The situation shifted dramatically.
The flamboyant women began to shout as well. “Mr. Stewart, let’s show this woman a thing or two!”
The sting of the slap twisted her delicate features into something malicious. “Then sell her off to a brothel, where she can entertain clients every day!”
Lisa felt a surge of anger but didn’t dare to speak up. The other side was intimidating enough, and further provoking them would only lead to her own downfall.
She was aggressive, but that didn’t mean she was foolish. She could see the reality of the situation clearly.
“If you touch her, you’ll regret it.”
Shawn covered the clear handprint on his face and yelled, “You’ll definitely regret it!”
Thump!
Before he could finish, the big-nosed man kicked him again, sending Shawn crashing to the ground, his initial bravado completely shattered.
Karlee tried to rush in, but Jefferson firmly grabbed her arm. He couldn’t let Karlee get hurt.
“Karlee, don’t go! They’re all bastards and they fight hard!”
“I’ve called for backup. Once they arrive, we’ll settle this score.”
“If you go now, you’ll definitely get hurt. I can’t let that happen.”
Jefferson was tense, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. The fight tonight was brutal, a once-in-a-decade event. He couldn’t showcase his prowess. He could only protect.
Karlee forcefully pulled Jefferson’s hand away. “Let go.”
At that moment, Lisa shouted, “Don’t do anything reckless, or I’ll make you regret it!”
“Regret it?”
Samuel, with his arm around the flamboyant woman, stepped forward with a sinister smile, and everyone else made way. He reached out to pinch Lisa’s face.
“I want to see how you’re going to make me regret it.”
Lisa turned her head away and stepped back two paces, filled with anger as she glanced at her male companions.
In the face of this situation, the women who couldn’t shake off their inherently gentle nature could only rely on the men. Unfortunately, they all cowered under the big-nosed youth’s dominance, and no one dared to stand up to him. They could only clench their fists in frustration.
Lisa’s hope gradually faded into disappointment and helplessness, and she finally had to play her trump card.
“My father is Fisher Chavez!”
However, this threat had no effect. Samuel remained indifferent. “Oh, your father is Fisher Chavez, who almost got sent to prison half a month ago?”
“Your father is about to fall. You still dare to use his name to scare people? Even if he weren’t in trouble, your dad is just an inconspicuous little character in Whiteville. Who can he scare?”
“Probably just the citizens.”
“Cut the crap. Stay here tonight and serve my distinguished guest. If you do well, I’ll overlook the slap you gave my woman.”
Samuel’s sinister smile sent chills down everyone’s spine. “Otherwise, you’ll all be in for a rough night.”
Faced with the declining Chavez family, which had been dragged down by the Swain family case due to their ties with Zane, Samuel showed them no respect.
“Don’t bully Lisa.”
Karlee pushed Jefferson, who was holding her tightly, aside and firmly stood in front of Lisa. “If there’s trouble, I’ll take it on.”
Lisa looked at her, a mix of emotions on her face.
Darnell was seething with anger. Why was this girl so impulsive?
“Karlee, be careful!”
Seeing Karlee rushing out to protect Lisa, Jefferson shouted as he grabbed a wine bottle and charged forward.
Bang!
The wine bottle shattered, spilling remnants all over Samuel’s head. Jefferson’s attack was clever and decisive, but the result was unexpected.
Samuel shook his head, a sinister smile on his face, wiping away the liquid. Apart from a slight redness on his forehead, his scalp was unharmed.
He then raised his foot and kicked, sending the bewildered Jefferson flying more than two meters, crashing into several others on the ground.
Before Samuel could issue any commands, the big-nosed man charged forward and kicked Jefferson again, sending him sprawling at Darnell’s feet, blood trickling from his mouth.
Darnell reached out to help him up, a glimmer of admiration in his eyes. “You really care about Karlee, don’t you?”
Even knowing he was outmatched, Jefferson had bravely stepped forward to protect Karlee. That kind of devotion was truly commendable.
In pain, Jefferson heard Darnell’s words and immediately clenched his teeth, lifting his head with pride, as if he were a hero.
“Kid, how dare you touch Mr. Stewart? Today, I’ll ruin you.”
At that moment, the big-nosed man picked up a shard of glass, its sharp edge glistening ominously, ready to deliver a brutal lesson to Jefferson. Karlee shouted again, “Don’t touch my friend. If there’s a problem, come at me!”
“Come at you?”
Samuel’s eyes lit up as he noticed Karlee, his grin becoming more lecherous. “Woman, is that how eager you are for a man?”
“Honey!”
Karlee suddenly yelled at Darnell, “Someone is bullying me, your wife!”
Pfft!
Darnell spat out a mouthful of cantaloupe, splattering it all over the big-nosed man’s face.
Fuming, the big-nosed man wiped his face clean and aimed a kick at Darnell.
Before the big-nosed man could reach him, Darnell shook his soda can and then twisted it open, spraying the soda all over the big-nosed man’s face.
Caught off guard, the big-nosed man choked and staggered backward. Darnell seized the opportunity to kick him in the knee.
The big-nosed man swayed, crashing into the railing, blood streaming from his head with glass shards falling from his palm.
Seeing this, Darnell shouted, “Hey, are you okay?” He extended a hand to help the big-nosed man.
“Bastard!”
As Samuel’s expression shifted slightly, the big-nosed man, unsteady on his feet, yelled and swung his hand to grab Darnell.
He intended to crush Darnell’s hand, seeking some retribution. So when he grasped Darnell, he exerted all his strength.
“Bastard, I’ll ruin you…”
“Ouch!”
Both screams rang out almost simultaneously. While Samuel judged Darnell to be putting on an act, the big-nosed man was sent flying as if stabbed with a fiery stick.
He clutched his injured hand, blood seeping from his palm, the pain almost bringing him to tears.
“Bastard, you dare to play dirty? You’re dead meat!”
Darnell grimaced in pain. “I was trying to help you, and you crushed my hand?! You even tried to sneak attack me with glass-no wonder no one dares to offer help.”
“It’s precisely because there are too many ungrateful people like you!”
Karlee and Lisa couldn’t help but roll their eyes. This jerk was really taking things to an extreme.
The big-nosed man was furious, breathing heavily, wanting nothing more than to charge at Darnell and knock him out with a punch. But the pain in his palm made it hard to move.
Grinding his teeth, he opened his hand, blood dripping, revealing a shard of glass embedded in his palm. The pain was palpable.
Samuel’s eyelids twitched, and he shouted, “Brat, you’re too shameless.”
Darnell feigned innocence. “Don’t be unreasonable.”
“He clearly attacked me first. He was the one trying to crush my hand. Even a fool can see he was hiding glass in his palm to ambush me. It’s just unfortunate his luck ran out and it backfired.”
“None of this has anything to do with me.”
Darnell said earnestly, “On the contrary, I’m the victim here.”
The big-nosed man forgot the wound in his palm, and when Darnell provoked him, he squeezed his hand, eliciting a scream that nearly made him pass out.
Darnell sighed dramatically, “You brought this on yourself.”
Jefferson and the others quietly gave him a thumbs-up, but Lisa looked at him with disdain. “Using despicable tactics, it’s embarrassing.”
Karlee glanced at her but didn’t say anything.
At that moment, Samuel’s expression darkened. “It seems you’re tired of living.”
He waved his hand, and several of his subordinates rushed forward, surrounding Darnell in a tight circle.
“So, it’s you.”
Just then, the door to the private room opened again, and more than ten men and a woman stepped out. Cierra fixed a cold smile on Darnell.
“Finally found you.”
