EVOLET
“What happened in there?”
I sat on the floor in my room, thinking about my encounter with Allen and what transpired between us.
“Everything was going so well with us, and the moment I reminded Allen of our first time together, he just flared at me. Did I do something wrong?” I pondered on, feeling troubled.
Due to the stress, I had to leave that area without waiting for Derby. The sudden shock frightened me to the core.
I wasn’t expecting such reaction from Allen.
Not at all.
“Goodness! Is it because I ran away from him that night? Is that why he got mad?” I gasped, getting suspicious.
I saw no other thing that would have made Allen mad, except for that. He had forgotten about it, but I reminded him. He wanted me that night, but I left him hanging.
“What have I done?” I grabbed my hair, swaying my head. “It’s all my fault. I need to fix this at once. I need to see Allen and apologize to him,” I decided.
Quickly, I left the room and went back to the study room to see if I’d get the chance to meet Alpha Allen. But on arrival, I learnt from a maid that he wasn’t in.
“Oh, can you tell me where he is?” I asked.
She swayed her head and responded, “The Alpha isn’t in. He went out for an important work, with the Beta.”
“Oh, I… I see.” My heart grew weak, feeling upset.
I appreciated the maid’s help, before heading back to my room to blame myself for everything that happened.
“Do I have a problem? First it was Cadell, now Allen. Why… why’s everything going the wrong way for me?”
.
That afternoon, we started our training with Gamma Dave at the arena.
Our next challenge was going to be a sword fight, and it was important for we damsels to learn how to hold and fight with a sword before the D day comes.
Others were putting their mind into the training, except for me. I was lost in my thoughts, thinking about Allen and Cadell.
“Will I get the chance to speak to him today again? And Cadell… Will he come back tonight?” I wondered.
All of a sudden, I felt a strong hand poke me on the chest, startling me out of my thoughts. When I came to my senses, I met Gamma Dave before me, glaring.
My whole body shivered on seeing his terrifying expression. He got the others looking at me, as he questioned out loudly, “Is this the place to daydream?”
“No… No,” I stammered, lowering my head while gripping my sword tight.
I could hear some of the girls cackling, most especially Fiona, who responded to the Gamma’s question mockingly, “She’s still dreaming about the few minutes she spent with the Alpha. She has never been with a man before.”
They laughed out loudly.
I felt embarrassed, receiving the Gamma’s brutal words all alone. “If you came here to dream about that rubbish, then it’s best you leave this arena, because I don’t tolerate such nonsense from weaklings like yourself.”
“I’m sorry, Gamma,” I apologized, joining the others immediately.
My whole body vibrated from the disgrace, wishing I was never absentminded in the first place.
“Is everything okay, Eve?” Derby whispered next to me.
I didn’t see when she came over to stand next to me.
“Yeah,” I answered, delivering a smile.
She hummed, saying, “If you feel like talking to someone about anything, know I’m here.” Her lips curved into a smile, patting me on the arm before getting into position.
Her kindness was able to reduce my stress, helping me focus in the training. But when we all went back to our rooms at night, after the training, I was back to myself again.
It was Cadell. He wasn’t back.
I had to open my window wide and sit there, patiently waiting for his arrival. I wanted to apologize to him for making him mad, but that can only be possible if he shows up.
“Maybe he got stuck up with something. I’ll… I’ll wait,” I sighed, wrapping my blanket around my body, and gently placing my head on the wall.
All night, I stayed there, but woke up to see that Cadell never returned.
This broke my heart even more, increasing my guilt.
“Goddess, I hope he’s fine? What if the Alpha and his men caught him?!” I panicked, getting worried.
“No, if he did, the whole pack would have known by now. Yeah, he must be busy with his daily routine,” I believed, nodding my head.
But the fear… I just couldn’t get over it. I feel so worried about Cadell.
“And I can’t step out to look for him even if I wanted to. Damn it! Where are you?!”
I was in this mood until our next training with both Beta and Gamma.
On seeing the Beta, my mind went to Alpha Allen. “That means he’s back! I need to see him. Maybe after practice. No, dinner. Seems he’s always free around that time. Yes,” I planned, getting fired up. “I want to make things right with Allen. I’ll apologize to him for my action.”
Throughout the practice, I was fully focused, doing what the Beta and Gamma instructed we damsels to do.
I even got some assistance from Beta Dean, who had held me from the waist to help me get a pose the Gamma was showing us.
He even smiled at me and said, “You’re doing well.”
That made me happy.
.
As planned, right after dinner, I made my move.
I stepped out of the mansion, faking a stroll, just to see if I’d spot Allen in the corner like the other night. But I went around the mansion and didn’t see him.
“Seems he didn’t come out tonight,” I observed, making my way back inside.
I didn’t feel like heading to my room just yet. My desperation got the best of me and I decided to tour other parts of the mansion. Areas we Damsels have never gotten to. More like forbidden areas.
I walked through a passage, avoiding the guards and maids that went by. I didn’t want anyone spotting me, so hiding became my best move.
From one room to another, I peeped in to search for Allen, but he wasn’t in anyone.
I soon thought of the rooms upstairs and believed he was in his bedroom getting some rest. But how do I get there without being seen?
“It’s going to be hard by this time. I don’t want the Queen or the sorceress to see me. Gosh, I’ll have to come back by midnight,” I accepted, heading back to my room to wait.
And once it was one in the middle of the night, I snuck out of my room and began to head for the staircase, quietly.
No guards or maids around at that hour to stop me. The only guards awake at midnight, were the ones keeping the entrance of the mansion safe.
I went up the stairs and was stunned to see how wide it was. There were a lot of doors and pathways there, meaning my job was going to tough.
“You can do this, Evolet. Be strong.” I sighed and began to look around, being careful not to open the Queen’s door and get her attention.
That would be terrifying.
A quick death sentence I’ll call it.
Still carrying out this risky mission, I heard sounds coming from one of the rooms at my right hand side.
It sounded funny, but it felt like someone was there.
Just as I was about to check… “WOW!” I exclaimed, feeling my body being pulled back by a strong force!
Before I could blink my eyes, my back met the wall hard, pinning me like a picture frame!
I began to breathe out heavily, wondering what was happening to me. That’s when I spotted Sorceress Thelma walking out of a room that I had already searched.
But no one was there when I searched! Was she invisible?
Damn it! This is Bad.
“What are you doing here, Omega?” she questioned, shimmering her yellow wolf eyes at me.
“Nothing! I was doing nothing!” I blurted out in fear.
“Don’t lie to me, you rat! This is the middle of the night and you are supposed to be in bed. Worst, you dared to step your feet into a private area of the Royal family?! You poor filthy Omega! You have no right to be here!” she roared, glaring intensely.
Her power pushed me harder to the wall, causing me pains slowly. I groaned under her spell, thinking of a way out of this mess I just made.
I don’t wish to wait and see what the Sorceress will do to me.
“You better tell me the truth, otherwise…”
She opened her left palm, revealing a red ball of light, hovering in her hand.
Not ready to know what it does, I immediately voiced out, “My wolf!”
“Your wolf?” she lifted her brow confusingly.
“Yes, my wolf. I saw… I saw him come this… way! I’m… trying to find him,” I forced out, hoping she’d let me go.
The elderly sorceress dimmed her eyes at me, almost as if she didn’t believe a thing I said. But luckily for me, she did.
She released me from her force, causing me to struggle for air.
“Your dirty dog is here?” she asked.
I nodded, so she’d think it’s true.
That’s when she scoffed and said, “You and that animal. I’ll fish the beast out with my spell, and if you’re lying to me, I’ll punish you.”
“He did come this way,” I lied, getting scared of the outcome.
Right before my eyes, Sorceress Thelma placed a spell and snapped her finger, waiting for the result.
I was already shaking and begging the Goddess to help me. My fingers played with my necklace roughly, praying for the heaven to intervene.
Just then… “Hmm,” the sorceress uttered, turning to face me.
The look on her face made it hard for me to tell if she had discovered my lies. But what happened next surprised me.
“Your wolf must be playing hard to get. Just search quickly and leave. If I return here and see you haven’t gone…” she closed her eyelids midway, sending a warning.
“You can trust me, Sorceress. I’ll take my wolf and leave at once,” I promised.
She hummed and left, leaving me surprised.
“But she used her power to search for him. If her spell couldn’t fish Cadell out, why didn’t she attack me?” I was confused.
Scared of the sorceress, I didn’t bother to check the other rooms for Allen. I just locked up and decided to return to my bedroom.
While heading for the stairs, I froze on seeing both Beta Dean and Gamma Dave coming.
They didn’t see me because they were talking. That gave me the chance to hide in one of the rooms I searched, waiting for them to pass.
I heard their footsteps when they stepped into the floor. But I also heard something else from the two men.
“You need to be gentle with those ladies, Dave. I’ve told you.”
“You are telling me to do something I can’t do, Dean. As long as the Queen has made me a trainer to those women, I will train them like my men.”
“Dave.”
“What? You think I enjoy this? I’m surrounded by weaklings with no brain, most especially that one with a wolf as a pet.”
I gasped, realizing he was referring to me.
“Evolet?”
“Oh, so you even know her name, you sneaky wolf. Well, she’s the annoying one among them, and I can’t wait to see how she breaks into a million pieces when Alpha Allen picks his Luna.”
“What?” my eyes widened at what Gamma Dave was saying.
Why would he utter that?
That’s when he shared something with Beta Dean, shocking me.
“Would you believe me when I say that Alpha Allen has met her before the commencement of this hunt?”
“For real?” Beta Dean sounded surprised.
“Yeah, it’s true. And that pissed the Alpha because she’s here. He said he’s going to make sure she gets evicted, so she won’t ruin his reputation.”
Dazed, my body quivered at what the Gamma had just said. Is he talking about the same Allen we know? “No, this can’t be true. It can’t.” My heart began to race uncontrollably, refusing to accept this.
“Did you smell that?” I heard the Gamma ask the Beta.
I took a peep through the slightly opened down and saw Gamma Dave sniffing the air, trying to pick something.
Wait a minute. Is it my scent?
Oh no! They can’t find me here or I’ll be in trouble!
He kept sniffing and trying to trace this smell. That’s when Beta Dean said, “It’s coming from the room down at the right. The Alpha is busy with something.”
What he said stopped Gamma Dave at once. I saw the Gamma smirking out cunningly, biting down on his lower lip.
“Something huh? I see,” he chuckled.
“Whatever. Let’s go.”
They both walked away, setting the coast free.
From what the Beta said, I realized Allen was in one of the rooms at the right. Probably the room I heard noises coming from.
“What the Gamma said… Is it… No! I need see Allen and clear things up. He can’t think of such a thing. It has to be a mistake.”
Quickly, I left the room and tried to retrace the room I heard that noise from.
Luckily, I heard the noise again and immediately pointed out the door.
Carefully, I opened it a bit and noticed a shadow in the room. It was a man’s shadow, shaped like Allen.
I wanted to open it wide and step in, not until I saw something unexpected.
Allen, he came into light, pulling a veiled woman along with him! I was stunned, watching how he ran his hands around this woman’s body, kissing her hungrily!
“Allen? Who… who is the lady with…” I stammered, unable to control the sudden sharp pain in my chest.
The veiled lady, she looked familiar.
Yes! She’s the same lady I saw walking away from behind Allen the other night. She’s the one!
My body was stiffed as I kept watching Allen gumming body with this woman, slowly unzipping her dress.
This horrifying scene made my heart ache deeply. The man I love is busy making love to another woman.
And as if that wasn’t enough to kill me, the veil on the strange woman’s head fell off, revealing the identity of this lady.
“Fiona?!” I froze in horror.
Fiona was the lady Alpha Allen was making out with. She seductively took off her dress and stood naked before Allen, sliding her hand down to his belt.
Allen grinned at her and said, holding her from the hip, “You are gorgeous. The most beautiful being I’ve ever seen. If I had a diamond ring right now, it would be around your finger.”
I gasped on hearing that statement. It’s the same lines he professed to me!
Shocked, I recalled Cadell’s words about Allen and how he stood his ground on it.
That’s when my eyes came opened.
Allen… He’s a pervert.
