CHAPTER 34

Book:Omega's Wolf Is A Rogue Published:2025-2-8

QUEEN CHRISELDA
“What’s happening now? Why has no one returned to give me any news?” I grumbled in the living room, pacing about.
The maidens were watching from the corner, unable to say anything to me.
I don’t even know why they are still here instead of going to their rooms. But I won’t blame them. I bet they are worried about my son and decided to stay with me.
Stay with me to impress me of course. Weaklings.
“My Queen,” I heard a familiar voice at my left hand side. I turned over and met Fiona, the only damsel I adore.
She stood before me with worry in her eyes and said, “You don’t have to be worried. I’m sure Alpha Allen will be fine. He’s a strong man. He’s your son.” She carefully took hold of my hand before the others, stunning the girls with her action. Something no damsel or any other person outside the Royal home has done, she did.
And by the minute, I fell deeply in love with her nature.
She’s indeed perfect for my son. She possesses the qualities of a true Luna. My Qualities.
And I know Allen sees this already, because I’ve seen the way he looks at Fiona with desire in his eyes. He loves her but he’s shy to tell his mother. Silly son of mine.
When he returns I’ll speak to him about it. After all, we both made a deal that when he finds the woman he wishes to marry, I’ll end this hunt at once.
Besides, I’m tired of this game. The faces of the damsels make me sick. But the most annoying maiden of all is gone. She lost the match to Fiona. That’s if Fiona really dealt with her.
I saw it all. That Evolet of a girl was beating Fiona like a pro fighter. If Gamma Dave said she stands no chance of winning, then where did she learn how to move like that?
Unless she was holding back and decided to show herself on the battleground.
Still, her sudden lost came as a surprise to me. It didn’t feel like an actual defeat but… a planned one.
Did that Omega purposely lose to leave the hunt?
“My Queen, they are back!” One of the damsels announced, pulling me out of my thoughts.
Lifting my eyes, I saw Allen, Thelma, and Dave stepping into the living room.
My son’s arrival brought a smile to the faces of the Damsels. They called out to him to show their support, but… “Allen,” I called on noticing how lost my son was. He didn’t even answer me but drew closer to a couch and sat on it.
Fiona and the maidens drew nearer to my son to welcome him. But Allen was acting like a statue.
“Thelma, what happened? Why is Allen like this?” I asked, directing my gaze at my Sorceress and Gamma. Only to see they had the same face expression as Allen.
What is going on?
Thelma drew closer to me and said out, “The matter has been solved, my Queen.”
Her words made the girls turn to face her point and listen.
“The matter? You mean that Werecat has been killed?” I asked, feeling pleased. Still, Thelma’s mood didn’t change.
“No, my Queen. The Werecat is still alive,” Gamma Dave revealed, stunning me once again.
“What? How come? Did he escape the pack before you could…”
“He didn’t. He never left, but… But the matter was resolved,” Allen finally voiced out, rising to his feet, drawing closer to us.
“Mother… We were wrong about the Werecat. He never came to harm us but came as an Alpha to rescue his pack members. He was only carrying out his duty,” Allen added.
What he said sounded confusing to me. “What do you mean by that?”
“My Queen, two cubs were kidnapped by one of our guards and kept hostage right in our pack. That’s the main reason why the Werecat came into Wolf Fall,” Gamma Dave shared.
“He had taken them from their land and hid them out of sight. No one knew until tonight. The Werecat never came to attack us, but came to find the lost children.”
This news shocked everyone of us present in the room. I glanced towards the damsels and noticed how they gazed at us, finding this news disturbing.
Of course it is! This will make Wolf Fall look like a bully to other creatures. The people will think my son and I did all these, not knowing we’re innocent. But wait… “How did you know? Was it the Alpha Cat that told you himself?”
“It wasn’t just the Alpha but… But that Damsel,” Allen said, looking lost again.
“Damsel?” Who is he taking about?
That’s when I heard Thelma speak, mentioning the person in question. “He’s talking about the Omega with a pet wolf.”
“Evolet?!” Fiona and another girl I always see around that Evolet, chorused out in shock.
“It’s Evolet! She’s my friend,” the damsel proudly said with a smile on her face.
My body had shivered when I heard her name. I had to look at Thelma to know if it’s that same Damsel or perhaps another maiden with a pet wolf, but she confirmed it with a nod.
“Yes, it’s her. Evolet,” Allen said, looking at me.
Now how did that Omega get into the picture? I thought she left after the battle?
But my answer was gotten when Allen shared what had happened after the Werecat escaped the arena.
“We went after the Alpha and found Evolet and her wolf battling with the Werecat.”
Battling?! Can he hear what he’s saying? “You must be joking, right? An Omega battling with an Alpha? That must be a joke.”
“How can it be a lie when we and the people witnessed it, mother!” Allen raised his voice, surprising us.
“We all saw it, even the people of Wolf Fall. She defeated the Alpha and made him fall at her feet.”
“Oh my Goodness! That’s my girl!” That maiden cheered again, but mellowed down on seeing the eyes on her.
“Wait, this has to be a joke,” Fiona said, stepping forward. “I know Evolet well. She’s a weakling. How can that loser take down an Alpha when she couldn’t defeat me at the arena?”
“Maybe she wanted you to win because you wouldn’t stop pestering her,” Evolet’s friend said, glaring at Fiona.
“Be quiet! I won that fight fair and square. Evolet lost to me.”
“Yeah right. She lost to you. Clap for yourself.”
“Excuse me?!”
“ENOUGH!” I roared, silencing them both.
The two ladies shared a nasty eye lock but I wasn’t concerned about them, but about that Omega!
This can’t be true. She defeated an Alpha on her own? Impossible!
“How I wish you where there, mother. That damsel did what no one could do. She was the only one who got the Werecat to tell us why he was in our pack. He became calm around her and… After everything, he…” Allen couldn’t finish his words.
My son was still in shock from whatever he witnessed that he couldn’t share all that happened.
Due to this matter, Allen walked out on us, leaving the room.
His action made my heart beat with speed. I became worried for my son.
What did that Omega do that made my son weak to the core? I’ve never seen him like this before.
“You may all leave,” Thelma said to the ladies and to Gamma Dave. They all left the room, before she shut the door closed, facing me.
Alone, I asked, “What is all this Thelma?! An Omega took down an Alpha on her own?! How come?! And why is Allen acting like it’s an impossible task he can’t do?!”
“That’s because your son almost got killed by that same Alpha when I went to find them the night the Alpha Cat came into our pack.”
“What?” I gasped on hearing this from Thelma.
“Yes, he was beaten like a punching bag that night.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?! You told me that he was the one who caught the Werecat!”
“If I had told you what happened that night, you would have acted like a weakling, looking for ways to make your son unbeatable. But I didn’t. In fact, he deserves what he got. That boy disrespected my powers and he faced the punishment! I was the one who saved him from shame. He lost his voice until tonight.” She groaned.
“If I hadn’t shown up, Allen wouldn’t be alive today to still disrespect me again! Your son is acting like this because the same Alpha dealt with him was pinned like a chicken by that Evolet girl. Now do you understand why your son is in shock?”
“This… This can’t be possible. Allen isn’t weak!” My whole body shivered. I drew away from Thelma, falling into one of the couch for support.
Her words clouded my head along with images of that maiden.
“Are you telling me that an Omega is stronger than my son who is an Alpha? Is that what you mean, Thelma?”
“That’s the same question I’m asking myself, my Queen. How is an Omega able to defeat an Alpha like it’s nothing?” Thelma said.
This was becoming hard to hold in.
I need an explanation to this!
But one question has been answered already. “That means she never lost to Fiona. She purposely lost to her to leave the game! Why did she do it? What was her reason?!” I stamped my fist on the arm of the couch, getting mad.
“I knew she was trying to flee from the game, but I couldn’t tell why. No wonder her battle with Fiona felt strange to me.”
“Perhaps you might get the answer when I give you the full details on what happened out there,” Thelma said, drawing closer to me.
Then she began, telling me how Evolet refused to give the Werecat to the guards but stood for him. “She released the Alpha and he went on his knees before that maiden, in which she placed her hand on his forehead before everyone and began to question me, asking if I had seen two cubs in the pack.”
“The disrespect! Questioning you about two cubs you know nothing about?! That girl needs to be punished! I’ll make sure she gets what she deserves!”
“And if you do get her punished, your people will turn against you, my Queen,”
“What?” Thelma’s words surprised me.
“Yes, you heard me right. That Omega is now the people’s heroine. You need to see how they all bowed at her like she’s the Queen of Wolf Fall.”
“Are you for real?!” My eyes widened in shock, listening to Thelma share all the horrible things that occurred in my absence.
“It’s good you weren’t there to see how that Alpha cat and your people worshiped that Omega like the goddess. They would have ignored your presence and mocked your position, my Queen.”
What she was saying made my heart pound in fear. My own people are worshiping a useless damsel like she’s their ruler?
I couldn’t take this anymore. I wanted Thelma to stop talking when she said something jaw-dropping. “Yes, it’s horrible, my Queen. The Werecat even called her Luna Violet, increasing the people’s love for Evolet.” She chuckled.
“But that’s not where my mind is, my Queen. I want to know how she knew about the two cubs.”
Thelma faced me with seriousness all over her face, saying, “The Alpha Cat didn’t utter a word about those cubs, but she knew he was looking for them. Isn’t that a mystery? How was she able to tell that he came for those children without the Tiger opening his mouth?”
Wait, he didn’t tell her?! I thought he already said something about the children. So, how did she know?
“I don’t know if you’re thinking hard on this, Queen Chriselda. But who does that Omega remind you of?” Thelma asked, fixing her eyes at me.
“Who has the same ability to tell what is in one’s mind without the person speaking? Who?”
And from her question… I knew who she was talking about.
“The… The spirit wolf. She’s the only one who possesses such gift!” I gasped, stunned by this news.
“Looks like we found her, my Queen.” Thelma smirked, tilting her head.
Does that mean Evolet is the Spirit wolf we’ve been looking for? Damn it! How come we didn’t know?
She has been right under our nose all these while and we were blind! That will explain her desperation to leave the hunt. She must have noticed it as well!
“No! I can’t let her escape me again! I must get her before that Rogue finds her. She is mine!”
