Chapter 648: Meeting Again

“Who says otherwise? I heard Jamir is still unmarried, seems like he’s ambitious.”
Amidst the noisy crowd, Nelson frowned in disgust. “What’s the difference between this and a marketplace?”
Anthony couldn’t help but chuckle.
On stage, the event ended, and Jamir left under the guidance of the staff, the light playing across his profile.
Nelson suddenly asked, “He’s younger than me.”
Jamir was the same age as Callie. When they were in college, he had already returned to take over the Oconnor Group.
Anthony immediately replied, “Just a young wolf cub, can’t compare to you.”
“That bit of momentum when he confronted me, like a newborn calf unafraid of tigers, reminds me of myself back then.”
Anthony didn’t know how to respond.
After a while, Jamir disappeared from sight. Anthony asked, “Shall we keep browsing?”
Nelson took out his phone. Callie had sent a message, telling him she wanted the new high heels from Valentino.
Scrolling down, he saw her message: “They say Valentino understands men the best. I’ll look great in those shoes. Will Mr. Oconnor like them?”
The man smiled as he read. She always loved to tease him through the screen but would be a coward when faced him in reality.
Enchantress.
“Let’s go take a look.”
Outside the store, looking through the floor-to-ceiling windows, several socialites were trying on shoes inside, haughtily making things difficult for the sales clerk.
A slender woman was kneeling, helping one of them try on shoes. The customer seemed dissatisfied and suddenly screamed, “You hurt me!”
She kicked the clerk in the chest and then touched her ankle.
The clerk fell to the side, clearly in pain from the heel, but she said nothing and quickly returned to her position. “Sorry, it was my mistake. I’ll clean it up for you!”
“Clumsy! Can you even be a clerk? My feet are insured. Can you afford to compensate if they’re injured?”
The clerk lowered her head, seemingly at a loss for words.
“Call your manager. I need an explanation.”
“I’m really sorry, Miss. I…”
At this moment, the manager came out from the back and hurriedly apologized. “I’m the manager. We’re very sorry for our employee’s mistake. What would you like us to do?”
“Don’t you train your employees? Is this how you treat customers?” The woman was aggressive. “I’ll tell you what, I heard Jamir is at S&A today. If he gets disturbed by this, can your store continue to operate?”
The manager was sweating and tugged at the clerk. “What are you standing there for? Apologize quickly!”
This tug moved the clerk into a position where Nelson could see her face clearly. Just one glance made him frown.
He exchanged a look with Anthony, who panicked and said immediately, “I didn’t know it would be such a coincidence…”
It was Charlotte.
She kept bowing and apologizing to the customer, tears welling up but held back, looking truly pitiful.
Nelson tugged at his tie, feeling irritated. “You go handle it.”
Leaving S&A, Nelson got into the car and replied to Callie’s message: I prefer you without them.
In the meantime, Anthony entered the store. “Making things difficult for a clerk won’t win Jamir’s favor.”
The woman blushed and left with her friends. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
Charlotte recognized Anthony and was momentarily surprised.
