The middle-aged man laughed, his eyes sizing Kayden up and down, and he said, “Young man, you have some guts!”
He assumed the posture of an elder.
The woman took a step forward and said, “What’s the point of talking with them? Country bumpkins can’t be reasoned with.”
Kayden sneered, “What’s wrong with being from the country? We are not to be disrespected.”
Kayden said, word for word.
These people thought they could have whatever they wanted in the hospital.
They thought they owned the place and could have anyone leave as they wanted.
Kayden wouldn’t condone the existence of such behavior.
It’s asking him, Kayden, to make way for someone else!
He would never move an inch when it came to his rights.
If he did, it would be a humiliation to the whole country!
Not compromising was a habit he had developed on the Battlefield and his way of doing things.
These people, who should feel lucky to be able to stay in the same room with him, are so arrogant! Who do they think they are?
The middle-aged man sneered, and after looking at Kayden wistfully, he said, “Good! You have some nerve! However, you will regret your ignorance!”
Kayden said, “That’s what I was going to tell you!”
Ignorance!?
The middle-aged man in front of him was the one who was really ignorant!
The woman couldn’t tolerate it any longer, so she hurriedly said to the middle-aged man, “Don’t waste time with him. Just call the management. These country bumpkins are not to reason with.”
The middle-aged man agreed, so he smirked and said, “I’m not going to waste my time with you hicks.”
“Nurse, call the doctor. Tell him Mr. Bolton wants to see him.”
The nurse was stunned at his words, and then she hurriedly walked out.
The middle-aged man raised his hand to prop up his glasses and didn’t speak again.
He just looked at the old man and asked a few questions.
While the woman pinched her nose, raised her hand, fanned it back and forth, and said with a face full of contempt, “Disgusting smell! I can’t even stand being in the same room for five minutes with them.”
Seeing this, Felicity looked at the clothes she was wearing even more uncomfortably.
She always made sure her clothes were all cleanly washed. Although a little worn, they were clean.
In her heart, however, she knew that what these people were disgusted with was not her smell, but her status.
Kayden witnessed everything and pondered that this was perhaps a social phenomenon.
Rich people always think they are superior.
Just then, Mona, who was lying on the bed, said weakly, “Felicity, let’s just leave! I like where I stayed. I told you we shouldn’t come, but you insisted on coming over.”
A quiet and comfortable environment is important for recovery. And Mona said that only out of fear and worry.
Before Felicity could say anything, Kayden soothed her, “Just focus on your recovery, Mrs. Mallory. Leave this to me.”
Mona frowned and tried to say something, but stopped on second thought.
Felicity looked over at her mom. She was uncertain as well, but she was willing to trust the man in front of her.
This man had shown her a miracle by taking back the hundred thousand dollars that she simply couldn’t get back, so she was certainly willing to believe in him.
After a few minutes had passed, a white-coated doctor in his thirties walked in.
The doctor looked much younger than his age though, with tender skin.
Walking into the room, he said with a flattering face, “Mr. Bolton! It’s my honor to meet you here.”
The man who was called Mr. Bolton was naturally the man with the glasses. He was the vice-president of Vernon Court and his name was Colin Bolton.
He looked at the respectful doctor with contempt and asked, “Dr. Price, Didn’t I tell you to get my father a separate ward? What’s happening here?”
Allen Price was Mona’s attending doctor. He was usually unfriendly to even his patients.
Take a few days ago, when Felicity’s mom came to the inpatient department on the same day a good-looking girl registered.
He was supposed to hospitalize Mona first, but he thought Felicity was ugly, so he moved the pretty girl first, offering his kindness.
Several more people came in later and were hospitalized one by one, all, except Felicity’s mom.
It was only at the end of the day, after Mona and Felicity had waited a full three hours, that Mona was checked in.
Even then, Allen had a bad attitude. When Felicity wanted to ask about her mother’s condition, he refused to answer and didn’t want to talk to her at all.
That was secondary to the fact that he’d almost kicked Mona out when she hadn’t had the money to pay her medical bill. If Felicity hadn’t gotten the money in time, she and her mom might have been kicked out already.
So, at the sight of Allen, Felicity knew it was bad.
“Oh!” Allen said, “You said you’d be here tomorrow, so I thought you wouldn’t need it until tomorrow. That’s why I put them here first. Mr. Bolton, I’m really sorry!”
“Alright, don’t waste our time!” The woman raised her hand and fanned it around her nose, urging, “Hurry up and get them out of here. I don’t want to stay here with these people for a second more!”
She pointed to Felicity and said, “Look at that freak. Do you want to scare my father with her?”
Allen’s eyes caught Felicity, and his brow furrowed at the sight of her.
“Sorry about that, Miss Bolton!”
“Just hurry up and solve this! Otherwise, you should know the consequences.” The woman threatened.
“Yes, of course. I’ll solve it right away!” Allen looked loyal to their needs.
A total ass-sucker.
“Wait!” Colin asked in a stern voice as he thought of something, “When are you going to schedule my father’ surgery?”
Allen thought for a moment, nodded, and said, “This afternoon. I have only one surgery to do this afternoon and it was for this woman here. I’ll put off her surgery and arrange it for your father, Mr. Bolton. How does that sound?”
He said that to Mona’s face!
Allen had absolutely no medical ethics!
