EVOLET
“Block every entrance! He must not escape!” Alpha Allen roared out to the guards, pulling Queen Chriselda close for safety.
The Queen was looking terrified by the Alpha Cat’s sudden action, but not as terrified as the people of Wolf Fall.
They were bringing each other down, in the name of escaping the Werecat’s terror. You won’t blame them. They are all scared and don’t know what the Tiger would do now that he’s free.
“Evolet!” Mom yelled, taking hold of my hand and trying to make a way out of the panic-stricken crowds.
Her grip was rough on me, but not as rough as the terrified people, who was pushing each other down with no concern.
“Cadell!” I yelled, looking behind to make sure he was close to me. Indeed he was, but his attention was mainly at the Werecat who was beating the hell out of the guards, and somewhere else.
I couldn’t tell what was in Cadell’s mind at that moment, but It felt like he was making a risky plan in that head of his. “Oh no you don’t,” I said, forcing him to my front, so I won’t miss track of him.
Cadell looked at me with a strange expression, almost as if he was trying to tell me something. But at this point, I wasn’t ready to listen to him.
“We need to stay close to each other,” I said to him so he’d understand.
Still he didn’t look pleased, and it made me bothered.
Why is he behaving like this?
But I soon got my answer when Mom screamed out in horror, pointing behind me. When I turned back, I froze on seeing something huge coming towards us with speed.
My whole body went paralyzed until… “MOVE!” A voice roared at me from within, forcing me back to my senses.
And at that moment, I saw myself grabbing both Mom and Cadell, and running into a different direction which was safe from where the huge object was coming.
The minute I dived into that part, I heard a loud crash which forced me to turn around and see that the huge object that came towards us was one of the large doors which led to the underground dungeon. It had crashed into that part, causing the people that where close by to panic loudly.
But that wasn’t my concern at the moment.
“How… how did we…” Mom stammered, staring at the location we where at and at the location we just left.
It was far from us!
I was also stunned, wondering how we left the second row to the eleventh which was at the top. It felt so… strange to me!
But that voice… It came from me. I heard it so loud and clear from within.
It ordered me to move and I did. Could it be that the voice is my… “My wolf?” I muttered, feeling my whole body shivering.
That’s the only explanation to this sudden event. It has to be my wolf! It’s trying to help me like the other day at the first battle.
Mom was still confused, wondering how we got here, but Cadell… He stared at me with a smirk, tilting his head to the side.
That was a clear sign that he knows what I just did.
He saw me.
“Goddess, thank you!” Mom exclaimed out, looking to at the sky. She wanted us to leave, but that’s when Cadell got our attention by pointing at a different entrance out of the arena.
It was free of crowds, and that’s because everyone lost their senses and focused on only two exits, forgetting there was another one.
That’s why he was acting strange. He was trying to get me to notice the exit but I failed to read his body language.
“Good boy,” Mom praised Cadell, petting him, before taking hold of my hand, racing for the exit. “We need to hurry out at once and hide. I fear that this Werecat has planned something evil for us,” Mom believed, racing ahead.
But what she said made me uncomfortable.
I found myself looking back to see the Alpha Cat slamming the guards down before they can even transform to their wolf and put him down.
This doesn’t look like a werecat who is out to destroy a pack, but an Alpha fighting for freedom. He never wanted to be here. He was captured and brought out here to be killed.
He’s only trying to… “Stop him,” I heard that same voice echo in my head, causing my body to vibrate.
“Stop him before it’s too late. Stop him, Evolet,” It instructed.
And on hearing this voice, I felt something overwhelming my body at that moment. I no longer felt like myself, but… different.
Looking at Mom who was ahead, almost running out through the exit, I suddenly pulled my hand out of her hold, stopping her from taking me along.
Mom stopped and turned around in shock, yelling, “What are you doing, Eve?! Let’s go!”
She attempted to take my hand, but that strange energy inside my body forced me to step back, avoiding Mom’s hold. When I did this, Mom was stunned.
She glared at me and called my name, “Evolet, what are you doing? I said let’s go.”
“I’m… I’m sorry Mom, but…” I drew back, dropping my gaze at a confused Cadell. “I can’t follow you.”
“Why?!” She roared, frightening me in my spot. “Don’t… Don’t tell me you want to help the Royal family and win their hearts.” She dimmed her eyes at me, assuming something else.
“No Mom, that’s not it! I don’t want to help…”
All of a sudden, we were interrupted by the roar of the Werecat. I turned around and was shocked to see the Alpha Cat had taken a powerful leap, jumping out of the arena. And that’s because he saw Sorceress Thelma. She showed up, ready to put the Alpha cat down with her powers.
“The Werecat won’t escape us, my Queen,” Sorceress Thelma had said, using her powers to float into the air, going after the Tiger.
Like that wasn’t enough, Allen and his guards had to go after the Alpha cat with their golden sword, so as to end his life once and for all.
On seeing this, my body shivered in fear, thinking about the Werecat’s life. I was worried!
I couldn’t explain why that voice told me to stop the Werecat, but the strange feeling within my heart kept pushing me to find him quickly. “I have to go after him,” I said, running pass Cadell and Mom.
“EVOLET! WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO?!” Mom roared from behind but I kept on running, following the flying sorceress who was releasing her powers at the Werecat from a distant ahead.
While running, I realized Cadell was dashing side by side with me, trying to get an answer to my sudden behavior.
“Cadell, I’ll explain everything later. Just take Mom home!”
Instead of listening, Cadell got in my front and stopped me from going any further. He was angry, growling at me.
“Cadell, move!” I yelled, but he refused.
Having no choice, I shared my problem with him, “I don’t know what’s going on with me, but I … I feel it’s important for me to save that Werecat. Cadell, I want to save him. It’s what my heart wants.”
Saying that to him, I noticed his anger fading. He turned and saw Sorceress Thelma blasting her powers from the air, before he turned over to face me.
I thought he was going to drag me back to my mother, but no. He smirked at me and said in his wolf form, stepping aside, “Do what you have to do. I’ll join you after taking your mother to safety. Make sure you don’t get hurt.”
“I promise,” I smiled, pleased with his response.
With speed, he ran off to get my mother while I went after the Werecat, following a furious Sorceress who was flying in the air, glowing red. She was unleashing her powers like hell, not minding if she struck an innocent soul.
“I pray she doesn’t get the Alpha. Gosh! What am I really doing? If I get to this Tiger, what do I tell him? Honestly, I don’t know why I’m listening to that voice in my head. I hope I’m doing the right thing.”
Following Sorceress Thelma, I finally saw the Werecat dashing in-between people’s home, using the building as his shield from the sorceress’s attack.
What marveled me was how sneaky and fast he was moving through the buildings. He made it hard for the old sorceress to strike him, frustrating her.
“Hiding will do you no good, Alpha! I can still pick your scent and feel you!” She echoed in rage, unleashing another kind of power which went in form of a red glowing wolf, chasing the Alpha Cat through the maze called houses.
I watched this from my point, scared of what would happen. But I was soon amazed by the Werecat’s intelligence when I saw what he did next.
To Sorceress Thelma’s shock, the Werecat came jumping off a roof to her point. She thought she had him trapped, only for him to pounce back to earth, getting Sorceress Thelma caught up in her own attack.
The Wolf she sent came attacking her, since it’s the same direction the Werecat had taken. It engulfed Sorceress Thelma with the strange spell she sent, sending her falling.
Her scream sounded disturbing, but to me… “Wow!” I smiled, pleased with her cries. I was marveled by the Werecat’s skill. He just used the sorceress’s power against her. It’s worth admiring.
“At last someone taught her a lesson,” I laughed out loudly. But I soon began to regret my action.
The Werecat, where he stood on another roof in the dark night, turned around and shimmered his yellow eyes my way!
My heart skipped at the sight of his frightening gaze, before he jumped off the roof and hid away from me.
I thought he had gone, probably returning to the forest and to his pack, but… I was wrong.
“Is this what the Royal family sent to take me down?”
“OH MY GOD!” I freaked out, turning around to see the large Tiger before me, standing on his two feet. The darkness made it hard to see his face, but his eyes were easy to spot. It was terrifying!
“You dogs can’t bring an Alpha Cat down. I will make sure you all face my wrath before I leave this land.”
“No, you got it all wrong. I’m not here to…” Before I could finish my statement, I saw his claw coming at me with speed!
My whole body almost went stiff if that strange energy in me hadn’t reacted immediately. In a swift, I drew back, avoiding the Werecat’s attack. And it pissed him off.
“Listen, I’m not here to hurt you! I want to help!”
“I am not a fool like your people! I am a Werecat!” He dashed at me with his fist launching at my direction. And just like his first attack, I quickly dodged it. But it didn’t end there. The Alpha Cat had swiftly followed my movement, almost giving me the knee to the jaw.
When I saw this, something strong traveled around my body like a wave. I felt my fear disappearing in an instant and being replaced with fury. I no longer felt like myself, but a different person.
Dropping my eyes at the knee, I lifted my arm and slammed my elbow on it, forcing the Alpha Cat to lose his balance, hitting his leg hard into the ground. He roared and listed his eyes at me in anger, forcing his leg out of the soil.
“Believe me, I am here to help you!” I said, trying to get the Alpha to listen. But he wouldn’t.
Instead, he came straight at me again, forcing me to the ground. I groaned in his hold, struggling to fight him off.
“Your kind can never be trusted. If it’s the Goddess’s wish for me to end you all tonight, then so be it!” he groaned, tightening his huge hand around my neck.
In his tight grip, I forced out my words taking hold of his hand, “If that’s… what you want… so be it!” I roared out and kicked him right in the face with my strength, forcing him off. He fell backwards and tried to get his stance, only to receive a powerful punch to the face from me, which sent him tumbling.
I was filled with anger, ready to teach this Werecat some lessons.
I mean I came here because of the voice in my head that sent me after this stubborn creature, and he thinks I was sent by Allen and his mother?!
DAMN HIM!
“I dare you to lay those nasty hands on me again!” I sparked, fighting intensely with the Alpha.
The way we were launching attacks at each other felt so strange and mysterious to me. I was fighting with an Alpha like… on the same level with him!
Any move he made, I was able to counter it with ease. Like… where are these skills coming from?
Cadell didn’t teach me these moves. How come I know how to fight so… “AH!” I exclaimed in pain on getting kicked in the stomach, toppling on the floor. I lost my focus and didn’t see his attack.
Lifting my head from the ground, I saw the Werecat approaching me. He didn’t look pleased with the way I dealt with him.
“I’m impressed. You cannot be a mere member of this pack. Who are you?” he asked, drawing closer.
I was trying to get to my feet, giving the Werecat no response.
“Are you perhaps the Luna to that foolish Alpha? No, you are way stronger than him. Tell me who you are.”
“And what if I don’t?” I asked, managing to stand on my two feet.
He growled at me, springing out his claws. “Then I have no choice but to end you,” he said, running towards me.
“I guess I was wrong about him. He’s not worth saving,” I told myself, taking position.
All of a sudden, someone came with full force from the side, hitting the Werecat to the ground roughly. When I looked, I gasped out in joy. “Cadell!” It’s my Pervy wolf. He came to save me.
