Tom turned to look at him and couldn’t help but smile. He put his hands in his pockets, exuding grace and elegance.
A servant helped with the luggage, “Young Master, Jeffery,” and greeted them politely.
Jeffery followed Tom, and they both walked towards the living room.
“Agnes, Grandma dreamed about you last night! Can you guess what it was?” The old lady’s voice was not loud, but she was very excited.
The girl thought for a moment, walking with her grandmother, then turned to ask, “What was it?”
“Grandma dreamed that you married Tom and had a pair of beautiful twins!” The old lady was overjoyed. “They inherited all your best genes.”
The girl’s cheeks flushed red, and she didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
Tom watched the two figures ahead and couldn’t help but sigh, “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Grandma so happy. She really likes Agnes.”
Tom smiled gently, his gaze soft.
“Bubu, when do you plan to get married?” As they entered the living room, Grandma held the girl’s hand tightly and asked expectantly, “Are you planning to get married this time back?”
“Grandma, I…”
“Bubu, what kind of wedding do you like? You can tell Grandma anything!” The old lady patted the girl’s hand lovingly. “Do you prefer a traditional wedding or a Western-style wedding? Do you want to buy a new house? Would you feel uncomfortable living with us elders? What are your plans after marriage? Feel free to speak your mind; Grandma supports you!”
Before the girl could answer, the old lady continued happily, “If you want to buy a new house, Grandma fully supports it! You can live anywhere! If we miss you, we’ll come visit! We’ll give you young people space!”
These sensitive questions came at Agnes one after another, leaving her a bit at a loss because she wasn’t prepared for marriage at all.
Tom and Jeffery, who were following behind them into the house, also vaguely heard Grandma’s questions.
After entering the house, Jane greeted them cheerfully, “You’re all back! How wonderful!”
“Mrs. Fritz,” Agnes smiled and greeted her.
“Why are you calling me Mrs. Fritz again?” Jane quickly came up to her with a beaming smile and reminded her, “It’s only been a few days since we last saw each other? Have you forgotten how to address me? Call me properly!”
“Mom,” the girl said softly. She always felt a bit shy in front of Tom.
Hearing her call her mom made Jane particularly happy. Tom and Jeffery also greeted her while the servants took care of the luggage.
Grandma then asked directly in front of everyone, “Tom, Agnes, since you’re both back in the country now, when do you plan to get married?”
The girl was slightly stunned. She looked at Grandma and then turned her gaze to the man standing beside her.
Tom’s expression was gentle as he smiled at the girl he loved and almost blurted out, “That depends on Agnes. If she says tomorrow, I won’t delay until the day after.”
The girl’s eyes widened in surprise!
What did he mean by that?
Looking at her opinion?? Not even being subtle about it? Directly putting the answer on her? How was she supposed to respond? Tomorrow?? Girls are supposed to be reserved!
Sure enough, Jane, Grandma, Jeffery, and several servants all looked at the girl with smiling eyes.
Including Tom Fritz himself; he also looked at her. Everyone was waiting for Agnes’s answer.
