Chapter 457: Rosalind’s High Fever

Book:Wrong Invitation For My Mr Right Published:2025-2-7

Rosalind was left outside the hospital, watching helplessly as the doors closed and locked, unable to get up and stop them!
She hated her own helplessness, hating that she couldn’t do anything at this moment!
It seemed that in her relationship with Ulric, she had always been the passive one, while Ulric was always the one giving everything, always rushing ahead without hesitation, protecting her.
As night fell, the sky gradually darkened…
The evening breeze grew stronger, carrying the scent of earth, a prelude to an impending storm.
Before long, thunder began to rumble.
Rosalind looked up at the tightly closed doors, as if a clear line separated the two sides.
Those inside couldn’t come out, and those outside couldn’t go in.
Large raindrops mixed with cold wind suddenly fell on Rosalind, washing away the dried blood on her body and drenching her thin clothes…
But Rosalind didn’t leave. She even exerted all her strength to prop herself up and move closer to the door, just a little closer…
This was where she could stay, closest to Ulric.
She didn’t know how long it had been or how long it had rained. Rosalind only felt that the rain above her head suddenly stopped.
She slowly looked up and saw Malcolm holding a black umbrella, standing beside her.
“Rosalind, let’s go back.”
“No…”
Rosalind spoke, her voice hoarse.
Malcolm crouched down and wiped her rain-soaked cheeks with his sleeve. “Don’t you understand? Whenever you and Ulric get close, you bring disaster upon each other! If you didn’t have him, your life might be plain but at least stable. And if he didn’t have you, he would still be the noble Mr. Walters!”
His words pierced Rosalind’s heart.
She suddenly clutched her chest in pain. It felt like a stone weighing her down, making it hard for Rosalind to breathe. Tears uncontrollably streamed down her face.
“I never wanted to harm him…” She would rather be the one dying right now!
“Yes, I know. Even Ulric’s parents know! But as you can see, even when Sirena did such a thing, the Walters family chose not to accept you.”
Malcolm wasn’t interested in what they would do to Sirena. He just wanted to persuade Rosalind to go back and stop ruining her own body.
“Malcolm, let me wait for him here. As long as I know he survives, I’ll leave.”
Both mentally and physically exhausted, Rosalind had long been running on fumes. Only the belief in seeing Ulric kept her going.
Malcolm covered her head with the umbrella and reached out to lift her up. But as soon as his hand touched Rosalind’s skin, he was startled by her burning temperature!
“You have a fever! Rosalind, come back with me!”
She had just undergone surgery and was still covered in wounds. After being soaked in rain for so long, it was a miracle that she hadn’t slipped into a coma!
“No, I’m not leaving.” Even though her face was pale and her voice unstable, she said the word “no” very clearly. “He hasn’t woken up yet. I want to be with him…”
Malcolm grew increasingly frustrated. “Rosalind! Do you want to kill yourself? Think about your children! Floyd and Jake are waiting for you. They are your children with Ulric!”
