“I don’t expect you to get surprised looking at me like that.”
“Do you know what you are saying? He is gone? Gone where?” I rushed towards him and held his shoulders. “Tell me where he is. Now, Chris.” I commanded.
“I don’t know.” He responded. “But he left.”
I laughed a little. “Sihwa? Leave? No, I don’t believe this.” I disagree with him. “He’s not one to run away like this. Sihwa, I know, wouldn’t leave everyone behind. He would fight to the last drop.”
“What if he’s tired of fighting?” He asked. “What if he’s tired of always taking responsibilities of everyone and the pack and left us behind? He is so powerful doesn’t mean he doesn’t have weaknesses. He is an alpha, but he’s got blood flowing through his veins.”
His words weakened me.
“He loved you so much.” He pointed out. “That’s why he gave you the pack. He stopped living the minute he fell in love with you. Do you know how he suffered and the sort of childhood he had?”
“I want to see Sihwa.” I clenched my fists.
“The only thing you know is how you would see Sihwa. You don’t care if he is in a dilemma.”
“I care about him.” I bawled at his face. “If I don’t care about him. Why would I search for him? I don’t want to hear all this nonsense from you. I want to see Sihwa and let him explain all this to me.”
“Told you, already.” Chris rolled his eyes. “I’m his brother and his best friend. I know everything you don’t know of. He left. So, go inside and take your bath, eat properly and thank Chelsea for taking care of you for a month.” He turned away from me and stopped. “Oh! And also remember you have a child within you to take care of.”
“Huh! Chelsea? A child?”
His gaze fell on me. “Yes, you didn’t use protection with him and you got pregnant. Chelsea took care of you for a month while you were sleeping. So, take care of yourself and your child.” He walked away from me. I grabbed his arm, my knees got weaker, and slumped to the floor.
“Wendy, BE CAREFUL.” Chris yelled at me and held me up from the floor to stand properly. Yet, I was still dumbfounded about the whole situation. He sighed and held my shoulders. “Look at me.”
My eyes darted to him.
“Don’t miscarriage this child. Sihwa is gone and there’s nothing we can do about it.”
“What about my revenge?” I whispered.
His brows furrowed. “Are you seriously thinking about that now?”
“Yes.” I nonchalantly answered and laughed hysterically. “Yes, Chris. I remembered everything. How we met. Got separated. He killed everyone around me because he got obsessed with my life. He followed me wherever I went and…”
“It is true.” I heard a voice behind me.
“Chris is right.” He confirmed. “He is not joking.” Shiva came up to us. “Sihwa is truly gone, and he is never coming back.” He leaned his right shoulder on the white wall, his arms wrapped on his chest in his black overcoat and jeans. “He has proclaimed you Luna of the Grimwolf pack. You are to rule over us now. Basically, you are like a mother to me.”
“A mother to you?”
“Yes,” he smiled. “You saved me when my father was beating me up. At that moment, I wish you were my mother.” He walked up to me. “Thank you for stepping up for me, despite knowing the outcome would have consequences.” He looked down at my belly. “You have a new life growing inside you. I would be his/her big brother, I guess.” He smiled warmly at me.
“Why are you-”
“I knew someday he was gonna leave.” He interrupted. “My father had always hated the pack so much. I guess he got his revenge and there was nothing for him anymore, so he left.”
“What do you mean, there was nothing for him anymore?”
“Sihwa had destroyed Twilight Springs.”
I gasped. “No.” I murmured. “No. No. No.” I shook my head. “NO.”
“The Grimwolf family has caged him for years. He had gotten his revenge. Since there was nothing for him here anymore and to feel fulfilled in himself, he had to leave the pack, because that was the only way he could feel happy.”
“I don’t get it. But-” I couldn’t stop crying.
“Sihwa had a rough childhood. It affected him mentally and made him mentally unstable. He had been suffering from it for years. If he continues to control this pack with you in it, he could end up resenting you.”
“That’s right.” Chris agreed with him. “So, rely on me. Shiva and I are gonna be your guardians in this pack.”
Guardians?
“You are our Luna now.” Shiva laughed. “We can’t let you do everything. Alpha Chris, Donovan, Kellan and Gerhard would help you out. We don’t know about Lykan, since he still hates you because of Aiden.”
“Hey, don’t bring that up,” Chris warned him.
“Aiden?” I frowned.
“Yes, Lykan and Aiden were close friends.” Shiva revealed.
“What!” I yelled in disbelief. “Close friends?”
They were enemies. Not friends.
“Yes,” he chuckled. “I don’t blame you for how surprised you are, but Aiden and Lykan have always been very close. They’ve always fought between themselves, but they are friends.”
“Loyal friends, to be exact.” Chris nonchalantly added.
“Exactly, so he hates you for causing his death.”
“Me? I didn’t cause Aiden’s death.” My eyes were on the brink of death. “I…I know nothing-” Shiva hugged me. “It’s okay.” He mumbled. “You are pale, mother. You need a lot of rest.”
My tears dropped. “Shiva.” I murmured and hugged him back. His hands felt warm, just like Sihwa’s hands. I haven’t even felt this warm in a long time.
“It’s not your fault. You had no clue about what happened. Just got conscious and everything got taken down. Don’t know what happened to Aiden. You didn’t cause his death. You only fell in love with him and we all understand that.”
I held his overcoat and burst into tears. Everything that had ever happened in my life crumbled me into pieces.
“We are gonna be here for you. All of us.” He said. “Even if you don’t want them as your mates. That’s fine. As long as you don’t mate or bond with any of them, the mate string will eventually fade away between all of you.”
I couldn’t stop crying.
“It’s okay to choose what you want to do, Luna.” He cackled. “You are a fucking billionaire, Wendy, thank your God. Sihwa left you a lot of his properties behind. Didn’t lose nothing. You got a lot at the end.”
