At that moment, there was a commotion outside. It was Grandpa’s voice, “Hurry up.”
Through the sheer curtain, two hurried figures could be seen. They passed by the room and pushed open the door next to it. Callie immediately understood and was a bit surprised, “How did you know…”
“Nelson doesn’t come here to talk easily, so it must be something important. And I happened to see you. Your appearance is far from simple.”
Mollie looked her up and down, having already judged the situation perfectly.
Callie laughed at herself, “Thanks.”
Mollie tilted her head, “I brought you here today because you need to meet a private client, and I had no idea Nelson was next door.”
She understood, “Yeah, you didn’t know.”
Mollie was satisfied and left. As she reached the door, Callie couldn’t help but ask, “Why are you helping me?”
They had met several times, and Mollie had helped her significantly each time. Mollie thought for a moment before answering, “Probably because our situations are too similar.”
The door closed. Callie waited a while before going out, quietly stopping outside Nelson’s door. She could vaguely see the shadows inside-about three people. Nelson and Grandpa were sitting on one side, and a very slender figure was seated in front of them. It was a woman.
A very young woman.
She raised her hand to make tea, her movements fluid and graceful.
The soundproofing was too good; Callie couldn’t hear what they were saying.
She could only see Grandpa holding the woman’s hand. In an instant, Callie understood most of it.
This woman must be Maevelyn.
In past stories, Grandpa was Maevelyn’s elder and had deep feelings for her. Now that she was back, it was natural for them to meet.
Callie lowered her eyes. Nelson had arranged everything well. It seemed that yesterday’s test results had confirmed she was Maevelyn; otherwise, he wouldn’t have brought Grandpa here so rashly.
Callie couldn’t hear what they were saying and gradually lost interest in their interaction.
She prepared to leave but accidentally knocked over a potted plant at the door in her distraction. She almost fell to the ground and made a noise in the process.
Although she quickly stopped herself, they still heard it inside.
Nelson stood up, “Who’s there?”
In a panic, Callie tried to find a place to hide. Just as she was about to enter the next room, a pair of hands covered her mouth from behind and dragged her away.
“Mmm…”
Nelson opened the door immediately but only saw the leaves of the potted plant shaking. There was no one else.
He frowned and pushed open the door to the next room, which wasn’t fully closed, and entered directly. He saw a familiar figure adjusting his clothes as he walked out.
Jaquan frowned innocently, “Nelson, what are you doing here?”
Nelson looked at him suspiciously. Jaquan’s disheveled appearance clearly indicated he had just done something. Ignoring him, Nelson tried to walk inside but was stopped by Jaquan.
“There’s a woman inside. It’s not appropriate for you to go in like this. Callie would be angry if she knew.” Jaquan laughed lightly, full of provocation and mockery.
“You seem very interested in having fun with women here.” Nelson’s expression remained unchanged.
“If both of us keep it a secret, who would know?” Jaquan replied calmly, not worried at all.
“What was that noise just now?”
“I didn’t hear anything,” Jaquan said with a look of sudden realization. “Maybe that girl was too loud with pleasure and startled you.”
