“Will you quit making the baby’s face cry?” I cleaned off my tears and looked at who had just spoken from Shiva’s right arm.
Gerhard.
“Gerhard.” I muttered and saw Kellan behind him, who winked at me. Donovan waved his hand with a little smirk. And Zane came forward too. “I would love to see you maintain this pack as the Luna you have become.” He said.
“Soren doesn’t want to get involved with you, but he will come once in a while.” Lykan came majestically with a smirk on his face. “Grimm is freaking pissed as hell and has made it his mission to search for Sihwa and wouldn’t come back to the pack until he has found him. Riot and I wouldn’t help you but standby to watch you crumble miserably and fade away like dust.”
“Hey,” Chris cut in. “Stop that. Now’s not the time for that.”
“It’s okay.” I murmured, and Shiva got away from me to move forward. “I understand if that’s what you want.”
“Really.” Lykan laughed out loud. “If I were you, I would reject being Luna. There’s a reason Sihwa left his seat. If you don’t leave too, you will get sucked into the darkness.”
My body flinched a little. I looked at my hands and faced him. “Let me into darkness.” I boldly dared. “I would suck everything in it.”
Lykan burst out laughing. “You are so foolish, Wendy.”
“I wouldn’t let you get sucked in while I am here.”
My body froze. My eyes widened in shock the second I perceived his sweet scent. I could never in my entire life forget the smell of his pheromones. Even if I was dead, I would still remember it.
“How cutie pie.” He laughed and his long dark purple hair waved with the icy breeze as I ran past my mates and hugged him. I tightened my arms around his shoulders.
“Father.”
“I miss you so much, Wendy.” He touched my back and hugged me. I pulled back away from him and couldn’t stop my tears from falling. “How? It’s been so long. How? How did you know I was here?”
He gave me a warm smile. “Sihwa invited me here.”
They all gasped in shock.
“He…he brought you here?”
“Yes.” He nodded. “We saw each other three weeks ago, and he told me to travel all the way from abroad here.”
I was too stunned to mutter a word.
Sihwa,
There is a silver lining to every cloud. I’ve spent my entire life hanging on those words, clinging to a sliver of hope.
Your bereaved spirit and frail heart. I would have noticed if I had been sensitive enough, if I had known how lonely, and abandoned you felt, and not gotten fooled by your lovely fake grin and laughter.
How cold your hands were and the awful anguish and sorrow you had.
If I had embraced reality with no expectations from the outset. If I hadn’t met you that night. Maybe our lives would have been different from the start. We never know. Our futures remain in our control.
Sihwa, isn’t it true that we become what we think?
You taught me these words. But I’m suspecting you lied to me merely to mask your aching heart. I wish I could have shown you how lovely life is, but you fell so far into the darkness that I couldn’t reach out to you.
We ended up destroying ourselves.
Do you remember how you promised to view the red sunset with me over the mountain once I turned 18?
We made a promise.
Or is it too late to start all over again? Oh, that reminds me: your hair is as red as that red sunset when it glows over you.
“HELLOOOO DESCRIBABLE LOSERS AND WEREWOLVES OF THE GRIMWOLF CLAN. MY NAME IS Shiraz GRIMWOLF. THE SON OF SIHWA GRIMWOLF. THE TRUE ALPHA AND THE HEIR TO THIS PACK. SO YOU BETTER RESPECT ME AND MY THRONE. BOW DOWN TO YOUR FUTURE ALPHA.” His voice echoes from the window outside.
“MY NAME IS SAMANTHA GRIMWOLF. I’M SHIRAZ’S BEST FRIEND, HIS COUSIN AND I’M FROM THIS PACK.” She elegantly introduced herself. “YOU GOTTA HAVE TO RESPECT ME NOW, BECAUSE WHEN I GET FAMOUS. Y’ALL ARE GOING DOWN.”
The two of them yelled across the window. The wolves who passed by stopped and watched them talking from the window.
“Isn’t that Alpha Shiraz?” A blonde woman commented with a basket in her arms.
“Yeah, he is. I hope he doesn’t fall from that window with his little girlfriend.”
“Yuck.” His expression squeezed in disgust. “She’s not my girlfriend. That’s disgusting.” The tone of his voice increases. “Shut up, losers.”
“Eww.” Samantha joined him.
I walked up to them and knocked them on their heads.
“Ouch.” They both yelled in pain, and Shiraz faced me. “That hurt like hell.”
“Haven’t I warned you to stop yelling at the window? People are watching you and before you know it, they are gonna start gossiping about the both of you. Have some respect.” I cautioned them and sat down on the bench beside Shiraz with a long rectangle table in front of us and another bench across the other side of the table at where Samantha knelt at.
Shiraz sat down with a pout. “I was just having some fun.”
“That’s not how to have fun.” I reminded him. “Learn to show respect and greet your elders. You are an alpha. Of course, you are the heir to this pack. That’s true, but the people of the clan don’t want a spoiled brat as their leader. Always remember that.”
“They want a good Alpha.” Samantha beamed with a chuckle. Her hands covered her mouth as she laughed.
“It’s not funny, Samantha. Shut your mouth.”
“Focus on what I’m talking about and stop looking at Samantha, Shiraz.” I scolded with a long sigh. “And stop swearing. You are too young to swear. Who’s teaching you how to swear?”
Samantha kept laughing.
“It must be from my dad.” She ratted him out. “My dad is always swearing and cursing out. He must have learned that from him.”
“I didn’t learn it from Uncle Lykan.” He defended himself. “Shut up.”
“Then who else swears and curses out like that?”
“My other uncles do that as well. Not only Uncle Lykan.” he folded his arms across his chest. “What are you talking about?”
“But he does it the most.” She argued.
“Don’t be stupid. Stupid.”
“You are the one that is stupid.”
“That’s enough.” I interrupted with my hands up. “I don’t want the both of you swearing and cursing out. You are too young for that. Language, please. Use your words respectfully.”
The door opening before us caught our attention. Shiva came in with a fitted black suit on and looked at the both of us.
“Uncle Shiva.” Samantha climbed down the bench and ran over to him. Shiva squatted before her and hugged her while laughing. “How are you doing, cutie?”
