The Wolf King summoned the last of his strength, unleashing bolts of lightning at Lucas Collins. The life-and-death struggle resumed in mid-air. Soon, more blood streaks appeared on the Wolf King’s massive body, the deadly poison further ravaging his system.
Although Lucas Collins was also struck by the lightning, he only suffered minor injuries, faring much better than the Wolf King. Just as Lucas Collins was about to gather his power for a final blow to kill the Wolf King, a scream erupted from the ground below.
“Father, save me, save me!!”
The scream naturally came from George Collins. Lucas Collins had only one precious son, George Collins. Hearing his son’s cry for help, he quickly looked down.
Not far below, a three-legged Stormfire Wolf had bitten George Collins on the buttocks. Amid George Collins’ screams, the Stormfire Wolf tore off half of his buttocks. Blood poured out, and George Collins nearly fainted from the pain. However, driven by the fear of death, he managed to get up and continued to flee, crawling and rolling.
The Stormfire Wolf swallowed the piece of flesh and continued its pursuit. “Beast, how dare you harm my son!!” Lucas Collins roared from the sky, his eyes turning blood-red.
Lucas Collins struck from afar with a massive palm imprint filled with rage, crushing the three-legged Stormfire Wolf into a bloody mist. Seeing his subordinate killed by Lucas Collins, the Wolf King roared repeatedly. A flash of insight crossed his mind as he focused on George Collins.
In a moment of madness, the Wolf King’s intelligence peaked. “Wolves, hear my command! Stop attacking other Cultivators and hunt down that boy with half a butt!” The Wolf King ordered all the Stormfire Wolves on the ground.
The Stormfire Wolves obeyed the Wolf King without question. Upon hearing the command, they ceased their attacks and turned their attention to the bloodied George Collins. The ground seemed to tremble as all the Stormfire Wolves charged at him.
“Leo, this time George Collins is doomed,” Arthur Watts said with a grim smile as he glanced at George Collins in the distance.
Hearing the Wolf King’s order and seeing all the wolves charging at him, George Collins wet himself in fear. “Lord George!” Elder Archie and Elder Noah unleashed all their spiritual power and rushed toward George Collins.
However, given their strength, it was impossible for them to protect George Collins against hundreds of Stormfire Wolves. In the sky, Lucas Collins went berserk, wildly swinging his Windspirit Blade. Blades of green light descended from above, killing over a dozen Stormfire Wolves near George Collins.
Seizing this opportunity, the Wolf King’s eyes flashed with bloodlust. Ignoring the damage to his own foundation, he spat out a Thunder Pillar aimed at Lucas Collins. Lucas Collins couldn’t let the Thunder Pillar hit him and had to use his Windspirit Blade to block it. This left him unable to protect George Collins.
In this dilemma, Lucas Collins couldn’t let his only son die. Although Cultivators lived longer than ordinary people, they had much more difficulty reproducing. Most Cultivators could only have one or two children in their lifetime.
While holding off the Wolf King’s attack with one hand, Lucas Collins roared at the Cultivators below, “Protect my son! If he dies, I’ll bury all of you with him!”
The people in the valley turned pale at Lucas Collins’ furious roar. “Anyone who doesn’t protect my son will be killed by me once I slay the Wolf King!” Lucas Collins threatened coldly when he saw no one moving.
“Everyone, protect Lord George!” Elder Archie shouted while continuing to kill Stormfire Wolves. Elder Archie knew Lucas Collins well; if George Collins died, Lucas Collins would indeed go mad and kill everyone there.
“Those who don’t want to die, follow me to protect Lord George!” Elder Noah also shouted, killing several Stormfire Wolves with a single palm strike.
“Protect Lord George!” Although reluctant, the Cultivators echoed in agreement. It was clear that the Wolf King wouldn’t last much longer; Lucas Collins slaying him was only a matter of time. If George Collins died by then, they could indeed be killed by an enraged Lucas Collins.
Understanding this logic, the Cultivators channeled their spiritual power and rushed toward George Collins while killing any Stormfire Wolves in their way. In the valley, blood mist rose as Stormfire Wolves and Cultivators engaged in a brutal fight once more. Many Stormfire Wolves were slain, but many Cultivators also fell.
Only two people didn’t go to rescue George Collins: Leo and Arthur Watts. “Leo, we…” Arthur Watts withdrew his gaze from the bloody scene ahead and looked at Leo.
“Reaping what you sow,” Leo said calmly.
Arthur Watts hesitated before saying, “Leo, once Lucas Collins kills the Wolf King, our situation will become dangerous. Shouldn’t we leave now?”
“We haven’t obtained the Thunderfruit yet; leaving empty-handed is not an option,” Leo shook his head. Leo’s cultivation had reached the peak of Upper Spirit King. With the Thunderfruit and other spiritual herbs to make an Ascension Pill, he could break through to Spirit Saint.
Arthur Watts’ eyes lit up at Leo’s words. “Leo, why don’t we take advantage of their chaos to pick the Thunderfruit and leave?”
Leo thought Arthur Watts’ intelligence seemed to have dropped and firmly rejected the idea. “If we go for the Thunderfruit now, we’ll draw their attention. Both Stormfire Wolves and Cultivators will attack us.”
“We’ll act when they’re both exhausted after the battle!”
Lucas Collins came to Thunder Valley for the Thunderfruit. If anyone tried to take it now, he would abandon fighting the Wolf King and come after them. The other Cultivators wouldn’t stand idly by either; they wouldn’t let Leo and Arthur Watts take it without a fight.
Moreover, the Thunderfruit was crucial for Stormfire Wolves too; it helped them enhance their cultivation. If it were taken away, they would target Leo and Arthur Watts instead.
The bloody battle continued unabated. Besides the howls of Stormfire Wolves were the screams of Cultivators.
