Chapter 1845: Wolf Meat Medicinal Feast

Amber Watts didn’t know how to comfort Arthur for a moment.
Arthur sighed heavily and said, “Amber, now I finally understand what it means to be in a family and not have control over your own life. Let’s drag it out for now. If it really doesn’t work, I’ll just have to close my eyes and go along with that fierce woman…”
Amber Watts sighed slightly, her expression becoming somewhat serious. As someone from a large family herself, she could understand Arthur’s predicament.
Sometimes, for the future of the family, sacrifices had to be made.
If the Watts family wasn’t being suppressed by the other two major families, his second uncle wouldn’t have forced his younger brother to sacrifice his dignity.
“Amber, as long as my father can break through to Spirit Saint within a month, our Watts family won’t need to marry into the Everlasting Trade Association,” Arthur suddenly thought of this and said.
Amber Watts shook her head with a bitter smile. “Breaking through to Spirit Saint within a month is easier said than done.”
“With Leo here, it’s possible,” Arthur looked at Leo with anticipation.
Noticing the rare expression on Arthur’s face, Amber Watts turned her gaze to Leo and said in a doubtful tone, “Him?”
Amber Watts’s first impression of Leo wasn’t good because he had been staring at her earlier, making her unconsciously categorize him as one of those men who lusted after her beauty.
Arthur said seriously, “Amber, Leo is very powerful.”
Amber Watts couldn’t sense any strong aura from Leo and casually asked, “Which sect do you belong to?”
“No sect. I’m a rogue cultivator,” Leo replied calmly.
Amber Watts nodded slightly, losing interest in continuing the conversation.
In Amber Watts’s view, no matter how powerful a rogue cultivator was, he couldn’t be that impressive.
Then Amber Watts’s gaze suddenly shifted to Lyric’s dark hair.
“Lyric, where did you get that jade hairpin?” Amber Watts raised her eyebrows.
Lyric took off the jade hairpin and handed it to Amber Watts with a smile. “Sister Amber, this jade hairpin was given to me by Leo. Isn’t it beautiful?”
Amber Watts took the hairpin and scanned it with her spiritual sense, her eyes narrowing.
It was actually a high-grade spiritual weapon!
“You silly girl, how could you accept such an expensive gift from someone you just met?” Amber Watts’s tone carried some reprimand and dissatisfaction.
Hearing Amber say this, Lyric’s beautiful eyes instantly filled with tears. She pouted and twisted her fingers in her clothes, feeling aggrieved.
“Amber, Leo is not an outsider. I told Lyric to accept it,” Arthur quickly said.
“Not an outsider? Have you known him for a long time?” Amber Watts’s tone was icy.
“Well… Amber, I haven’t known Leo for long, but I…” Arthur didn’t know what to say for a moment.
Leo couldn’t listen anymore. He frowned and said, “Miss Watts, I saw the little girl was cute and gave her a jade hairpin as a meeting gift. Is it worth making such a fuss over?”
“You…!” Amber Watts had never encountered a stranger who dared to speak to her in such a tone. Her pretty face turned icy cold.
Leo didn’t bother with self-righteous and arrogant beauties. He extended his right hand, used the art of controlling objects, and retrieved the jade hairpin from Amber Watts’s hand.
Then Leo handed the hairpin back to Lyric with a smile. “Little girl, just wear what I give you. This jade hairpin not only protects you but also has beauty-enhancing effects.”
After Lyric took the hairpin, Leo looked at Arthur and said, “Arthur, let’s go.”
He turned and left without looking at Amber Watts again.
Leo’s attitude made Amber Watts’s eyes flash with cold light, her pretty face almost freezing over.
Sensing that his sister was on the verge of losing control, Arthur quickly said, “Sis, I’ll go with Leo now.”
He hurriedly chased after Leo.
Lyric also noticed something wrong with her sister’s expression. She blinked and said, “Sis, I can tell that Leo is a good person…”
“A good person!?” Lyric’s words were cut off. “Little girl, what do you know about good people or bad people? You can’t judge a book by its cover. Don’t accept things from others so easily in the future!”
Leo and Arthur turned a corner and disappeared from Amber and Lyric’s sight.
“Leo, in my memory, no young man has ever dared to speak to Amber like that. You’re the first!” Arthur showed an admiring expression.
Arthur had only seen various sycophants trying to get close to Amber before.
Arthur’s words left Leo speechless. He simply shook his head and smiled without saying anything.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the back garden of the Watts Mansion.
The garden was lush with tall trees and had several independent houses with small gardens, making it very peaceful and quiet.
Various spirit flowers and spirit grass were planted here, occasionally emitting a faint fragrance.
Arthur led Leo to one of the small courtyards and said, “Leo, you can stay here. I live next door.”
Leo nodded. “The environment is nice. Thank you for your hospitality.”
“No need for formalities between us. Are you hungry? How about we eat first?” Arthur patted his round belly with a smile.
Leo thought for a moment and asked, “Arthur, can you find a grill and a pot? I want to make a Medicinal Feast. Also, call Lyric over.”
Hearing the words “Medicinal Feast,” Arthur’s eyes lit up. “Are you planning to use wolf king meat for the Medicinal Feast?”
“Yes,” Leo nodded.
That night, a crescent moon hung high in the sky.
The cool moonlight fell down, making the quiet lake look like it was covered with a thin layer of silver gauze.
By the lake, a bonfire was lit.
A large grill held a big wolf leg over the fire.
The wolf leg was roasted to a golden yellow color, glistening with oil. The golden oil dripped down occasionally, making sizzling sounds in the fire.
The wolf leg had some Spirit Herb mixed in where it was sliced.
The aroma of roasted meat spread out, so enticing that it could be smelled even from across the lake.
Next to the bonfire roasting the wolf leg was a large copper pot boiling over a fire. The sound of bubbling soup came from within.
The copper pot also contained a wolf leg stewed with Spirit Fruit and Spirit Herb. The aroma from the soup was just as enticing as the roasted meat.
The fragrance alone was enough to make anyone drool.
