EVOLET
“Ready?” Cadell asked.
I was on his back, rethinking my decision and the adventure that awaits me. Nodding, I responded, “Yeah, I’m ready.” Carefully, I wrapped my arms around him, hanging on tight.
“Alright, here we go.” Speedily, he dashed off, making his way for the forest.
I would have suggested the normal exit out of Wolf Fall, but one needs a pass to make that possible. Having none would only cause a problem for Cadell and I.
Well, I didn’t even bother to mention it but chose the best way out, and that’s the forest. It’s linked to so many areas and it’s the safest route for us.
I held Cadell close, watching him run pass buildings and people without being seen. That’s because of his speed. It’s beyond the normal pace of a werewolf and their eyes.
It made me admire his uniqueness, feeling glad to be close to someone like him, despite his craziness.
I can still recall the first time he carried me like this. He was running away from the guards and I somehow got tangled in the mess, making him a part of my life in a blink of an eye.
I took our coming together as destiny, but now I know it was meant to be. Cadell has always had his eyes on me for long, but I never knew until now.
He successfully ran pass the guards who were standing at the entrance of the forest, without being seen. It made me laugh because they don’t know that the Rogue they are trying to trap just went through them like they are nothing.
“Allen is just wasting his energy,” I mocked, holding Cadell closely.
He soon arrived at the spot were I first saw Sorceress’s Thelma’s barrier, crossing it easily, and proving the end of the Queen and her Sorceress’s invisible cage.
I still remembered the area and all our adventures that night. The foggy images of his wolves… It was Luna Violet’s past with Cadell. And his so-called goal he joked about? He wasn’t playing but meant every word. He really came for me. I was his goal all along.
“I came here for you, Evolet. And I’m not leaving Wolf Falls without you,” I replayed his words, feeling the warmth engulfing my heart.
My stubborn Cadell. He has been there in the shadows, watching over me for so long. He’s wonderful. That’s why he’s my Wolf.
“Finally out of Wolf Falls. Say hello to Red Hills Pack,” Cadell said, getting on a tree and racing to the top.
“Red Hills? Do they have a hill that’s all red?” I joked, ready to deliver another line and mock the pack. Only for us to get to the top and see something amazing.
There was a hill ahead of us and it had its city on it from top to bottom. The lights beaming from the city was indeed red, giving the pack its name. I was mesmerized. It looked so beautiful.
“Waw. Is that our destination?” I asked Cadell, still gazing at the beautiful pack.
“Hell no. Our destination is right behind that hill.” He pointed.
“What?!” I exclaimed, finding this stressful. “Can’t we just use this part of the forest near Red Hills?”
“Can’t we just use this part of the forest near Red Hills?” Cadell mimicked, using my tone of voice against me.
I dimmed my eyes at him and grabbed his right ear, threatening him, “I swear I’ll bite your ear off if you repeat that again.”
“Hohoho! Someone’s mad. How about you target the lips? That way it’ll be more fun.” He smirked, winking at me.
Groaning at his silliness, I slapped Cadell on the head while he laughed at me, pointing at his lips for me to see.
“The other side looks too far! Why can’t we just stay here?” I asked, looking at the glowing pack again.
That’s when Cadell gave me his reasons, opening my eyes clearly. ” One, this place is close to Wolf Fall. Two, it’s a pack that worships that evil Queen like some goddess. And three, If you decide to unleash your wolf here, that Old hag will easily get to you. Let’s just say she’ll contact the Sorcerer here and use give him the spell to that will…”
“I think I get the picture,” I grumbled, resting my head on Cadell’s shoulder. “Still, that place is far.”
“I’m sorry, who’s the one doing the running here?” He asked, lifting his brow at me.
This man! If he gets on my nerves one more time, I’m going to bite him on the neck! That’s a promise I’ll make sure I fulfil.
“Just say what’s in your mind than keeping it to yourself,” He smooched, annoying me further.
“CADELL!” I sparked, about to bite him, but I couldn’t carry out my attack because of the way he dashed off with speed, almost sending me flying into the air.
We made it pass the hill but still went further away from the pack. Once our distance was sure, Cadell dropped me down and said, “Now it’s safe.”
“Oh, thank you goddess.” I laid on the grass lazily, feeling tired.
“Hey, get up,” Cadell said, dragging me off the ground. I groaned at him, requesting for some minute to get myself. “I just want to rest.”
“Oh Okay! So, this handsome fellow that did all the running, jumping, flying and swimming… Don’t know how to rest, huh?” He grinned pointing, at himself.
I know were this is going, and I am not ready for it.
“Unless your so-called rest is your way of telling me you want to…” He smirked, rubbing his chin like a creep, and lifting his brows with delight. “You naughty girl. I didn’t know you were this crazy to get down to business. Come here let me give you some smooches.”
“Back off!” I yelled, pushing Cadell off.
He frowned at my action, crossing his arms.
“I don’t want to rest any more. Let’s get down to work and leave this place,” I said, getting set.
I was about to take off the necklace but Cadell immediately stopped me, saying, “You aren’t removing it completely.”
“Why? I thought you said…”
“Not completely,” he repeated, reaching for the wolf hanging on the necklace and taking it off. As soon as he did that, I felt my body vibrate. There was a lot of energy swelling inside me.
“Just that wolf is enough for you. I don’t want you burning this place with your madness,” he said, smiling at me.
Excitement filled my heart. I didn’t know what to do first.
Cadell stood aside and said, “You’ve lived with other werewolves, so it shouldn’t be hard.”
“Okay,” I replied, still trying to choose one. “Um… Running? Yeah, let me try that first.”
Taking my position, I decided to run to a tree which was close then back at the starting point, just to test my speed. But when I moved… “AHHH!” I ran into the tree and fell to the ground.
“Ha! Wonderful.” Cadell laughed, taking my picture with my phone. I don’t even know when he took it from my pocket!
Crazy man! I will show him.
Getting to my feet, I tried again but went through another tree, bringing it down. Cadell just followed me like my shadow, taking more embarrassing pictures and videos of me. “I’ll save this and name it MAD ABOUT TREES.”
“Cadell, I swear…”
“Don’t push me,” He threatened, showing me the wolf he took off from my necklace. “If you try to stop me, I’ll put this back and call it a night. Wanna test me?” He grinned, tilting his head to the side.
“Bully. I won’t forgive you after this,” I groaned, getting to my feet to try again.
“Smile for the camera!” Cadell yelled, rushing to my front to take my pic. I stuck my tongue out and dashed off, trying to control my speed.
I almost ran into another tree but swiftly averted it, getting a grip of myself, and making a U-turn back to Cadell’s point.
“BAM! Now we’re talking,” I bragged, dancing in Cadell’s front. He just stared at me, slowly curving his lips into a smile.
“What? You thought this girl was going to kiss another tree again? Well sorry! I proved you wrong!” I laughed, doing another silly dance.
Cadell said nothing but gazed with a smile, before looking to the side to hide the sparkles in his eyes.
Those silver eyes were shimmering beautifully.
“Is that twinkle for me?” I admired, also hiding my smile and from him.
I took two more rounds to and fro, before thinking of something else to do. “What next? Hmm… Jumping! Yes.”
Drawing away from Cadell, I selected a tree and took a powerful leap that took me way up high. I was swift to grab a branch and sit on it, clapping excitedly for myself. “No error!” I cheered at myself.
“Hey Cadell, watch this,” I called, aiming for another tree. And just like that, I was leaping from one tree to another like a true werewolf, feeling the freedom and passion of being one with the wind.
This is something I’ve always wanted, and now I can proudly call myself a Werewolf.
“Cadell!” I laughed, still springing from tree to tree, taking my chance to look at my pervy wolf. He was following, watching how I moved smoothly without any problem.
The look in his silver eyes showed he was proud of me. He didn’t need words to say it. His beautiful gaze said it all.
I blushed at this and came to a stop at a branch which was at the level of Cadell’s head. I held it with one hand and said, stretching out the other hand to him, saying, “Come with me, if you want to live.” Took that from a line in the movie. Now I can use it.
Cadell smirked, drawing closer to me.
Instead of taking my hand, he took a leap and grabbed the same branch I hung on with one hand, clinging right next to me.
He was too close, almost sealing the gap between us. He stared into my eyes passionately, with his hand reaching for my face, caressing me slowly.
I didn’t dare to resist because at that point, I was lost in his gaze, enjoying his company.
He drew his face closer to peck my cheek, but my body vibrated, forcing me to lose my grip on the branch.
Cadell’s arm quickly wrapped me from the waist, pulling me fully into his hold. Our face came in contact with our nose caressing each other. I could no longer feel the cold night but the heat from our body immersing us.
It was strong.
Cadell’s grip on me was tight. He carefully sniffed me down to my shoulder, planting a kiss on my neck from the side. That made my body shudder, almost forcing me to submit to this tempting feeling.
But on snapping back to my senses, I forced myself out of Cadell’s arms and said, placing a challenge, “How about we test who’s faster than the other?”
“What’s the catch?” He asked, releasing his grip and landing perfectly on the ground.
“Hmm, the catch. Maybe…” I seductively ran my hand around my body and blew an air kiss at Cadell, getting his eyes to pop wide. “If you beat me, then we get to do all the naughty stuffs you…”
“Deal!” He accepted, dashing off before I even said the word ‘GO’.
“Cadell! That’s cheating!” I yelled, trying to catch up with him, but he was way ahead of me.
“You crazy subvert! The race haven’t started!” I panted, still running after him.
That’s when I saw something sparkly pass my eyes from the corner. It made me stop just in time to spot an animal behind a tree, staring at me.
I recognized the creature as a deer from an old picture book of mine. I’ve never seen one in real life because of the Queen and her stinky rules. But now that I have the opportunity, I can’t miss it.
“Hi,” I said, drawing closer to the animal. “Don’t be afraid of me. I’m your friend.”
I kept drawing nearer when I noticed something off. It was that same sparkly light I saw while running. It was red in color and hovered around the deer.
Before I knew what was happening, the innocent deer shifted into a monster, standing on two legs, with its innocent eyes glowing red!
The sight of this stunned me!
“What the hell?!”
The beast roared and charged at me, almost running me into a tree. I was quick to avert its attack with my speed, wondering what happened to the poor animal.
“It was fine now it’s a beast. How come?” This I wondered while trying to avoid its antlers from getting into my body.
“Silver?” I noticed when I jumped over the deer’s horn. The pointing area had silver on it with something black coating it.
This didn’t look ordinary but suspicious.
The beast tried to pull me down from the branch I hung, without seeing my plan for it. I grabbed that chance when he aimed for my legs, and got right on the back, giving the deer an elbow right on its spine.
The force used sent the creature on his knees, but still, it was struggling to get me, causing a rampage.
The desperation and struggle… I could sense the spirit of the deer calling out for help from inside this beast. It wanted to be free.
Its cry got to me deeply. Now I wanted to help the innocent creature from this bondage he was in, only for the beast to break free from the paralyses, opening its horrifying mouth at me for a bite.
That’s when a force slammed the monster from the side, sending it tumbling away from us. I looked and saw Cadell gazing at the creature in shock. “Where in heaven’s name did this abomination come from?”
“I don’t think it’s an abomination,” I said, seeing the beast coming back at us.
Cadell wanted to take it out on his own, but I was moved by my wolf, who forced me to push Cadell back and face this beast myself.
When it came close… “EVOLET!” Cadell yelled.
But I wasn’t afraid.
“Release,” I made that command with a wave of my hand, and a strong ray of purple light circulated the deer, forcing out that red sparkling dust out from the animal’s body.
Cadell saw the dust too. He immediately caught it in his hand and stared at it in shock, looking at me. That look in his eyes gave me my answer.
It’s Sorceress Thelma. No wonder it looked familiar when it flew pass me. And the silver horn with poison on it? It looked so much like the sword Queen Chriselda held in my vision.
Turning over to the innocent animal, I saw the deer staring at me, before giving a bow at my feet, permitting me to touch it.
This was indeed beautiful. I didn’t just see a deer but saved its life. Now I’m petting it. So cool!
The deer soon dashed off into the forest, leaving Cadell and I alone.
“How did she trace you so fast?” Cadell asked, quenching the dust with his darkness. “And with a new trick? Something isn’t right here,” Cadell expressed his suspicion, hooking the little wolf back on my necklace.
“We have to leave. I’m sure the hag will inform Queen Chriselda and she’ll send down Red Hills soldiers to search on her behalf.”
Quickly, he carried me and dashed out of the forest, heading back for Wolf Fall. When we went through Red Hills, we noticed the guards of the pack heading to the forest, just as Cadell said.
That evil Queen is out to get me. But how did Sorceress Thelma trace me so fast?
