Chapter 790: She Has the Original Photos

Callie stopped her, her raised chin revealing her pride.
“Who does Charlotte think she is to compete with me?” Marilyn fumed.
Callie raised an eyebrow. It seemed the relationship between the two sisters was not good, and Marilyn was still coveting the position of Mrs. Oconnor.
But she and Jaquan were not divorced.
“Isn’t it true?” Callie released her, giving her a once-over. “I didn’t understand before, until I saw Charlotte. She always wears a white dress, exuding a gentle temperament, just like you used to be, Marilyn. You’ve been imitating her all along, trying to please Nelson.”
Callie’s words hit the mark, causing Marilyn to frown with a hint of an unclear emotion. It was clear that Callie had struck a nerve.
“Maybe Maevelyn used to have that demeanor, so you imitated her. Perhaps you never expected Maevelyn to return one day, to come back to Nelson’s side and also take away Ahmad’s affection.”
“Marilyn, I think you’re really pathetic,” Callie said each word clearly.
The retort she couldn’t voice in the crowd was now fully unleashed in private, making her feel much better.
Marilyn examined Callie with a strange look from head to toe, then suddenly laughed, genuinely amused. “Callie, you’re too self-righteous.”
Callie frowned.
“Maybe until the day you disappear from Ylosea, you won’t understand what really happened.”
After speaking, Marilyn laughed even harder.
Feeling inexplicably uneasy, Callie broke into a cold sweat and was about to leave when she was suddenly called back.
“Callie, I know who the man in the photo is.”
Callie’s steps halted abruptly.
Marilyn walked up to her step by step, and they faced each other again. Callie slowly spoke, “It was you. You sent out the photos.”
Marilyn wore an expression of concealed merit and fame. “I couldn’t plan such a big operation alone, but I do have the original photos.”
“If I release these photos, what do you think Jaquan will do?”
She mentioned Jaquan’s name, which meant she really had the photos.
Callie’s fingers clenched tightly as she tried to calm herself down. “I think you should threaten Jaquan with this. After all, I’ve already lost my reputation. The public knowing who the male lead is won’t damage my name any further. But it’s different for you; you’ll have to endure gossip about your man’s infidelity, and Scott Group will collapse.”
“Yes, at that time the public will sympathize with me, Ellison family’s stock will rise, and even my parents will feel sorry for me. I might even get a divorce. As for Scott Group collapsing, what does that have to do with me? I still have Ellison family and fifteen percent of the shares. What happens to Jaquan has nothing to do with me.”
Marilyn spoke quickly, both within and beyond Callie’s expectations.
Yes, she was indeed such a selfish woman.
“By the way, there’s another benefit. If Scott Group collapses, Oconnor Group might turn the crisis into an opportunity.”
Marilyn’s many words didn’t move Callie, but this one sentence made her frown. “Are you going to release the photos?”
Marilyn pouted. “Depends on my mood. Maybe one day when I’m happy, I’ll release them.”
This feeling of having her fate controlled was unpleasant.
Callie believed she would do it, but she had promised Jaquan she would help him unconditionally once. So these photos could not be exposed.
