When Floyd and Jake were mentioned, Rosalind’s eyes finally showed a different expression.
“Floyd… Is she okay?”
“She’s fine! Sirena didn’t do anything to her, and Tilda had been protecting her the whole time.”
“What about Tilda?”
Malcolm pursed his thin lips and didn’t immediately answer her.
Rosalind’s heart suddenly tightened, and she grabbed his sleeve, anxiously asking, “Is Tilda badly injured? Did Sirena do something to her?”
The fear instantly rose in Rosalind’s mind when she thought about what Sirena wanted to do to her!
She was afraid that Tilda had already suffered from those tortures!
“She’s fine, perfectly fine! Don’t worry, Tilda has been taken back by her parents for care.” Malcolm quickly reassured her. “You’re the one who’s most seriously injured, Rosalind. Go back with me. You don’t know how long you’ll have to wait here!”
When Malcolm arrived at the scene, Ulric had already fallen into a deep coma and was taken away in an ambulance along with Sirena.
He went inside the warehouse and immediately smelled the strong scent of blood. Following the smell, he saw a large pool of blood on the ground.
It was a horrifying sight!
Malcolm really thought Ulric wouldn’t survive.
Later on, it was only because he asked Cedric, who was responsible for cleaning up the aftermath, that he found out which hospital Ulric had been taken to.
Malcolm knew that once Rosalind woke up, she would definitely ask about it.
Given Ulric’s injuries, Malcolm knew Ulric’s condition was not good. Even if Rosalind stayed at the door all night, there might not be any news today.
“Just let me stay here and accompany him.” Rosalind weakly murmured, “He has done so much for me. Let me do something for him too…”
Malcolm lowered his gaze and realized how thin she really was. She had become even thinner since coming to Northville City.
Her collarbones were deeply sunken, and when she lowered her head, her cervical vertebrae looked frighteningly protruded.
“I can never refuse you.”
Malcolm sighed heavily and called his friend at Central Union Hospital to bring a coat and some fever-reducing medicine.
Even if she didn’t go back for treatment, she needed to reduce her fever!
If this continued, she would faint here.
Knowing she wouldn’t heed his words, Malcolm stayed with Rosalind and waited there. They waited until it turned dark and then bright again. The torrential rain stopped. They waited until the whole pack of cigarettes in his pocket was finished, but still, there was no news.
Finally, at seven o’clock in the morning, a person in a white coat came out and opened the door.
When they saw Rosalind and Malcolm, they were startled.
“What… What are you doing here?”
Rosalind tried to speak but her voice seemed to be gone. She moved her lips but no sound came out.
Luckily, Malcolm was there. He stood up and approached. “Hello, I wanted to ask about the patient named Ulric Walters, who was brought here yesterday. How is he doing?”
The doctor paused for a moment before realizing it. “Ah! You mean the young master from an extremely wealthy family?”
“Yes!”
“He’s gone. He left overnight for abroad!” The doctor glanced at Rosalind, who had lost all color in her face, and continued, “His injuries were too severe. That stab wound was fatal! It went through his entire chest. There was nothing we could do.”
Malcolm hadn’t expected that the Walters had all left. He turned around to support Rosalind as she struggled to crawl towards the doctor’s feet and asked with a dry voice,
“He… Which country did he go to?”
“Well, I don’t know.”
