Chapter 597 Misunderstanding

“Who else knew about that matter during my days in Afupshire?”
In the silent corridor, the man stood still, the air filled with floating dust. His profile was shrouded in obscurity, and Anthony clearly saw a long-lost murderous intent in him.
Anthony reacted quickly, “No one else but me.”
Nelson understood, “Bring Charlotte to me.”
“Yes.”
It was difficult to take away an assistant with a certain status, but Anthony had his ways, especially since Corey feared Nelson.
The Azure Ocean Villa had not been inhabited for a long time, but there wasn’t a speck of dust. The servants kept it very clean.
Nelson stood in the study, quietly scrutinizing the items on the bookshelf. Ever since Callie knew Marilyn had been here, she never mentioned coming again. She didn’t come, so he didn’t want to either.
Today was a rare exception.
Charlotte wasn’t wearing a cheongsam today, just a simple white dress. She was naturally gentle and intellectual, making her look even more charming.
“Mr. Oconnor, you wanted to see me.”
Nelson turned around and paused slightly when he saw her dress. He didn’t speak, just gestured to Anthony behind her. Anthony handed over a phone at the right moment.
It was the communication device taken from Charlotte before she entered.
Nelson took it without looking up, “Password.”
Charlotte frowned, “Mr. Oconnor, did you call me here just to check my phone? Do you have this hobby?”
“Password,” he repeated.
His calm demeanor carried an inherent authority that was even more oppressive.
“0418,” Charlotte took a deep breath and answered.
Nelson’s frown deepened at the number. He unlocked the phone and went straight to her contacts, which were very clean.
“Working for Corey with just these few numbers in your phone doesn’t seem realistic.”
Charlotte pursed her lips stubbornly, “Corey is very cautious. He prepared a work phone for me that I couldn’t bring out.”
In other words, this was her personal phone.
Nelson couldn’t find what he was looking for and tossed the phone onto the table. “You sent the surveillance video to Callie.”
Charlotte was stunned, “What video? I didn’t.”
Her expression was bewildered as if she really didn’t know.
Nelson stared at her.
Charlotte became anxious, “I really didn’t.”
He threw a document on the ground at her feet. “You have no parents, a clean background. You finished college with social assistance. It’s not easy for someone like you to get involved in Ylosea’s circle. Who’s instructing you?”
Nelson’s few words clearly outlined Charlotte’s background, sending chills down one’s spine.
Charlotte endured the humiliation and straightened her back. “Being instructed requires a reason, but I have no family or weaknesses. Mr. Oconnor, you’re overthinking. I’m just an ordinary person.”
She had the courage and wasn’t completely afraid of Nelson.
“You won’t talk?”
“I really have no one to tell you about, Mr. Oconnor. You misunderstand me.”
Nelson then stood up, “Come with me.”
Charlotte hesitated for a moment but followed him. It was drizzling outside, cool and refreshing. Anthony held an umbrella for Nelson while Charlotte followed behind, speaking anxiously.
“Mr. Oconnor, did Mrs. Oconnor find out about that matter?”
“It wasn’t me. I’ve never had any interaction with her.”
