Jamir’s phone, placed on the edge of the bathtub, was still lit up with a message from Callie.
He hadn’t saved her contact with a name, just the location Ylosea. One glance, and he knew who it was from.
Regan, however, was confused by this unexpected message, with only a vague premonition. “Who is it?”
Jamir’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “Is there anyone else in this world worried about you?”
The role-playing as a psychologist ended. He had no interest in continuing the charade of saving her, revealing his true nature without mercy.
Regan could hardly breathe, realizing something with rapid breaths. “It’s… it’s Callie! You know Callie!”
In an instant, she recalled many things, like Callie’s strange behavior when she saw Jamir…
And how Jamir had advised her after Callie and Nelson had a fight, suggesting she stop Nelson from looking for Callie.
Jamir just stared at her.
“So… you stayed in Ylosea for Callie. You approached me for Callie…”
Regan suddenly glimpsed the purpose behind it all, feeling a chill down her spine. She began to tremble all over, unable to believe she had been caught in a trap from the start.
And she, this NPC, had foolishly fallen in love with the one who set the trap.
“Why…” Regan felt her actions were like a joke.
No wonder Jamir laughed.
He let go of her, pulling the trembling Regan into his arms, sighing. “I knew her before Nelson did. What, want to hear our story? It’s a very romantic one.”
Regan trembled even more.
Ylosea.
Nelson returned, and Callie had specifically asked Anthony for his flight information, waiting at the airport in advance.
When Nelson emerged from the exit and saw her figure, there was undeniable surprise in his eyes.
Callie saw him and happily rushed into his arms. He caught her and hugged her tightly, feeling a strong sense of belonging.
“Why are you here?”
“I told you, one day apart feels like three years.” Callie smiled up at him.
Nelson smiled, adjusting her mask. “Do you miss me or the shoes?”
Callie raised an eyebrow. “Did you bring the shoes back?”
His smile widened as he held her hand and they left the airport together. “Ylosea has that brand too. Why insist on buying it in Anbusea?”
“It’s different. When I was little, if Reuben went out for work, he would always bring me a small gift when he returned. It made me happy all day. When you bring me something from your trips, it makes me happy too.”
She wanted that sense of anticipation.
Nelson listened seriously and took note.
In the car, Callie eagerly tried on the shoes. They fit perfectly, with studs winding around her fair feet and tiny diamonds sparkling on the high heels.
She extended her long leg, sliding it over his lap in high heels. “I like them very much. Does Mr. Oconnor like them?”
Nelson’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He had to admit, Callie had very sexy feet.
Nelson rubbed his temples and said in a deep voice, “Callie, we’re in the car.”
Callie glanced at the soundproof glass. “They can’t hear us.”
She moved closer, pressing the heel against a certain part of him with some force. “Don’t you like it?”
Like it? How could he not? Nelson’s temple veins bulged as he suddenly pulled her into his arms. “Fairy!”
