Chapter 513: My Words Are Evidence

She was a fiery, hot-tempered girl by nature. So, when she saw her friend being bullied, her first thought was to stand up for her. There was no way she would let that guy get away with his misdeeds and still sleep soundly at night.
She went straight to the school authorities. But to her shock, when she reported the incident to the principal, the response was disbelief. The principal insisted that Mr. Edd had an exemplary character and was an outstanding teacher who could never do such a thing.
Not only did the principal dismiss her claims, but she also scolded Leah, accusing her of lying and making baseless allegations.
Leah wanted to present the evidence she had on her phone, only to discover that the incriminating message had already been deleted.
In the principal’s office, Leah argued for a long time, but it was useless. The principal remained stern, adamantly refusing to believe that Mr. Edd could do anything wrong. She even warned Leah not to spread such accusations, threatening that if the school’s reputation was tarnished, Leah would face consequences.
Leah was both speechless and furious.
She approached other school leaders, but as soon as they heard it was about that teacher, none of them believed her. They all echoed the same sentiment-that Mr. Edd was a man of good conduct-and even reprimanded Leah for bringing it up.
Though Leah was usually bold, being treated this way in a completely unfamiliar place left her feeling utterly defeated.
When Leah went back, she received a phone call from that very teacher. To her disgust, Mr. Edd had the audacity to laugh and tell her that reporting him was useless. He claimed no one would care and even threatened to release a video of her friend online if she didn’t behave.
For the first time in her life, Leah encountered something so vile. She immediately resolved to take that teacher down and fight for her friend’s justice.
But days passed, and she made no progress. On the contrary, she was further intimidated and warned by the school authorities.
For the first time, she felt the weight of the darkness in society.
The worst blow came when she received news that her friend had fallen into depression. The cause was clear-her friend had been relentlessly harassed by that teacher.
Leah cried-not because of the bullying, but out of helplessness. The more she thought about it, the more wronged and powerless she felt. That’s why she found herself crying alone on the school field.
As she wept, she thought of the one person who might be able to help-Kayden. She called him.
After hearing Leah’s story, Kayden didn’t respond immediately. Audrey was the first to speak.
“Are you serious? Did Mr. Edd really do that to you and your friend?” Audrey’s face showed shock and disbelief.
After all, Mr. Edd had always seemed polite and approachable. Audrey had interacted with him a few times herself and had never seen any sign of such behavior.
Leah, with tears streaming down her face, looked up and said bitterly, “Of course it’s true! Do you think I’d joke about something like this?”
Audrey blinked and said, “Mr. Edd really seemed like a decent teacher. I never would’ve guessed he had such a dark side. It just goes to show you can never truly know someone. What a wolf in sheep’s clothing!”
She folded her arms, thought for a moment, and then asked, “Do you have any evidence? If you do, we can take him down. Don’t worry, I’ll help you fight this.”
Audrey, a girl with a strong sense of justice, didn’t hesitate to offer her help.
Leah shook her head. “No. He’s smart. He never leaves any evidence behind.”
Leah was young and inexperienced. She hadn’t thought to protect herself by recording audio or saving videos, which only made things harder now.
Audrey thought for a few seconds and said, “Teachers like him, especially special hires, are often shielded by the system. Without evidence, it’s going to be tough to do anything based on just your word. But if he’s done something so vile, he’ll pay for it eventually. How about this-call him later and arrange to meet him. We’ll set a trap and catch him red-handed. With solid evidence, we can take him down.”
Audrey had originally come to ruin Kayden’s plans, but after hearing about such an infuriating situation, she couldn’t help but get angry.
As Audrey contemplated her plan, Kayden finally spoke.
“You’re an idiot,” he said coldly. “Why bother with something so complicated to deal with trash like him?”
Kayden didn’t care about evidence. If someone dared to harm his sister-in-law, especially a so-called special-hire professor, he wouldn’t let it slide. Who knew how many other girls this scumbag had hurt? If Kayden came across him, there was no way he’d let him go.
Who was Kayden?
He was the commander who upheld peace in Seclela, the protector of his people.
Now that someone had dared to cross him, he didn’t care who they were. He’d deal with them directly. No hesitation. No mercy.
If trash like this showed up, he’d get rid of them one by one.
“What are you planning to do?” Audrey asked, confused.
Kayden sneered. “You might have some influence, but don’t think this is as simple as you imagine. If you go too far, people will come after you-”
“Enough!” Kayden cut her off. “Take me to him now. Don’t waste my time.”
He grabbed Leah’s hand and started walking toward the teaching building.
Leah followed behind, her heart pounding. Sure enough, Kayden was the one she could rely on.
“Hey!” Audrey hurried after them. “What are you going to do? This isn’t as simple as you think. This is a society that values evidence. You’re being reckless!”
Kayden suddenly stopped and turned to stare Audrey in the eye.
“You can stay here. Don’t follow me. I don’t need your help, and I didn’t ask for it. Also, I’m your enemy. I don’t need anything from you.”
His words hit Audrey like a slap, leaving her standing frozen in place.
Kayden continued, “And one more thing-I don’t need evidence. My words are evidence.”
With that, he turned and walked decisively toward the teaching building.
Watching him leave, Audrey pouted and muttered, “Fine! Don’t think I’m helping you, you lunatic. You’re my brother’s killer. Why would I help you? Don’t flatter yourself!”
Trailing behind Kayden, Leah’s heart raced as she asked nervously, “Kayden, what are you going to do?”
Kayden didn’t mince words. “It’s simple. When I see him, I’ll kill him.”
