“Just say that Mommy turned into a butterfly and flew away!”
Tilda rolled her eyes in frustration. “Then I’ll go into hiding first. When your uncle Malcolm comes, you can say that your mommy and I turned into butterflies and flew away together!”
“Can’t you take me with you?”
Jake grabbed onto Tilda’s clothes, pleading, “Aunt Tilda, don’t leave me behind!”
“You’ll be fine. It’s just that I’m in big trouble…”
Tilda stood in the hospital room for a while before reluctantly calling Malcolm.
As soon as he picked up, he immediately asked, “Did something happen to Rosalind?”
“Um… She should be… doing well, quite happy actually!”
“That’s good. I’ll freshen up and go to the hospital to take over for you. Is there anything you want to eat? I’ll bring it over.” Malcolm breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that Rosalind was fine, and his voice became much lighter.
Tilda didn’t know how to confess anymore.
She hesitated, quickly catching Malcolm’s attention.
“What’s wrong?”
“Malcolm… Rosalind, she’s not at the hospital anymore.” After Tilda finished speaking, she shrunk her neck. “She went to find Ulric.”
“What did you say?!”
“It was Jake! Jake definitely told her where Ulric was!” Tilda directly pushed the little troublemaker forward!
If it weren’t for this bad boy, she wouldn’t have been in trouble!
Upon hearing this, Jake widened his eyes. “Aunt Tilda! That’s not cool!”
“No, I think this is the most right thing I’ve ever done!”
Malcolm had no mood to listen to their antics. After hanging up the phone, he immediately rushed to the hospital.
As soon as he entered, he saw the two of them standing there and looking at him with a sense of guilt.
Malcolm sighed heavily, trying his best not to scare the child.
He walked quickly to Jake’s side and crouched down. “Jake, tell me where your mom went.”
Jake shook his head and refused to speak.
“I’m trying to protect her, not harm her! She’s injured, yet she went abroad alone. Are you at ease with that?”
Jake was still young after all and couldn’t think that far ahead.
But when Malcolm said it like that, it seemed to make some sense.
“As long as you tell me where she went, I won’t stop her from going there. I just want to take care of her too! She can’t even stand on her own legs. If she gets bullied overseas and has no one to help her…”
Jake blinked his eyes and asked softly, “Will you really let Mommy go?”
“I will! Besides… I’ve never been able to keep her anyway.” It wasn’t the first time. He was used to it.
“Fine then.”
Jake sent Malcolm the address of Ulric’s phone that he had tracked, and added specifically, “Uncle Malcolm, when I helped Mommy get her passport, I accidentally threw away your passport… You might need to get a new one…”
Tilda couldn’t laugh on the side. In the end, she could only say, “Jake, you really are your mom’s good son!”
…
With Jake’s help, Rosalind headed straight for where Ulric was.
Because she couldn’t stand on her own legs, she sat in a wheelchair all the way.
She knew that even if she arrived at that place, it wouldn’t be easy to see Ulric easily. But Rosalind had only one belief in her heart.
She had to go!
Even if the road ahead was difficult, she had to be by Ulric’s side.
The plane finally landed on time at the destination. Rosalind sent a message to Jake, letting him know she arrived safely before leaving the airport.
Just as she was about to hail a taxi for herself, her phone rang.
She looked down and saw that it was Lion calling.
