Without hesitation, Rosalind hung up and blocked the number.
There was no need to stay in touch with someone who had betrayed her.
Whether he wanted to explain or shift the blame, she didn’t want to hear it.
She hailed a taxi and rushed to the designated address, only to discover that it was the private hospital of the Walters family. It was impossible for her to even enter the gate, let alone see Ulric!
As Rosalind saw a car coming out from inside, she quickly wheeled herself over and stopped in front of it.
The car screeched to a halt, narrowly avoiding hitting her!
“Who are you?”
A foreigner got out of the car, presumably a doctor, still wearing a white coat. He looked surprised when he saw Rosalind.
“I want to see Ulric. Can you let me in?”
“See the young master?” He raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing Rosalind up and down before refusing, “No, this is a private hospital. You can only enter if the young master permits.”
With that, he was about to leave. However, Rosalind stubbornly placed her wheelchair in front of the car, determined not to let it go.
The doctor sighed and got out of the car again. “It’s against the rules. I can’t do anything about it.”
“Then tell me, how is Ulric? Has he… woken up?”
“I can’t say that!” He couldn’t just say anything without knowing who she was. What if it caused trouble for the Walters family? He couldn’t bear the consequences.
Rosalind quickly explained, “I am Ulric’s… ex-wife. He got injured this time because he saved me! You don’t have to let me in. I just want to know how he is doing!”
The young master’s ex-wife?
He had never heard that the young master had been married before.
“Miss, are you trying to deceive me? The young master only has a girlfriend named Sirena. I’ve never heard of him having an ex-wife.”
Rosalind knew that people from the Walters family would never acknowledge her. Audrey would never introduce her to anyone.
For a wealthy family like the Walters, if the heir were to marry an ordinary woman, it would be a source of mockery for them.
Rosalind was well aware of this from the beginning. The difference between her and Ulric was definitely more than just a CEO and an assistant.
“You can go now. Please don’t make things difficult for me,” the doctor sighed.
“Just tell me if he’s alive, please?” Rosalind pleaded, feeling desperate.
She had come all the way here. Without hearing the answer she was seeking, she had no intention of leaving.
Even if someone from the Walters family beat her up today, she wouldn’t leave! All she wanted was to know if Ulric was still alive. It was such a simple request…
“Of course, the young master is alive!” The doctor blurted out instinctively but then covered his mouth in fear. “I-I didn’t say anything!”
Upon hearing that Ulric was alive, Rosalind felt a slight sense of relief.
She didn’t intend to cause trouble for this doctor either. “Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone. I don’t even know you.”
Rosalind moved her wheelchair aside and watched as his car drove away, finally showing a hint of a smile on her face.
He was alive, and that was all that mattered!
Suddenly…
Rosalind heard someone calling her name!
She turned around and saw Audrey standing at the entrance of the hospital, looking at her with hostility.
“Rosalind?! What are you doing here?”
“I came to see Ulric.”
“What audacity! Who do you think you are, wanting to see my son?” Audrey’s voice was sharp and filled with sarcasm. “I haven’t settled accounts with you yet, but you’ve come causing a scene here! Rosalind, this is what you’ve brought upon yourself.”
