QUEEN CHRISELDA
“Are these the men that challenged my son ?” I questioned the guard while staring at the image of the men, protecting that wretched Omega.
The guard confirmed my question with a yes, lowering his head a bit.
I kept on looking at their faces, feeling off about them. “They don’t look like Wolf Fall members. Or am I just assuming they aren’t from here?” I uttered to myself, sliding from one video to another.
Every video had my son being humiliated for attempting to take that Evolet girl against her wish. It felt so embarrassing to watch.
“I warned him to stay away from her, but he disobeyed me! I warned him!” In rage, I tossed the phone against the wall, causing it to smash open.
The guard gasped at my sudden action, but bowed his head to avoid any eye contact with me.
Puffing out steam and trying to cool my temper, I said, snapping my finger at him, “Get me the damsel, Fiona. After that, you can go and see Gamma Dave. Tell him I said he should get you a new phone in the morning.”
“Okay, my Queen,” he nodded, exiting my chamber with the shattered set.
I began pacing about, thinking of what to do about my son and his sudden obsession over Evolet. “But he was never like this. He had his eyes on Fiona and now he wants that Omega? What does he see in that girl?”
A few minutes later, a knock came on my door. I ordered whoever it was to come in. That’s when I saw Fiona walking into my chamber with a long face.
“You sent for me, my Queen?” she asked, stepping fully into my room with her head going down for a bow.
I didn’t give Fiona an answer but walked up to her, lifting her chin to have a good look at her eyes. They were red and swollen.
“I saw you leaving my son’s room in tears. You were scared, crying… and trembling. Tell me, what happened?” I demanded, petting her on the head.
Fiona slowly busted into tears and began to narrate what had occurred between her and Allen. “All I did was ask him a question about the rumor, but he got mad and grabbed me by the throat,” she described, pacing her hand on her neck so I’d see the mark Allen left.
“I was choking but he didn’t care. He had this cold stare in his eyes like some kind of mad man out for blood. Allen almost killed me,” she wept, covering her face with her palms.
“I was afraid he wouldn’t let go, but he did. He ordered me to get out of his room, and I left at once. I can still feel his grip on me. It was terrible.”
“It’s okay,” I said, pulling her into my arms for a warm comforting embrace. “Allen is only stressed out from all the problems in the pack. That rumor must have gotten to him, that’s why he acted that way,” I lied just to calm her fear.
“But he was fighting over that worthless Omega. What does that mean, my Queen? Does he prefer Evolet to me?” Fiona asked, still in my arms.
Mentioning that Evolet girl, I felt my detest for her rising. Her name sounded bitter on my tongue, that I felt like spitting out in disgust.
“She must have done something disrespectful to my son, that’s why he went after her. But the public mistook it for something else. They don’t know my son like I do. He has no interest in that wolfless Omega. It’s all a rumor,” I lied again, soothing Fiona’s heart.
She lifted her head with a smile on her face, feeling better than ever.
With a curve spreading across mine, I said to her, “You are the only one who possesses the quality of a true Queen. Allen sees only you and no one else. Soon, the hunt would be over, and I’ll declare you the winner. Trust me on that.”
“Thank you, my Queen,” she bowed, showing her respect.
I patted her head and sent her back to her room, while I made another plan to pay my stubborn son a visit in his chamber.
“This madness ends now.”
As soon as Fiona left, I made my way to Allen’s room and found it slightly opened. It was dark inside, like there was no single soul around. But I could pick my son’s scent coming from within. He’s there, hiding away.
“Allen,” I called, stepping inside. I carefully reached for the light switch in the dark and turned it on, just to find my son sitting at the other side of his bed, on the ground!
“What is the meaning of this?! Why sitting on the cold floor?!” I questioned, drawing closer to him.
Allen didn’t even look at me. He had his eyes on the zoomed image of Evolet on his phone, sliding his finger across her pic.
This madness had gone too far and I had to do something about it. Quickly, I dragged the phone out of Allen’s hand, bringing my stupid son back to reality.
“Give it back!” he yelled at me, rising to his feet in an attempt to snatch the phone from my hand! And to remind him of his place in this mansion, I smashed the phone to the ground and stepped on it with my heels.
Allen stared at the ruined set in shock and dared to shimmer his red wolf eyes at me.
The disrespect! Is he daring his own mother?!
“You shouldn’t have done that?”
“And now that I have, do you want to hit me? Answer me, Allen! Do you want to beat your mother over that useless woman?!”
“She’s not useless! She’s… You are failing to see things from my view, mother. Evolet has all the qualities of a Luna. She’s perfect to be my Queen.”
“Why? Just because she dealt with that bloody Werecat and solved an unexpected crime within the pack? Or is it because of the fact that the people blindly thinks she is similar to Luna Violet? Which one, son?!” I questioned him.
Allen went silent for a few minutes His cheek swollen in anger, finding it hard to hold back his frustration.
“Now let me tell you something, son. There’s no difference between that girl and other damsels in Wolf Fall. She’s just like everyone else. Imperfect! You are only stressing yourself because you feel she has all the qualities you need in a woman, since you haven’t laid your hands on her.”
That statement got my son gawking at me, like I’ve said something unholy.
“It’s the truth. If you had gotten in-between her legs like Fiona and the rest you’ve slept with, she won’t look perfect to you. You will find nothing interesting about her,” I made it clear to him.
He was astonished at what I just said, about his secret affairs with many ladies. Did he think his mother is stupid and had no clue of his activities?
“I know everything, Allen. From Fiona to the rest, I know it all. You always please your sexual urges in secret and act all holy in public. You’ve made Fiona your special playmate, but you want to dump her for an Omega who doesn’t have any respect for your home? Is that the kind of partner you want? Do you think I don’t know what’s best for you?”
“You… You do, but Evolet…”
“If you talk about that wretched Omega once more, I swear to the goddess that I’ll strip you off your title as the Alpha and banish you from Wolf Fall!” I roared, shunning Allen at once.
“Do you want to be with her?! Is it Evolet you want?! If she’s your choice then it’s best you leave this pack and never return! Maybe I’d give your place to one of those thugs that shamed you publicly. At least they have brains. That’s why they warned you to stay away from that girl!”
“No, don’t.” In submission, Allen went on his knees, seeking for my forgiveness. “I’m sorry, mother. I won’t go against you. I promise to do what is right. Forgive me.”
“Oh, my son,” I sighed, cupping his face where he knelt. “Can you see what she’s doing to us? If she can bring this argument into our home without being a part of us, imagine the kind of chaos that would unfold when you make her your Luna. Think about.”
“I understand. I’m sorry.”
“Good boy. I’ve forgiven you,” I accepted, pulling him up to his feet and embracing him. “You’ll need to apologize to Fiona as well. That poor girl got scared of you and ran off crying. Make sure you settle things with her, okay?”
“Okay,” Allen nodded.
I knew he’d come to his senses when I place his throne on the line. If he wants to enjoy the life of an Alpha, then he must obey his mother. I am the Queen and I control his life.
And as for that weed of a girl… I’m going to make sure she’s taken care of before she ruins my home.
