CHAPTER 25

Book:Omega's Wolf Is A Rogue Published:2025-2-8

EVOLET
Goddess, I don’t know which side to fall on at the moment. On one hand I’m scared about Beta Dean’s case, hoping the Queen doesn’t find out what really happened to him. On the other hand, I’m desperate to know when she’ll flame at me over my behavior.
Like… It’s been three days since the Beta was found at the pack square, and the Alpha conducted that search to fish out Cadell from his hiding place.
Good thing Perv didn’t leave that night but stayed back, otherwise he would have been caught. That’s if the Alpha has a chance. But when the morning came, we heard about the werecat that was caught trying to attack Wolf fall.
According to the sorceress and guards, Allen had bravely brought the Werecat down, protecting us from the danger that would have befallen Wolf Fall.
But I don’t care about his so-called heroism. I’m just happy that the Werecat’s presence reduced the tension in the pack, taking the people’s mind away from Cadell.
But I know I’m not out of the heat just yet, until Queen Chriselda sends for me.
Let’s say this damsel has become a disobedient maiden in the Royal mansion.
After my behavior towards the Queen, the Sorceress, and the Gamma that day, I decided to stay away from training, gatherings at the dining, and meetings, just to get the Queen to send for me and kick me out of the hunt.
“It’s been three days now, Cadell. I’m sure she’ll send someone to call me. Then, I’ll be out of this place for good,” I shared with Cadell, who was in his wolf form, looking at me.
All he did was stare, wagging his tail in excitement.
Oh, he thinks I don’t know why he’s so happy huh?
He just can’t wait for me to get kicked out, so he can get his kiss. Pervy Wolf! Still, he’s better than that crook of an Alpha.
“You don’t have to show me your excitement, Perv. I still remember my promise,” I said, letting out a smirk at Cadell.
And just then… KNOCK! KNOCK!!
The sound of the bang on the door made my heart skip, as I wondered if it was a maid or just Derby that came to check up on me.
But I got my answer when I heard the person at the other side speaking. “My lady, you have been summoned to the Queen’s chamber. She wants to see you now,” a maid notified me from outside with a strong voice. Probably to express the Queen’s anger towards my behavior.
Still, this is what I’ve been waiting for.
“Wish me luck, Cadell,” I said, taking in a deep breathe, then out.
I took a look at Cadell, who kept on wagging his tail, leaving his tongue hanging out of his mouth.
Gosh! Whenever I look at that innocent wolf face, I feel like cuddling the little monster, but I always remind myself that this cutie pie is a full grown ass man in wolf clothing.
“Put that tongue back!” I pointed at Cadell, ordering him.
But he didn’t listen to my words. Instead, he lowered himself down and gave me the googly eyes, trying to tempt me.
“No, Eve! Turn away!” I commanded myself, trying to resist the temptation.
And to get away from Cadell’s cuteness, I ran out of the room and met the maid standing outside my door, frowning at me.
I gave her a smile, but she didn’t return it. She just led me to the Queen’s chamber like she said.
I followed from behind, thinking of what the Queen would say and how I’d react. At this point, I was wishing for that fearless side from that day, to take over me again.
“Come on, I know you’re in there somewhere. Just work your magic again,” I begged from within, poking my stomach.
This I did until I found myself in the Queen’s chamber.
It was a different living room with the Queen’s picture hanging around like a shrine.
The maid soon left me with no words, making me uncomfortable.
“Now what?” I questioned myself, stepping fully into the chamber, hovering my gaze around the room.
When I drew closer to a red decorated chair that had it’s back at me, right at my left hand side… “Do you care to explain your behavior, Evolet?”
I heard the Queen’s voice from that same chair, causing me to shiver in fear as I drew away.
That’s when I saw the Queen rise from the seat, turning around to face me. She wore a red dress that matched the chair, looking fancy like always.
No wonder I didn’t notice her. She went camouflage.
“Greetings, Queen Chriselda,” I greeted, bowing at her.
But she didn’t care about my greetings.
“I don’t need that nonsense from you, Omega. I want to know why you have decided to disobey my rules in this mansion!” She raised, drawing closer to me.
“For three days you haven’t been taking part in the training. You no longer join your mates at the dining or any gatherings. You just made your room your world! Such… Such a behavior will not be tolerated in my home!” she roared, stamping her feet to the floor.
I did my best to look away, saying in my defense, “My Queen, I told you already. My wolf is ill. It’s important for me to keep an eye on him. If I just leave him to run around, you will get mad.”
“You act as if I was the one who made that rodent your pet, you foolish Omega,” she groaned at me, tightening her fist.
Her words left a spark of detest for her in my heart. I could feel something taking over me just like the last time, ready to pour out something harsh. But I held myself back, calming my temper.
With a calm voice, I said, “I can understand my personal issue is getting in the way of this hunt, my Queen. Maybe it’s best if you just send me away. After all, I’ve broken all your rules.”
“Indeed you’ve broken all my rules. You’re the worst damsel I’ve ever seen. Firstly, you have no wolf. Secondly, you have no manners. All the traits you possess are nothing compared to a Luna. Everything about you is filthy!” she insulted, annoying me from within.
But still, I held my temper back, because all what she was saying shows that she’s tired of my presence and wants me gone.
It’s the emotion I’ve been waiting for.
“From the day I saw you at the arena, I already knew you were nothing but trouble. A wolfless and mannerless Omega like yourself can never be my son’s bride. You are useless!”
“Aren’t you done? Geez!” I complained in my mind, dangling my hands at my back.
“And yes, you have broken a lot of my rules. And for that, you shall be punished.”
Finally! It’s judgement time!
I lowered my head before the Queen, awaiting her final say.
“And your punishment is that you…” she paused, turning the room silent.
I wanted to lift my head and know why she had suddenly gone quiet. But that’s when she completed her words. “You will remain here and take part in the next game.”
“What?!” I raised my head, looking straight at the Queen. She had her shoulders lifted, gazing at me with full power.
“You heard me, Omega. You will finish what you started. That’s your punishment.”
“But I broke your rules! Why do you want me to go ahead with the hunt? This… this isn’t the same judgement you passed on those girls the other day! Why is mine different?” I questioned, unable to accept this decision from the Queen.
That’s when she said, lifting her right brow at me, “As far as I remember, you were the same person fighting for your place in my mansion. Even Beta Dean stood in for you, saving your spot in the hunt. You were so desperate to remain in the game that you even dared to speak to me with no respect. And now you have suddenly developed an interest to flee from the game, using that dog as an excuse?”
“What?” my eyes popped at the Queen’s words.
“Don’t take me for a fool, Omega. I know what is happening here. You are trying to use me to leave the hunt. Isn’t that right?” she questioned, smirking at me.
Damn! How did she know? Was it that obvious?
But no one suspects a thing! Not even Fiona and the others. So, how come the Queen knows?
“No Evolet, she’s trying to get the truth out from you. Stay strong,” a voice in my head advised, making me aware of the Queen’s plan.
It’s just a hunch. She wants me to spill the main reason out. She can’t know that it’s because of her son I want to flee from this den. Who knows what she’ll do to me?
“Well, aren’t you going to say anything?” she asked, getting impatient. “I’m right, ain’t I, Omega? You want to leave because of something else. You purposely broke the rules to get me to kick you out. Isn’t that correct?”
“My Queen, I don’t know what you’re implying at here. All I know is that I’ve broken your rules and it’s because of my Wolf. Your way of punishing we damsels is by evicting us from the hunt, and I was expecting that from you, so I can take my personal matter out from your home and back to mine. But if you have decided that I will stay and take part in the games, then fine. I will do as you have said,” I boldly uttered, looking straight into the Queen’s eyes.
And from the way she gazed back, I could tell she wasn’t pleased with my response.
She wants to milk the truth out of me. But she won’t get a thing.
Scoffing, she said, “Whether you hide it or not, Omega, the truth will surely come to light. And when it does, you’ll be sorry that you tried to use me for your foolish gain.”
I gulped down, maintaining my composure before her.
“You may leave now. Go and join the others in training. And if you disobey me, I’ll make sure the sorceress gives you a well served punishment herself,” she threatened, pointing at the door.
What a Queen!
In the open she’s an angel, but behind these walls, she’s the opposite!
I left the room, heading for the arena as instructed.
It’s good that I maintained myself, pretending not to understand what she was saying. But hearing her threat, makes me feel scared.
She won’t evict me, but wants me to proceed with the hunt.
“Well, if that’s what she wants, then I’m going to give it to her,” I smirked, having a plan in mind.
