Chapter 425: Disdain

Book:Back To Thrones Published:2025-2-7

Looking at the tearful Mona, Kayden raised his hand to hold hers and said with a calm and confident expression, “Don’t worry, ma’am. You’ll be fine! It’s just a surgery and Felicity will regain her confidence soon.”
“I can get rid of the birthmark on her face. Don’t worry!”
Mona looks at Kayden in a bit of disbelief. He could help with the birthmark on Felicity’s face.
Mona couldn’t believe it.
That scar was from birth. Even the doctors couldn’t do anything about it. They didn’t even dare to schedule a surgery, how could he possibly get rid of it?
It was probably just a comforting phrase.
Mona was about to say something else when several people came to the door.
They seemed to come from next door. A couple of young men pushed a wheelchair in, and an old man with gray hair was sitting in the wheelchair, looking bleary-eyed and long-sick.
The young men looked to be in their forties, and each one of them was dressed decently. They seemed rich.
After they got the old man in the hospital bed, a chubby man looked at Kayden. He wore glasses and looked like an official.
After looking around, he asked the busy nurse, “Didn’t I tell you to arrange an empty room? Why is someone here?”
A middle-aged woman in her forties walked up and said in an unfriendly tone, “Yeah, and country bumpkins! What’s wrong with you?”
The woman looked noble in a tailored dress. She had a short haircut and looked like the queen of the business world.
She was the desire of many men because getting her would give a sense of conquer.
The nurse hurriedly explained, “Oh, here’s the thing. The rooms are tight, we can only arrange it this way for the time being! When there’s a vacant room, I will immediately arrange it for Mr. Bolton.”
The middle-aged man wearing glasses said unhappily, “No way! You have to get them out now!”
The woman said with extreme disdain, “Do you know who my father is? He’s the former president of the court, and now he is weak. If he catches any infectious diseases, can you afford the consequences?”
As she spoke, she pinched her nose and looked at Mona and Kayden with disgust.
The nurse had been in such a situation and the two’s words scared her pale.
She stammered and was unsure of what to do. She could only stand uneasily.
The woman looked at Kayden and Mona with contempt, then sneered and said to the old man who was in the wheelchair and was terminally ill, “Dad, don’t worry. We will definitely cure you no matter how much it costs.”
When she finished speaking, she realized that the nurse was still standing there.
So she hurriedly urged, “Hey, what are you waiting for? Kick them out!”
The nurse looked at Kayden and Mona.
Just then, Felicity came running through the door, and she gleefully said, “Mom, the doctor said the surgery will be this afternoon!”
When she saw someone else in the room, she hesitated for a moment, and the smile on her face was replaced by surprise. Her first reaction was to cover her face when everyone looked over.
“Ah!” The woman suddenly exclaimed and said in fear, “Is that a human or a freak?”
The woman hid behind the man, her face full of fear.
The man was calm, he frowned slightly and said, “She’s human!”
The woman swallowed and patted her chest, recovering from the fright and reprimanding the nurse, “Is this how you treat your patients? Arranging for us to stay in the same ward with a freak? That thing could have scared my father to death!”
Felicity had been self-conscious, and when this woman said that, she became even more so.
She lowered her head and said to the woman, “Sorry! Don’t worry, I will be careful.”
With those words, she silently made her way over to Kayden.
Felicity had long been used to such cold sarcasm so she didn’t feel too offended.
Only that little bit of confidence that Kayden had just inspired out of her was gone.
How could she be referred to as a freak?
She knew she was hideous.
“Disgusting!” The woman said with a face full of contempt, “Now! Get them out! I don’t want to see them for even one more moment! Seeing them here gives me goosebumps.”
Hearing this, Felicity’s eyes naturally went to Kayden, “Kayden, why don’t we just move back?”
Felicity had compromised frequently when things got tough.
Kayden’s face softened as he raised his hand to grab hers and said in a kind manner, “How can we possibly move back? If anyone should move, it should be them. After all, we were here first.”
“First come, first served.”
Felicity’s heart was in her throat when she heard this.
The middle-aged man looked rich and powerful, and he must be a big shot. The woman beside him also looked like a noblewoman.
How could Felicity afford to mess with them?
Even though Kayden could fight, he could only deal with punks. Fighting was hardly a way to solve things when it came to dealing with powerful people.
“Kayden!” said Felicity, clutching Kayden’s hand with nervousness.
Kayden soothed her, “It’s okay. Since they don’t know the rules, they should be taught!”
Kayden’s voice was so loud that everyone in the room heard it.
That middle-aged man raised his hand to prop up his glasses and asked with a look of contempt, “Young man, what do you mean by that? You want us to leave?”
Without thinking, Kayden admitted, “Yes, you have to leave, and not only do you have to leave, but you have to apologize to my friend!”
