EVOLET
“You finally did it! Now let’s see how that disgusting family escapes this,” Mom said, getting excited.
We arrived a few hours ago after her majesty canceled the hunt.
Her decision left the other damsels raged, but it was the best announcement we ever heard.
That was our golden ticket out of that mansion.
“Those poor girls. I feel so bad knowing that that animal had his way with most of them. I hope they can recover from the pains he inflicted on them.”
“I hope so too,” I supported, leaning against the wall while directing my eyes at the guys.
Both Cadell and Trent were talking about something in a corner. Cadell’s behavior has been troubling me ever since we arrived from the mansion.
I don’t know how to put it, but I think he’s bothered about something.
Is he still worried about the fact that Mom almost got harmed by Beta Dean? Or is he afraid of something else?
“What about Chriselda?” Mom asked, getting all desperate for the Queen’s downfall.
“Didn’t you get something to use against her?”
“Oh, Cadell did,” Derby answered, winking at her. “Just wait and see how the magic unfolds.” D giggled, poking me on the arm.
Mom’s face became bright once again. She couldn’t wait for Chriselda’s reign to end for good.
It’s the same thing we’re all waiting for. And once that video is uploaded, Chriselda will fall.
“Until then, let’s celebrate your return from the witch’s cave. Dinner is on me.”
“YEAH!!” Derby rejoiced, throwing her arms in the air.
Her voice attracted both Trent and Cadell’s attention. They had to look at our direction, wondering what was going on.
“We’re having a little party,” Derby shared, rushing up to Trent.
Since Mom made her move into the kitchen, I decided to meet with Cadell and find out why my Pervy Wolf is lost.
Derby had Trent following her into the passage that led to my room, while I stood next to Cadell, who had his eyes looking out through the window, staring.
Once we were alone, I asked, carefully taking hold of his hand, “Are you okay?”
He turned to look at me with a heart warming smile and replied, “Yeah, I am. Are you okay?”
“Funny that you’re asking me that question, Old man. But if you want to know, then… Yeah, I’m okay too,” I chuckled, clinging to him.
He hummed softly with his lip curved to the side, before navigating his attention back to the window, looking outside.
Seeing how focused and lost he was, I said, tightening my grip on him, “I know you’re not okay, Cadell. You’re worried about something. You’re still thinking about the stunt Chriselda pulled on Mom, aren’t you?”
His eyes fell on me, staring deep into my gaze.
It’s easy for me to know when my Cadell is troubled about something. We are connected deeply by heart, mind, and soul.
“Cadell, look,” I said, taking both of his hands in mine, and giving them a little squeeze of comfort.
“You handled that problem already. You saved Mom from the Beta before he could touch her. She’s saved, thanks to you.”
“But Evolet.”
“Cadell, please.” I cupped his face, pulling him closer. With a kiss to his lips, I said, looking into his eyes, “I don’t like it when you’re dull. It doesn’t suit you, and it makes me sad.”
He sighed, tilting his head into my palm innocently.
Seeing this, I smiled at him and said, caressing that lovely cheek, “Everything is going to be fine. We are going to win this fight soon, okay?”
“Okay, your highness.” He simpered, pulling himself closer to me.
With his arms wrapping my body, Cadell and I ended up embracing each other dearly.
It’s clear that my pervy wolf wanted this all along. He needed my warmth to feel okay.
At least he’s out of that zone.
Once we have Chriselda’s secret out in the open, we’ll no longer have to hide ourselves anymore.
We’ll set things right.
.
After our mini celebration, I took Derby into the next room which was closer to mine, so I could get it ready for her and Trent to stay in.
When she heard my plans for her and Kitty Cat… “For us?” Her face flushed red immediately.
“Yeah, for you and Trent. Is there a problem?” I asked, smirking at her.
“A problem? No, not at all. I mean… We’re back home now and I think there’s no need for him to stay with me since we’re all together and that crazy Alpha isn’t here to spy on us and…”
“Derby, relax.” I placed my hands on her shoulder, calming her mood before she explodes.
“You don’t have to hide it from me. I know what’s going on between you and Trent,” I revealed, winking at her.
When Derby heard this, her cheeks came burning red in embarrassment. She wasn’t expecting it.
“Oh Goddess! You knew all this time?” she asked innocently.
I shrugged with a response, “Something like that. Well, let’s say I wasn’t sure at first, but yours and Trent’s behavior, as well as Cadell’s information, brought the truth out.”
“It was obvious? Oh Crap! We thought we were keeping it low. It must have been me! I ruined the surprise,” Derby blamed herself, feeling guilty.
I didn’t know is I should laugh or not. Derby was acting funny.
“Don’t be mad at us, Eve. Trent and I had planned to tell you about our relationship after this battle. It was meant to be a surprise for you. I knew my feelings would end up blowing everything up. It’s hard for me to resist Trent whenever he’s around. ARGH!” She groaned, covering her face.
Her attitude got me laughing. I found it so adorable.
“Derby, Why will I be mad at you two? This is exactly what I’ve been praying for,” I said, pulling her hands off her face, so I could have a clear view of that beautiful glow on her cheeks.
She looked back at me with guilt and apologized once again for keeping the truth away.
I chuckled at Derby and said, pulling her towards the bed to have a seat with me, “I’m not mad, okay? I’m so happy! You don’t know how long I’ve been praying to the Goddess to open Trent’s eyes and see how much you love him. This is so good!”
I shrieked, shaking Derby’s hands crazily.
My action brought laughter to her face. She was finally getting into the spirit.
“So, who made the first move? Was it you? And when? How?!” I asked curiously.
Derby blushed and revealed everything to me. “No, Trent was the one who took the step, not me. That was back at his pack when we all went for a stroll in the woods.”
“Oh my Goodness! It’s the same time Cadell… AHHH!” I screamed, jumping on her.
Derby had to clip my lips so that the guys won’t hear our conversation.
“You don’t want them interrupting our girl time, do you?”
“Nope. It’s just you and me.” I ran an invisible lock on my lips, causing Derby to cackle.
She went on to express her happiness over Trent’s desire to be with her.
I was so happy when I saw how she laughed, smiled, and spoke of Kitty with so much love in her eyes for him.
My favorite part is where Trent confessed his love to Derby without anyone telling him the truth about his feelings for her.
Gosh! How I wish I was there to witness the whole magical moment.
I feel so happy for her.
“Now, we’re a thing.” She giggled, tucking her hair to the back of her ear, adorably.
Touched, I felt my spirit moving me to do something for my bestie. I just wanted to give her a gift to show my… Ah Yes! This should do it.
“Here, take this,” I said, handing Derby the bracelet Sorcerer Cyrus gave to me.
“I want you to have this. See it as a gift from your sister.”
“Evolet, this… Thank you,” Derby appreciated, throwing a hug at me.
I wrapped my arms around her body and gave her a big tight squeeze, expressing my joy in her new found life with Trent.
“I can’t wait to see my bestie as a Luna!” I shrieked again, burying my face on her shoulder.
Derby was caught up in her emotions. She refused to let go, but stayed in my hold, getting all teary.
“Thank you, Eve. You are the best.”
“I’m always here for you, sis. Always.” I comforted her.
.
The following morning, we heard rumors about the Queen organizing a gathering at the arena, to speak on the video involving her son.
Knowing that the people of Wolf Fall will be there, we decided to unleash the final blow on Chriselda and see how everyone attacks her.
When the video got released, we all watched how the Queen switched from powerful to powerless.
Everyone turned against her without hesitation!
“Finally!” Mom rejoiced, hugging Cadell and I.
We were all over the moon, except for Cadell who was just watching with a smile on his face.
“She’s busted! Nowhere to hide now,” I laughed, clinging myself to my pervy wolf.
Just when the elders were about to remove Chriselda from power, Sorceress Thelma stepped in and ruined it all!
“What is she doing?” I uttered when Thelma began defending the Queen and making mention of the vampires.
“This old witch is changing everything!” Derby exclaimed in shock when the sorceress made mention of the vampires using dark magic to manipulate the pack.
But that was not all.
“Worst, they have joined hands with the Rogue your Queen has been hunting down for long. They came into our pack and killed your Beta!” Thelma lied, claiming Cadell is together with the vampires!
But the part of Beta Dean’s death… How did she know it was Cadell’s doing?
I was stunned by this old woman’s words!
She’s using my Cadell to save Chriselda!
Her statement forced me to look at Pervy Wolf immediately. He was staring at the screen in anger.
I bet he’s not angry with her lies only, but with the fact that she turned the tables on us swiftly.
The plan is ruined!
“They thought their attack on us was successful.” I turned to face the screen, looking straight at Thelma and Chriselda.
The boldness in the sorceress’s eyes began to trouble my spirit.
“But thanks to the Goddess for using wonderful souls like Evolet, we won the battle that night,” she mentioned my name, praising me.
The moment we all heard this… “We have to leave,” Cadell ordered immediately, taking me by the hand.
His sudden command left us worried.
Before I could ask him why, he said, looking into my eyes, “It’s clear that Chriselda wasn’t the only one meddling in our matter, but that old hag. Thelma has been carrying out her own mission in the secret.”
“What?” We got confused, wondering where and how he got to know all this.
It would turn out that Cadell has been extremely observant while we were staying at the mansion.
His eyes were wide opened.
“She has been absent from the mansion more than once. Suddenly, she sides with us when Chriselda accused you of the missing pendant, looking all strong from the energy she stole. She made an attempt to hold Trent at the arena the other day, despite Derby’s refusal. And the eye contact she gave you back afterwards… That woman knows something about us, Eve,” Cadell pointed, causing my heart to race with fear.
“I don’t know how and when, but Thelma knows you’re connected to the spirit wolf,” He said, putting it all together.
