to you, Eve. Does that mean she can track Cadell now?”
“No, I doubt that,” I swayed my head at this, knowing well that the little dust isn’t strong enough to give her all the strength she needs to fish someone like Cadell from the sea.
But something else gave us out without the sorceress using her powers to search.
“Thelma can pick everyone’s scent, including the spirit wolf’s. But she can’t pick Cadell’s smell because he’s a Dark blood.”
“Wait, you mean…”
“Yes, that smart old woman figured out through Wolfy. She must have noticed his scent was hard to detect despite claiming to be a normal wolf. Only Cadell possesses that ability!” I revealed, finally getting the answer.
This news got Mom, Derby, and Trent disturbed. They were finding this hard to process, but I know Thelma figured it out through my Pervy wolf.
If picking the scent of the spirit wolf has failed her, then the opposite won’t.
That will explain that night I was searching for Allen in the mansion. When she caught me and I claimed I was searching for Wolfy, she became confused after attempting to pick his scent.
I never placed that in mind until now.
She must have reasoned the whole thing from his appearance into the pack when the shield was still active, till today.
If he was indeed a normal wolf, she would have known when he stepped into Wolf Fall. But due to the Luna hunt and other preparations, she didn’t think to that point until now.
“No wonder she wanted to touch me. She was suspicious of me as well,” Trent pointed, stunned by the sorceress’s intelligence.
“Such lovely companions? Such a bright coloured creature that dwells in our land? You remember all these words from her, don’t you?” Trent asked Derby and I, reminding us of Thelma’s approach at the arena.
A clear confirmation.
“She knew right there that this Omega wasn’t just a magnet to animals, but someone intriguing to the eyes,” Trent said, hitting on that.
That’s how Cadell’s suspicion came about. He was swift to understand that woman’s behavior.
“We need to leave this place before they find us,” I said, holding Mom’s hand.
“They won’t get us, neither are we going to allow them to stay in power any longer. They don’t deserve that throne. They stole it,” I said with full confidence, getting fired up.
“When Cadell returns with good news, we’ll leave Wolf Fall and gather our armies from both the Werecats and Vampires.”
The battle line has been drawn.
