Rosalind felt like she was sitting on pins and needles at this moment!
Even breathing the air in W Group felt thrilling and dangerous.
“Hasn’t he already announced his marriage? How can Ulric do this to his wife?”
“Maybe you should ask Mr. Walters about that!”
How should he respond?
Mr. Walters had strictly forbidden any loose talk.
“Forget it, I won’t make it difficult for you.” Rosalind’s shoulders slumped, “Thank you, Cedric.”
“You’re welcome.” Cedric smiled, then glanced at his watch, “Mr. Walters will probably finish his meeting in about an hour. You can wait for him at his designated parking spot.”
“Just give me the address, I’ll go by myself!” She wanted to stay as far away from Ulric as possible.
“Oh Miss Ruell, what’s the point of struggling for a moment? Maybe Mr. Walters just wants to discuss work with you. If you keep refusing, it will only make things awkward for everyone. Or… do you have other thoughts?”
“…”
Cedric was about to leave but suddenly stopped at the door.
“By the way! There’s something else I don’t know if I should say.”
“Go ahead.”
“The last time at Easthaven Bay, what you told me, why don’t you try saying it to Mr. Walters? What if… he chooses you?”
Rosalind was stunned, her eyelashes lowered without saying a word.
Cedric sighed before leaving her office. After the door closed, Rosalind looked at it and softly spoke.
“What if he doesn’t choose me?”
She couldn’t gamble on Ulric choosing to find the real culprit and send his own mother to prison when faced with her.
Because if she were in Ulric’s position with Eva standing before her, she couldn’t do it either.
…
An hour later, Rosalind still went to the president’s designated parking spot.
Maybe Cedric was right; she needed to be more composed and treat Ulric as just a new boss from the bottom of her heart!
Then tonight she would go home and write her resignation letter, submit it tomorrow, and after another six months, she could leave W Group! After all, she couldn’t win against him and had to follow the rules.
While thinking about this, she heard footsteps behind her.
Her whole body tensed up involuntarily! It felt like being encased in plaster.
In contrast to her nervousness, Ulric maintained his presidential demeanor impeccably.
He walked over with long strides, his tall figure stopping before her. “Get in the car.”
“Oh, okay…”
Rosalind didn’t argue with him anymore; there was no point.
The car quickly drove off into complete silence. It was so quiet that Rosalind could count Ulric’s breaths.
Suddenly, he broke the silence first.
“Did you review the project materials?”
“Yes, but the time was too short to get a comprehensive understanding.”
“A brief overview is fine. Take them home tonight for a thorough read.”
Rosalind nodded and then glanced out of the car window. She realized that this road… led to Easthaven Bay!
“Aren’t we supposed to meet with the head of the partner company?”
Why were they heading to his home?
Ulric glanced at her through the rearview mirror and said warmly, “I need to go back to Easthaven Bay first to sort out my son’s lunch before meeting with them.”
“…”
His son?
He must be talking about Jake!
Rosalind immediately woke up to the fact that this was Ulric’s first test for her!
