CHAPTER 42

Book:Omega's Wolf Is A Rogue Published:2025-2-8

EVOLET
This feels like a bad dream to me.
My little sweet angelic Kitty is a big ass man?!
Not just any man, but the same Alpha Cat Cadell and I helped!
“I thought he left Wolf Fall? Why is he here?” I covered my face, thinking of all the cuddles I’ve been giving to him, without knowing the truth.
The kisses, the petting… “I even invited him to take a bath with me! No wonder his eyes became large. Oh my God!” I groaned, lowering my head down, feeling hot.
“Why me, Goddess? I didn’t sign up for this drama. I’m too young for all these!”
Just then, I heard Cadell’s voice outside my room. Seems he’s arguing with Trent again.
The reason why I’m here is because I ran away from the kitchen when I saw my Kitty was Trent. It shocked me to the core that I left, hiding away in my room to get myself.
But hearing Cadell and Trent’s voice outside my room showed that their argument let them here, to stress me further. “I think someone is about to kill the other. I better go out there and stop Cadell from harming Trent,” I feared, jumping out of bed and rushing to the door.
Opening it, I found Cadell and Trent outside my door, arguing. Cadell blocked Trent’s path, stopping him from getting to my room.
“I told you already, Kitty. You are no longer needed here. Go back to your pack.”
“I am not going anywhere without seeing Evolet, so move it!” Trent yelled, trying to pass. Still, Cadell wouldn’t allow him.
“You make it sound like you own her, Tiger. If you had come to her like a normal man, we won’t be standing here. But no! A whole Alpha came in form of a cat to spy on an innocent lady, like a Pervert!”
“Mind your tongue, Wolf! I am no pervert.” Trent sparked at Cadell, who just chuckled out mockingly, shaking his head.
“Then what about you? I came as a Cat, but you came as a Wolf. Now who’s the Pervert between the two of us?”
“It’s still you, because Eve knows the big bad wolf already. But she didn’t know her Kitty was a Creep.” He laughed, annoying Trent even more.
In anger, Trent tried to push Cadell aside, only for Cadell to chest back, roaring at him, “Don’t make me wreck you, Cat!” he roared.
“Try me, Wolf!” Trent dared, glaring back at him.
Terrified, I stepped out from the room and begged them to stop. “No more fighting, please!”
“Evolet,” they both chorused my name, looking at my direction.
Their eyes lightened with concern, as they both made a move to meet me. But when Cadell saw Trent following him… “Hey!” he sparked, standing in his way.
“Get back, Trent!”
“I am going nowhere, Cadell! The only person that can give me that order is Evolet, not you!” Trent made it clear to Cadell, flashing his yellow eyes at him.
I got scared just watching this two go head to head, boiling at one another. “Goddess, please don’t let them start a fight here,” I prayed, trembling.
Cadell chuckled at Trent, pushing him back with a warning. “Don’t mess with me, Pretty boy. This dude before you doesn’t give a damn about your status. But if you want to give it a try, then get ready to leave Wolf Fall with two black eyes and shattered bones.”
“Don’t take me for a weakling, Wolf. I’m an Alpha.”
“Yeah, Alpha. I’m a Madman and I will show you how I roll. Should we put that to the test?” Cadell challenged.
I noticed his hands, as well as Trent’s, shifting into their animal form with their claws springing out.
Knowing what was about to go down… “STOP!” I yelled, stopping them from attacking each other.
They both looked at me as I leaned against the wall, pleading with them to stop arguing. “You can’t keep battling each other like this! I… I don’t like it.”
“Evolet,” Cadell called, walking up to me. Trent didn’t bother to follow. He stayed back, staring at me with worry in his gaze.
“Hey, I’m sorry,” Cadell apologized, cupping my face. “I was just trying to protect you from this animal.”
“Cadell,” I lifted my brow at his word.
He understood and apologized, “Sorry, I can’t help it. I just don’t like him.” He took a look at Trent then at me.
With a sigh, he asked, “Do you want to talk to him?”
It’s like he read what was on my mind at that moment. Talking to Trent felt like the only solution to this matter. And if I don’t speak with him to understand why he did all these, Cadell might eat him raw.
“Yes, I want to talk to him,” I answered Cadell, nodding my head.
Despite the detest and heaviness in his heart for Trent, Cadell agreed to let me speak with Trent.
“Okay, you can talk to him.”
“Thanks Cadell.”
“But I’ll be watching. If he tries to act funny with you, I’ll fry him this time around,” he threatened out loudly, looking at Trent.
That made Trent realize the opening given to him by Cadell. He looked pleased, watching Cadell step aside while I opened the door to my room, waiting for him to step in.
With gladness, Trent went into the room, giving me a smile. When Cadell saw this, his face turned red.
“Cadell, be calm,” I said, placing my hand on my chest to ease his temper. He nodded and placed his hand on his chest, breathing in and out.
I would have just stepped into the room with a smile on my face, but Cadell… Such a pervert! He misinterpreted my message and placed both hands on his chest to form the shape of two boobies, grinning at me!
“Yeah, I’m calm now,” he smiled, winking at me.
“What… You… Forget it!” I groaned, stepping into the room with my cheeks swelling with laughter.
He’s crazy.
My attention soon fell on Trent, who stood close to my bed with both arms wrapped at his back, staring at me innocently.
Sighing, I drew closer and said, “I am so sorry about Cadell’s action, Alpha.”
“It’s fine, Eve. You did say he gets mad whenever he sees another man close to you. He’s just carrying out his duty as the jealous boyfriend,” Trent said, laughing.
My face flushed at his words. “No Alpha, he’s not… We’re not in a relationship. He’s just my friend.”
“Really?” he lifted his brow with a smirk, doubting that statement. “Just a friend? Hmm. Alright then. Maybe I still have my chance in shooting my shot,” he chuckled again, but I couldn’t laugh along.
Trent noticed and immediately stopped, rubbing his back neck with guilt.
Seeing this as the right time to speak, I said, “Alpha…”
“No need for that, Eve. Just call me Trent. I’ll appreciate that,” he requested.
I hummed, correcting myself. “Trent… What are you doing here? Not just that… You disguised yourself as a Cat. Why?”
“Well, I…”
“I thought you left Wolf Fall for your pack? How did you cross the barrier without the Sorceress picking your aura? Why…”
“Evolet,” he called, silencing me with his finger on my lips.
I wasn’t expecting that from him.
Trent stared into my eyes innocently, biting down on his lower lip. “I know you have a lot of questions to ask, and it’s my fault for frightening you. But I promise you Eve, I didn’t come here with any bad intentions. I came here to see you.”
I stared, wondering what he wants from me.
“Can we sit down and talk?” He requested, taking his finger of my lip and pointing at the bed.
I agreed and sat with Trent. Then he began explaining himself. “I did leave Wolf Fall. I went back to my pack to give the cubs to their family, but since that night, I’ve been feeling restless after meeting you, Eve.”
My heart skipped on hearing that.
“Honestly…” he chuckled, “I don’t know why your face kept appearing in my head. Maybe it’s because I was surprised with the way you dealt with me that night,” he laughed, planting a smile on my face.
“… Or when you spoke to me, placed your hand on my forehead, and understood my problem when no one else could. Maybe that’s the reason,” Trent said, staring into my eyes.
My mouth came opened a bit, but no words came out. Trent’s words were giving me the shivers. And when it did, I gently broke the eye lock, looking elsewhere.
“So, is that why you’re here? To know if I’ve placed some kind of curse on you?” I joked, glancing at him swiftly.
I heard Trent hum before replying, “I think so.”
That answer sent waves around my system. I looked at Trent and found him smiling at me. He drew closer and said, “I don’t know what you did, but it made me feel at peace. That’s why I left my pack and came back to find you.”
“Oh, I see. How fascinating.” I forced a smile, even though I felt weird about Trent’s decision.
“But how did you pass the barrier without being noticed?” I asked, recalling what Cadell had said about it.
Trent told me how. “I got a little help from my Sorcerer. He’s not up to your sorceress’s level, but he still knows magic,” he smirked.
“He gave me a potion that hid my aura from the sorceress. It lasts for a minute, and that’s enough to pass the barrier.”
“Oh, that’s nice then. Lucky you.”
“Yeah. If I had known about the barrier placed around Wolf fall, I would have gotten the potion and carried out my operation smoothly. But I wouldn’t have met you.” He gently took hold of my hand, stroking it gently. It made my body vibrate as I watched him caress it lovingly.
“Eve, I wasn’t joking when I called you Luna Violet that night. Your action matches her approach, just like the way my father and elders described her. It’s that side of you that brought me here. I really wanted to see you again.”
“As a Cat?” I asked, dimming my eyes at him.
“Oh. Not… not really,” he said, sounding remorseful. “I didn’t plan on meeting you like that. I wanted to speak to you like every normal person. But your bodyguard had a different plan for me,” he said, taking my memory to his encounter with Cadell at the market.
Yeah, Cadell was being a jealous wolf that day. That’s why Trent couldn’t tell me who he was.
“Our meeting at the forest was a coincident. I was looking for you, so I decided to take that form of a cat and search around. That’s when that creep and her army chased me into the forest.”
“Fiona?” I giggled.
“Yeah, that weirdo,” Trent smiled. “She was trying to sway me to be her pet, but I’m no one’s pet. That’s when you came and… and I felt lucky.” He squeezed my hand gently, expressing his delight. “I had to jump into the right arms to show that creep that you are the true master.”
I laughed along with him, finding it sweet.
“It was destiny, Eve. I believe the goddess wanted us to meet each other and… get to know ourselves better.”
Know ourselves better? As friends or…
“Evolet, I…” he paused, finding it hard to speak.
Even if he doesn’t say a word, his body language is already doing the talking, and I don’t like where this is going.
“My coming here was for you, and I feel we’re…”
“I know what you’re going to say Trent.”
He became stunned, letting out a smile. “You do?”
“Yes. And I’ll advice you don’t say it out, otherwise…” I signaled to the door so he’d see the two glowing silver eyes watching us from the slightly opened door.
“Oh, I get the message. Madman supreme is on guard. Gotcha.” Trent winked, making me chuckle.
“I heard that,” Cadell sounded out loudly so we’d be aware of his presence.
Trent rolled his eyes and asked me, “Where did you find him?”
“Trust me, I don’t know how. But he’s no different from you. He just happened to fall in the wrong line with the Royal family, and now we’re a team,” I said, flashing to the first time I met Cadell and the journey so far.
“A great team indeed,” I smiled, dropping my gaze back on Trent. He looked amazed at my expression when I spoke at Cadell, glancing at the door then at me.
What’s he thinking of?
“I see. There’s no difference indeed.” He nodded.
“But who is he exactly? Is he an Alpha like me from a different pack?”
“Why did you ask?” I questioned, seeing the curiosity buried in Trent’s eyes.
He shrugged and responded, “The attitude? I mean he’s stubborn. Despite knowing who I am, he didn’t care.”
“That’s Cadell,” I chuckled slowly pulling my hand out of Trent’s hold, crossing my arms.
“I am surprised that he’s the same Wolf that helped me in finding the cubs that night. It’s when he shifted into a wolf on our way from the forest, I realized he wasn’t an ordinary Werewolf.”
“Really? Do tell.” This was getting interesting.
Trent narrated how Cadell recognized him when I sent him, as Kitty, into the room to be with Cadell. “I was shocked because I didn’t do anything to give my identity away. He scared me, but I had to keep my act and try to save myself from his teeth! He’s the reason why I took this long to reveal myself to you.”
“LIAR!” Cadell yelled from outside my room. “Don’t blame me you Jungle Puss!”
“See? Crazy!” Trent groaned.
I laughed at them, enjoying the drama. Looks like the problem is dying down at last. At least I’ll be free from this two and their fight.
“But come to think of it…” Trent said, almost inaudibly. “His name sounds familiar. I don’t know where I’ve heard it before, but I know it’s somewhere.”
“Maybe,” I said, having no plans of telling Trent any info about Cadell. Don’t know if he’s also wanted at his pack as well.
“But that doesn’t mean I can’t keep trying because he’s here.”
“Huh?” I uttered at what Trent said, trying to grab what he meant by that.
When he smirked, I understood the message.
“Evolet, look…” he took hold of my hand again, but this time both. “I’m going to take this as a test from the heavens. I’m going against that Madman out there to win you over, and I don’t care how long it takes.”
“Trent, no one is challenging you in anything.”
“Are you sure?” He signaled me to the door to see for myself.
I turned and saw Cadell passing a warning to Trent with his finger passing the throat.
“You might take his drama as a joke, but he’s clearly passing a message. And I’m not going to lose to him.”
“Trent, no. I am not going to be a part of this,” I said, feeling uncomfortable. “I don’t want to belong to anyone. Not now. You aren’t even bothered about the fact that I’m different from you. You are keen on following your heart.”
“That’s because it doesn’t lie, Eve. If the goddess has shown me this, then surely you are the one.”
“Trent.”
“I’m serious, Eve. I won’t stop until the space in my heart is filled with your love. I won’t,” he said, about to caress my face. Only for Trent to find his had in the air, held by Cadell.
“Your time is up. Time to head back home,” Cadell said, pointing at the door.
Trent gazed at me sadly, wondering if I was going to let him leave. But my heart… “Cadell, let him be.”
“What? But Evolet…”
“You know if Kitty leaves, Mom will think you did something bad to him. Do you want to see her red eyes?” he asked, bringing Mom into the matter.
With a frown, Cadell left Trent and said, sitting in-between us, “At least when he runs out of his nine lives, he won’t be a problem any more.”
“Cadell!” I bumped his shoulder, finding that statement scary.
But anyways, I’m sure Trent can cope with Cadell for some time.
If he can last long.
.
“Finally, you got them to behave. You’ll make a good mother,” Mom praised me, petting both Cadell and Trent in their animal form.
They had to corporate with each other for my sake, and because of Mom.
This should be fun to watch.
And as for Trent… I don’t think he plans on leaving Wolf Fall any time soon. He came here for me and will only leave if I agree to his proposal. But I don’t want to be his mate nor hurt his feelings.
“Goddess, I know you can hear me. Please help me solve this case with Trent. How can I get him to understand and let go? I was only following my heart that night. Please, help.”
