The atmosphere at lunch was light and pleasant. While waiting for the food to arrive, Tom handed his phone to her to show some photos. “Even though these were taken with a phone, the resolution is quite high,” the girl sitting across from him said as she flipped through the pictures, a sweet smile on her face, clearly pleased with what she saw.
Tom took a sip of lemon water and smiled slightly. “Can’t you also compliment the photographer’s skills?”
The girl holding the phone looked up and blurted out, “Your skills are amazing; they don’t need my praise!” Her eyes sparkled with laughter.
“It’s been a long time since anyone complimented me,” Tom said with a gentle smile, exuding charm.
“Ah-hem!” Agnes suddenly straightened up and looked at him seriously. “Then Professor Fritz, listen carefully. I’m going to start praising you now!”
“Alright.” Tom seemed interested and also straightened up. “I’m all ears.”
Looking into his deep and gentle eyes, Agnes felt her heart begin to race again. Her cheeks grew warm and probably started to blush. This damned feeling of excitement-why couldn’t she control it?
She didn’t want to lose composure in front of him, but she also didn’t want to hide her affection anymore. She loved him; there was nothing wrong with that.
“Just a few words,” Agnes said as her thick eyelashes fluttered and her pink lips parted slightly. “A gentleman as gentle as jade.”
“…”
“…”
After about 30 seconds of eye contact, he asked her, “Is that all?”
“Yes,” she nodded. “That’s all.”
Tom had expected her to say much more since this little girl loved him so much. But hearing those few words made him feel quite good. His voice was as warm as spring. “Is that your impression of me?”
Yes, that was why she was so infatuated with him. She loved the aura he exuded.
In Agnes’s eyes, Tom was indeed different from other men.
Soon, the waiter began serving food. The girl returned his phone and then happily started eating.
Tom pointed out which dishes were the best and talked about the culinary delights he knew of. She felt she was getting to know him more and more; his knowledge seemed to span various fields, like an encyclopedia, making her admiration for him grow even more.
Lunch took about an hour at a leisurely pace. They occasionally admired the view outside the window and chatted about the local culture; it was quite relaxing.
After lunch, they had almost forgotten about Lisa’s appearance; their mood wasn’t affected, and neither of them mentioned her.
Tom continued showing her around the campus, introducing its unique features and culture as a way to walk off their meal…
And in scenic spots, he would take photos of her.
“Mr. Kitten,” the girl suddenly stopped walking, turned around seriously, and said to him, “Can we take a proper photo together? I wasn’t ready for the last one…”
“You deleted it?” Tom suddenly realized something and asked.
The girl pursed her lips into a smile without answering, looking innocently at him. He took out his phone and opened the album; sure enough, she had deleted their photo together!
“Agnes, you…” Tom looked up at her, pretending to be displeased.
Agnes just smiled and turned around to run away; she was afraid!
Tom really chased after her!
As she ran and glanced back, she was so scared that she screamed, “Ah!! He’s really chasing me!”
“Why are you running?!” Tom caught up with her, grabbed her arm, and pulled her into his arms forcefully. He said to her, “Let’s take a photo together!”
Her forehead hit his chest hard. “Ouch,” she groaned in pain.
Looking up from his embrace, she saw the face she had been longing for day and night. Her heart pounded wildly; at this moment, she felt closest to happiness.
