EVOLET
“ARGH!!” Fiona roared, grabbing her rod and unleashing her wolf speed.
She didn’t care about the fact that Derby was close to me. She was bent on pouring her fury on the person she blames for her downfall.
As soon as she came closer, I swiftly but carefully pushed Derby out of the way, blocking Fiona’s attack with my weapon.
She groaned when I averted the first hit and continued to slam her rod from different angles, increasing her speed on me.
In my eyes, her movement looked sluggish. I could tell where she was coming from, giving me the chance to block every move she made.
“Why… Won’t… You… Fall?!” Fiona yelled, launching a kick to my face from front. I immediately moved away to the side and gave her an answer to her question, in form of a rod to her ribs.
“AHH!” She screamed in pain when I slammed her body, forcing her to draw back, tightening her grip on her weapon, and charging once again.
“Scatter her, Eve!” Derby screamed, cheering for me.
The crowds were chanting as well. I couldn’t tell who they were actually cheering for because of Fiona’s madness. She kept coming at me without backing out. And I did what I had to do to make sure someone’s daughter doesn’t head back home with broken bones.
“This fight will lead you nowhere, Fiona. You’re only embarrassing yourself,” I advised, blocking her rod from hitting my left arm.
“Just stop this!” I vented, reversing her own attack on her by striking her left hand as well.
Fiona cried out and held her arm, staggering back from my point with her breathe going heavy.
I know I didn’t hit her that much. If I did, she wouldn’t be standing there, glaring into my eyes like I’m the devil in human form.
“Look at her. She’s taking more than a minute to end a fight with an Omega she calls a weakling.”
“And the same person she’s struggling with can’t unleash her wolf. She’s using her normal form. Fiona is such a weakling.”
“Isn’t this enough to show that she has been cheating those other damsels? She’s no warrior. She’s a Phony!”
“What’s taking you so long, your majesty?!”
Everyone mocked Fiona, laughing at her. I hovered my eyes around to see how they all had their fingers pointed directly at her, talking about her shame.
Looking back at Fiona, I met her staring at the ground with her forehead suddenly sweating profusely. Her body vibrated at the people’s insults, taking in the abuses from every corner.
She can’t act like I didn’t warn her. She asked for a fight, and now that things aren’t going the way she wants, she’s trembling.
“Just end this nonsense and go home, Fiona. But if you still want to go on…”
“You must be a fool for thinking I’ll allow you to outshine me, Evolet!” She sparked, striking a hit close to my head!
I was quick to block it with my rod, but the impact was powerful! It made my hand vibrate, almost sending my weapon out of my hand!
“Go home, Fiona. Go and hide in the dark, Fiona! That’s what you want, now that you’ve gotten what you want! Isn’t that right, Wolfless Omega?!” She kept slamming her attack on me from all angles, adding combats to increase her chances for a defeat.
“You always had your eyes on my Allen! Instead of staying home with that poor mother of yours, you chose to ruin my life!” She gave a knee towards my face, almost getting my necklace hooked to her leg!
I had to flip backwards to prevent her from taking it off, clashing my rod with hers in a serious fight.
“Only girls like me are meant to dream big, Evolet. Where did you hear of a poor wolfless brat like yourself climbing to the top?! Who told you that you can make it big when everything about your family and home stinks of nothing but poverty?!”
Fiona was getting super serious. She became rough and nearly took off my necklace again. But in the process of protecting my secret, I paved way for Fiona to strike.
“Despite your status, I still sacrificed my honor to be seen around a shameless brat like you, all because you had no friends! I gave you the life you could never have and when I wanted you to back out from the hunt, you dared to backstab me!” She knocked off my rod from my hand, hitting my head hard with her pole!
“EVOLET!” Derby screamed.
There was murmuring around when Fiona landed a hit on me. But did I fall down to cry like a weakling? To hell with weakness!
I crossed that bridge a long time ago. I’m a different person entirely.
Now I’m not holding back.
Fiona swooshed her rod one more time at me, and I caught it with my hand, holding it tight!
She began to struggle to pull it away but couldn’t.
“Backstabbed you?” I tilted my head, picking that particular word while staring straight into Fiona’s eyes.
She glared at me, still trying hard to take her weapon out of my hold.
“I backstabbed you for openly sharing my plans with you as my friend? I backstabbed you for expressing my wishes to you?!” My voice came loud, echoing around.
Fiona’s struggle had begun to mellow down. She just stared back and even dared to speak, smirking at me, “Wishes my foot. They were all mine. You just stole it.”
“You want to see what backstabbing looks like upfront?” I questioned, dragging the pole, and pulling Fiona closer to me. “It goes like this!” I punched Fiona right in the mouth, sending her tumbling back on the ground.
“YES! BREAK HER OTHER CHEEKBONE!” Derby yelled, encouraging me.
My action drove the people insane. They cheered out loudly, advising me to finish Fiona.
She managed to get to her feet, grabbing my rod that she knocked off, to defend herself.
“You think I need a weapon to fight you? Girl, I’ve got these bad boys.” I tossed her rod to the ground and showed my fists, getting into position. “I will give you the fight you want. Come on!”
I’m fired up!
Fiona came at me, swinging her weapon at my body. Instead of moving away to avoid being hit, I used my arms and legs to block every hit, reversing the strike with a punch to her face, her chest, a kick to her head, a punch in the stomach, another on her face again… I was everywhere!
She couldn’t avoid it no matter how she struck back. I became her worst nightmare. I could see the fear in her eyes when I drew closer, landing a blow on her nose.
“I never asked you to be my friend. You were the one who came into my life to be my friend, my sister!”
I punched her again on the nose, watching that area turn red.
“When I needed your support in helping my home, you stabbed me right in the back and tried to wreck my home!” I kicked her right in the stomach, forcing Fiona to the floor.
” And you have the guts to call me a backstabber? No!” I grabbed the rod from her hand and lifted it to hit her head with it. But I paused, looking down at Fiona’s face. She was bleeding from her nose, gazing at me fearfully.
Tightening my hand on the rod, I slammed it out of my hold and said, “Even when we were taking part in the game, I tried my best to stay away from you so you can enjoy your moment. But you kept showing me how filthy and worthless you are.”
She breathed heavily, shaking.
“You claimed to have so many friends, but the moment you were portrayed a whore, they all agreed at once, calling you a cheat. And why is that…” I went down, grabbing her shirt and pulling her close, with my eyes glaring straight into hers with fury.
“It’s because they know quite well that you are indeed a backstabbing bitch. They never saw you as their friend. They were just using you. At least… I found a true best friend who gave me what your selfish ass kept bragging about.”
I tossed her back to the ground, rising to my feet.
Derby rushed up to me and threw her arms around my body for an embrace. “You did it! Finally my bestie has gotten the justice she deserves!” She cheered, hugging me tight.
Her sweetness bloomed my heart. I proudly hugged her, looking at Fiona so she’d see what she’s missing out.
She just laid there, unable to move.
“My baby!” I heard Fiona’s mother scream out from the excited crowds, barging out to meet her daughter.
She staggered back when she saw me close to Fiona. She was afraid to even get near.
“Let’s go, Derby,” I said, walking away from Miss High and Mighty.
Her mother finally came near, trying to get her up. “Why did you allow that weakling to beat you like this? Look at your beautiful face! Somebody help my baby girl!” She cried out, wiping her dress across Fiona’s bloody face.
No one gave a damn about Fiona’s condition. They were busy cheering my name and recording the moment.
“My God, Evolet. Your hand must be aching badly,” Derby said, getting worried. “The way you took those hits were terrifying. How were you able to withstand it?”
I just smiled at Derby and wrapped my arm around her, saying, “That’s why you’re my best friend. You always carry my best interest at heart.”
She grinned, hugging me again.
It’s best we don’t talk about the hits I took. I’m enjoying the sound of victory after paying Fiona for the problems she caused in my home.
I really gave her the beating of her life.
