When Charlotte entered, she saw Marilyn’s face and lips flushed red.
Seeing the coffee spilled on the floor, she was startled, “Marilyn…”
Marilyn just shook her head and pulled Charlotte’s hand to lead her out.
Nelson closed his eyes and pressed the bell, “Come in and clean up.”
“What’s wrong?” Charlotte asked anxiously as they entered the elevator, holding Marilyn’s hand.
Marilyn stared at her intensely, trying to discern something. After a moment, she took out her phone and typed, “Nelson treats you well.”
Charlotte frowned, “He treats me… well, but only because of the past…”
-You really know how to capture a man’s heart.
Charlotte looked down without saying anything.
Marilyn sneered and continued typing: I used my voice to test his feelings for you. Are you satisfied? Being protected by him feels good, doesn’t it?
Charlotte shook her head vigorously, afraid of Marilyn’s anger.
“Going home?”
-To the hospital!
Marilyn was almost furious.

Spring had arrived, and the weather was warming up. Reuben couldn’t stay inside Paucaster Villa Complex any longer and kept insisting on going out for a walk.
Callie didn’t dare let him go too far, so she instructed the servants to take him for a walk nearby.
He was not happy, “Every day it’s just around here. I even know how many blades of grass are nearby. It’s boring.”
Callie was amused. She glanced at the unfinished drawings on her computer, “How about this? I’ll be free tomorrow and take you to see the sea, okay?”
Reuben pushed his luck, “Can’t we go today?”
“It’s too late, and it’s cold by the sea.”
Reuben had to sit down reluctantly, “Then you must take me tomorrow.”
Callie quickly agreed while typing on her keyboard, “Okay.”
At night, Nelson sent a message saying he had unfinished business and needed to stay at the office.
He even sent a video showing his empty office.
Callie didn’t require him to report everything, but she was happy to receive it.
She replied word by word: Mr. Oconnor feeling lonely? Need Mrs. Oconnor to accompany you? Press 1.
The reply came quickly: 1.
Callie laughed and sent a photo of herself working: Can only accompany you from afar.
She finished her work and went to sleep at dawn, waking up at one in the afternoon to the sound of her phone ringing.
It was Litzy: “Callie, remember I told you Oconnor Group is restructuring their design department? I saw Skye’s application.”
Callie was instantly alert. Skye, who had framed her multiple times, was still in Ylosea?
“She’s on Oconnor Group’s blacklist; she shouldn’t succeed.”
“Not necessarily. The personnel structure at Oconnor Group is complex and has probably changed. Plus, they’re setting up a separate construction company. Skye might slip through.”
Litzy warned: “Just a heads-up. Keep an eye out.”
Callie understood.
Unable to fall back asleep after being woken up, she rubbed her head and washed up before calling Nelson.
No answer.
She called again. This time it was answered halfway through by a woman’s voice, “Hello.”
Callie was taken aback, “Who are you?”
“Oh, I’m from Oconnor Group’s secretarial office. Mr. Oconnor is in a meeting.”
That made sense. Callie felt relieved, “Have him call me back when he’s done.”
“… Okay.”
Just then, Reuben knocked on the door, “Callie, do you know what time it is? Get up and take me to see the sea.”
