Mr. Wong reminded her to use her connections, not just out of kindness, but because if she could get along with Ulric, he would have a way to contact Ulric himself. If he could curry favor with him, he might rise through the ranks quickly.
At Eastsun Corporation, Mr. Wong had already made some money, but compared to W Group, it was a pittance. If Ulric appreciated his work even a little, he couldn’t imagine how much he could earn in the future.
“Thank you for the reminder, but I just want to earn some money peacefully. It’s too difficult to curry favor with the president.”
If possible, she just wanted to leave W Group.
“Then can you help me get in front of Mr. Walters?” Mr. Wong finally revealed his intention. “Don’t worry, if I make money, I won’t forget your help today!”
Rosalind could only smile and nod. “Okay, if there’s an opportunity.”
Seeing her response, Mr. Wong didn’t press further and patted her shoulder, signaling her to think it over.
Having gotten through the toughest part, Rosalind thought she could focus on reviewing project materials in the afternoon and hopefully go directly to the site tomorrow to avoid running into Ulric at the company.
However, just as she settled into her newly assigned office, Cedric came knocking.
“Miss Ruell! Mr. Walters wants you to go out with him at noon.”
Rosalind was taken aback and frowned immediately. “Why me?”
“Hmm?” Cedric looked equally surprised. “Didn’t Mr. Walters tell you that you’re handling this project? At noon, you’re meeting with the head of the partner company.”
“He did mention it, but why is he going too?” Rosalind reviewed the project and saw that its importance didn’t warrant Ulric’s involvement.
Cedric thought about it seriously and concluded, “Maybe Mr. Walters wants to.”
After all, he’s the president; he can do as he pleases. No one in this company dares to override him!
“He decided to acquire Eastsun Corporation on a whim and now insists on dragging me along for project discussions too? Cedric, that’s a flimsy excuse!” Who would believe that?
But Cedric could only helplessly spread his hands. “I’m just delivering orders! Why don’t you go ask him yourself in his office? I’m sure Mr. Walters would be happy to answer you.”
Rosalind had no choice but to stand up and walk over to Cedric with a troubled expression. “Cedric, I’ve divorced him; continuing this entanglement is bad for both of us! I know you hold some sway with Ulric; please persuade him for me!”
She felt that Ulric was simply seeking revenge like a childish kid! His tricks were quite childish.
But she didn’t want to play this game with him!
“If I could persuade him, things wouldn’t be like this after four years.” Cedric said seriously.
He had genuinely suspected Rosalind of being a bad person before and had sincerely advised his boss to give up on her.
But it was useless!
How many times had his boss muttered about giving up? Yet nothing changed!
