EVOLET
“What are you saying?” Allen asked.
“Two Lion Cubs. Did anyone see them stepping into Wolf Fall?” I repeated my question.
Everyone glanced at each other in confusion, having nothing to say, except Sorceress Thelma. She scoffed and spoke rudely, “What garbage are you pouring out now?”
“Your barrier. You can feel anything that goes through it. Surely you must have felt those cubs presence,” I pointed out, pinning the sorceress to the matter.
And when she noticed this, she shouted, “Are you making a mockery of my powers?! Are you insulting me?!”
“I never did, Sorceress. But if the truth gets fished out, your reputation as Wolf Fall’s sorceress will be questioned, ” I said with no fear, stunning both Sorceress Thelma and Allen.
The Sorceress was mad. She was now desperate to paint me before the people as the pack’s enemy, asking how I knew all these. But I wasn’t going to tell her how. She doesn’t deserve to know.
Just then, the Alpha Cat said, pulling out something from his pocket, “Two cubs from my pack went missing. This is the dress of the children. I followed their scent and it led me here. If you think I’m lying…” he stretched the clothes out to Allen and said, “Sniff the dress and see for yourself.”
The two dresses showed it belong to two little girls. This made my heart ache for the little ones.
I looked at Allen to see what he’d do. When he saw me staring at him, he hummed and drew closer to the Alpha Cat, sniffing the clothes.
“What are you doing, Alpha?! You don’t know if it’s laced with poison!” The Sorceress sparked.
Gamma Dave backed her up. “I bet this Omega is working side by side with our enemies,” he accused.
But everything came to light when Allen’s wolf eyes flashed. He looked at us in surprise and said to Sorceress Thelma, “They are not lying. I can pick the scent of the children in the pack.”
What he said stunned everyone. They gasped out and began to mumble out on the case.
“They are here, but their scent is weak,” Allen added.
“Exactly what I noticed. Their scent is weak. I can’t locate them. Whoever that kidnapped them must have used something to kill their smell,” The Alpha said, pointing it out.
“Excuse me? Did you say Kidnap? Are you now accusing Wolf Fall of kidnapping your restless kittens?” Sorceress Thelma questioned the Werecat.
Before the Alpha could speak, I stepped in immediately, defending him. “That’s exactly what happened. The cubs were kidnapped from their land. They didn’t walk into Wolf Fall on their own. And if they did, you would have noticed it and alerted Alpha Allen and Queen Chriselda.”
“What?!” Her eyes widened at my word. She gritted her teeth, ready to say something when Allen said, “She’s right. If your barrier is as strong as you said, then you would have felt the presence of those cubs.”
The Sorceress went silent at Allen’s words. He was now taking my side instead of hers.
Isn’t he the same person who was keen on kicking me out of his life? Why is he supporting me?
Seeing that she was being humiliated, the sorceress said, trying to vindicate herself, “My Barrier works well, Alpha. It hasn’t failed me. If the cubs had passed the shield, I would have known. But the only ones who have gone through the barrier are the guards.”
“The Guards?” Allen and I chorused, glancing at each other then at the soldiers.
I saw sweats breaking on their forehead when they were called. They didn’t know how to react.
“I know my men usually step out to handle some pack work, but can you point out the guards that passed the force within this month?” Allen asked the sorceress, who hummed and began to point them out.
When she did, they began to defend themselves, saying they did nothing. “We’re innocent!”
“This Werecat and this weakling are trying to cause a fight in our pack! They need to be punished!” They said, accusing the Werecat and I.
Even Gamma Dave made it long by supporting his men. “I trained them well. If they say they didn’t, then they didn’t.” He glared at me.
This matter was going nowhere. I needed the Goddess to help me here, and… she did. She gave me a sign through Cadell.
He came closer to the Werecat and signaled for the dresses. When I saw this, I knew what he was doing.
“He wants to sniff it. Let him have the dress,” I said to the Alpha Cat, who did as I said, giving Cadell the clothes to sniff.
“What a joke. If both Alphas can’t sniff the children out, what makes you think your dog can?” Gamma Dave mocked.
With so much believe and trust in my Cadell, I said to Dave, “You have forgotten that my wolf isn’t like us. He may be different, but nothing is hard for him to fish out.” I smirked, silencing the Gamma.
Sorceress Thelma said nothing but stared. Seems Allen’s command has placed her in her spot.
Once Cadell was done sniffing, he took off like the wind, tracing the children. Seeing this, we all went after him to see where he was going.
He was too fast and I couldn’t keep up with him.
Surprisingly, I was lifted off the ground and placed on something soft yet hard. Looking down, I found myself on the back of the Alpha Cat!
“Hang on,” he said in his deep voice, dashing after Cadell, running side by side with Allen, who was following Cadell from behind.
Both Alphas looked at each other then at the wolf who was speeding faster than them from ahead.
Cadell’s speed made me proud of my Pervy wolf. He showed these two that a Rogue beat two Alphas in a race. I bet in battle he will still win.
Following Cadell, we arrived back at a house which wasn’t far away from the mansion. It belonged to one of the guards that the Sorceress had pointed out.
Cadell forced his way in and soon came out with two little girls by his side.
When I saw this, my mouth dropped.
“You found them!” I exclaimed out, jumping off the Alpha Cat’s back to meet Cadell and the children.
The two girls were so dirty. They were crying in fear, but went calm when I pulled them into my arms and embraced them wholeheartedly.
“It’s okay, you’re safe now,” I whispered, petting them.
The girls immediately recognized their Alpha and ran to him. The Tiger lifted both children in his arms and held them tight, feeling so happy.
His eyes were filled with joy, as he took a look at Cadell and I with a smile, bowing at us.
Cadell and I did the same to show our respect, as we watched a happy Alpha embracing two lost cubs from his pack.
“Goddess. They have been here?” Allen uttered in shock, looking at the girls then at the house.
The others soon showed up and were astonished to see that the Alpha cat and I were telling the truth.
The people felt sorry for the two girls who looked dirty. Their appearance looked like ones who were left in the mud for days.
Both Gamma Dave and Sorceress Thelma were shocked. The truth was out and they didn’t know how to react to this. But Allen knew what to do.
He turned to face the guards and spotted the culprit behind the kidnapping. The guard fell on his knees and began to beg, seeking for mercy. “It wasn’t my fault, Alpha. I was pushed into it,” he cried.
But Allen didn’t listen.
“Don’t worry, you’ll have enough time to list out all the culprits involved in this nonsense behind bars. Take him away!” Allen ordered.
The guard was dragged off at once, crying out loudly.
With the matter finally cleared, Allen, with shame all over him, apologized to the Alpha Cat, “We are sorry for the problem we caused you. I didn’t know that my guards were carrying out something nasty behind my back. I… I hope we can put this behind us and forget it ever happened.”
The Alpha Cat stared at Allen but said nothing.
Instead, he walked up to Cadell and I and said, “Evolet, right? You just showed me something that I never thought I’d see in a Werewolf after so many years.”
“Really? What’s that?” I asked, smiling at him.
He smirked and said, “Luna Violet.”
When he mentioned the late Queen’s name, my heart skipped. He will be the third person saying this! It always Luna Violet and I. Why?
“Her bravery, strength, leadership, love and compassion. The power of a true Luna. I see all in you. With all that has happened, you have earned my respect,” he said, bowing at me again.
The two cubs did the same as their Alpha, melting my heart.
Cadell also did the same. He had to rush to stand next to the Werecats and bow at me. I felt like laughing at him.
But heaven knows I wasn’t prepared for what was about to happen next. Everyone who witnessed this bowed their heads, stunning me.
I looked around and saw the whole people, except Alpha Allen, Sorceress Thelma, and Gamma Dave, showing their respect to me.
This was too much to behold. They all think I’m like the late Queen.
Do I really possess her gift?
